Stayed in Dec 2009 for vacation. Great hotel, spacious, clean, modern looking. Nice little touches like free bottle of water everyday and free wifi. Great service, very polite and helpful front desk. Seems like the climate control wasn't too effective, I could never get the room warm enough. Location wise is OK given the ease of access to the tube, but most famous sites are on the western side of London. Only major tourist site close by is the Tower Bridge and Tower of London. Lots of the restaurants around this area of town do not serve dinner in the evenings, only drinks, caters to the office workers during happy hour.

Hotel located in a great location for a short stay or for sightseeing. Common areas were very clean and had recently been refurbished. Limited extra amenities & sterile appearance. Staff reserved ( typical for British ), but helpful. Breakfast available, but vastly over-priced. Room size was adequate and very clean. Handicap-accessible. Few nearby restaurants. Reasonable access to public transportation, but obtaining tickets and passes was an adventure. Overall, we were pleased and would recommend this hotel to others.

Everything about this hotel is great with exception of one thing: during the night the HVAC turns off so unless you manually turn it on the room will become a bit stifling. The service is excellent and the location is superb (next to everything but not overrun by tourists). The rooms are clean and well appointed.

This is a very nice hotel with nice comfy rooms and very friendly staff. Rooms are reasonably large. There isn't much room to stretch out, but there's a nice sofa, coffee table and work station. Bathroom is great, with both a shower cabin and tub. Nice bathroom amenities as well. Wi-fi was not working for me (they were fixing it), but there was ethernet connection in the room, so I was fine. This time around, I was in London on business, but I would definitely stay at Apex for a vacation holiday. It was close to the business center and some tourist spots (which I couldn't visit, thanks to my schedule). Recommended, and I would go back if I have an opportunity.

Overall, the hotel was beautiful and modern and our room was great. However, the bed was not that comfortable (you could feel the coils when you were laying down) and the despite their advertising a "pillow menu", when I asked for an alternative to the down pillow I had in the room, I was told the only other pillow they could find was the sofa pillow wrapped in a pillow case. (Which was not an improvement). The room service options were limited and pricey. However, despite a 2pm check in time, we were given our room keys when we arrived at 10am.

In particular the bathrooms are a real treat, with large showers, separate bath and plenty of space. One of the first hotels I try and book if I need to stay in London. The staff were very helpful and happily stored luggage for us after we had checked out, to enable us to go sight-seeing without haveing to lug bags around.

Tucked away in the City of London, in quiet streets close to Fenchurch St, the Tower, St Katharine's Dock and within easy reach of any destination in the City of London this is a fantastic new hotel. Competitively priced in an area with few hotels this is worth every penny and much better than budget brands that cost almost as much. I did not have breakfast in the hotel - during the week there is no shortage of other venues for a good breakfast although this will be a little more difficult at the weekend. Great staff, clean new rooms which are well furnished in a modern style. There may be slightly cheaper places to stay in London but I'd challenge anyone to match the quality for the price.

This was our second stay at the hotel and although we didn't have a roof terrace like last time the room was still very smart and immaculately clean. We had a huge, and incredibly comfortable double bed, as well as a lounge area with a sofa and desk. The bathroom had a good sized bath and a large walk in power shower. The whole room was very clean and well lit, unlike the bedroom, which could do with extra lighting. The 'mood lighting' was very nice except when trying to get ready to go out. The sockets weren't close enough to the mirror to enable me to straighten my hair which was awkward. We stayed two nights and on the first night our air conditioning didn't work so the room was swelteringly hot as we were unable to open the windows. We told reception the next morning but when we returned that evening it still hadn't been fixed so we told reception again and they sorted it for us then and there. Altogether a really smart hotel in a nice location next to the Tower of London and very close to the tube station. We would definitely use it again.

Great location next to the Tower of London. We were able to take the tube (Tower Hill)or just a short 400m walk to take the Thames Clipper boat to Westminster on the River Thames. Room was super clean and comfortable with unexpected extras: 1. Great bathroom and huge shower with huge bottles of spa products - shampoo, conditioner, body wash, lotion - that smelled great; 2. Even a speaker in the bathroom, so bring CDs and you can listen to either the TV or CDs/DVDs while you freshen up; 3. Probably 50 DVD titles to watch if you are bored (ie bad weather, can't sleep, etc.) for free 4. Very comfortable bed and super clean everywhere 5. Almost a loft like feel with no hint of any cheap hotel furniture anywhere Across the street is a big pub serving breakfast at reasonable prices with a huge menu. There are also grocery stores a 5 minute walk away where you can get pop, etc. and avoid paying a fortune in the tourist areas. This place is a sure thing; I won't stay anywhere else when I am in London.
