Overall the hotel was very nice but there were some simple maintenance problems such as: bulbs needed to be replaced, very slow drain in shower/bath... a feeling that things needed to be renovated. This is a beautiful hotel with old world charm. The location in Florence could not be better, convenient to everything. The staff was spectacular. The breakfast was very good. I LOVE this hotel. In an age when even the most luxurious places have a cookie-cutter quality that's hard to distinguish, the Bernini has a unique character. We loved the location of this hotel since it was so close to the Uffizi. The hotel was lovely, very nice decor, and the rooms comfortable and very clean. While we liked this hotel overall, we originally had a room (#501) next to the elevator shaft and you could hear it as it went up and down - it was very loud and kept us awake. The gentleman at the front desk said no one had complained of the elevator noise in his 25 years of working at the hotel which I found impossible to believe since it was disturbing and continued until after 1AM and started very early in the morning. Bathrooms were very clean and updated with lovely towel warmers. The breakfast room as a delight and the service overall was very good. We would go back to this hotel and request a room away from the elevator since this was our only real issue. The sheets were 100% linen which you may or may not like. Florence was the highlight of my entire holiday and I went to many places in various regions. And the location and comfort of my hotel made it possible for that to happen. It is 10 mins away from the train station, 3 min walk to the Uffizi Gallery and 5mins to the Duomo and Ponte Vecchio the same. It is a walkable city but the location of the hotel […] helped too. And I give them 5 stars not just for the location but also for the great staff, friendly and helpful bartender and clean and comfortable rooms. The only thing I wished was better were the hair dryers. Since I was traveling through the country I wanted to travel light and hence did not bring my own. So if you are used to Turbo dryers then I would say bring your own. Having said that, one phone call to the receptionist and they sent someone with a salon size professional dryer and all was right with the world again. I would recommend it to one and all. The staff was friendly and helpful, the hotel is a close walk to many of Florence's top locations and the lobby, restaurant, and room are in beautiful classic decor. The hotel is in a great location. The room was ok sized, larger than many European rooms but not US sized. The bathroom was somewhat small. I would stay again, depending on price.

We stayed here for eleven nights for our honeymoon and absolutely loved it. All of the hotel staff was kind and informative. Our room was very large, clean and well furnished. The hotel is in the center of Florence, so we were never too far from any of the major sites. Beautiful lobby and bar area, good location, decent price. At check in the staff was polite but did not go out of their way to make you feel truly welcome. We booked an Executive Double which is on a special floor and the room was very nice albeight small then what would be expected. The big problem was the whole hallway smelled like raw sewage and […] it never went away for the three days we were there. Additionally, when we checked in it was stuffy inside and we could not get the air conditioning to work. We called the front desk to have it looked at and were informed that would be impossible as there is no air conditioning from November to April. Nice suprise. Great location. Great service. Terrific breakfast buffet. Room was very comfortable and the bathroom was huge. I would suggest you avoid the hotel bar as the prices are too high. Otherwise, I would definately recommend this hotel and stay there again.

The hotel is in a perfect location - it's a quick walk to all the major sites but removed enough that it was quiet and not that crowded near the hotel. What a perfect location! Just a few steps from everything: beautiful piazzas, Ponte Vecchio, Uffizi, etc.. Location was ideal! The hotel is very pretty with a nice lobby & bar area. The room was nice but very noisy hearing the busy side streets below. If I return I will ask for the highest floor. Overall, I would say it's a best bet for the money.

The Bernini was the very first hotel I stayed at when I started travelling to Florence 13 years ago. I stayed there for many years until renovations forced me to find an other hotel. After a five year absence, I went back. The renovations resulted in beautiful lobby. The guest rooms (which can be small) have also been upgraded and redone. The location is ideall, right off of the Piazza della Signoria - simply cross the street and you are in the heart of Florence. The staff, while cordial, is not overlly helpful (some things did not get upgraded). I was able to get Dinner reservations made for me or a Taxi without a huge ordeal, but that was about the extent of it. Our only concerns were that 2 maintenance issues we brought up with staff were not dealt with. One was the shower drain, which did not work very well, causing the shower to fill with water.
