Stayed at the Tropical Shores of the Tropical Beach resorts. NOT a luxurious stay, but what it IS is friendly, convenient, and relaxing - offering all the amenities for anyone who just wants to get away from a crowded city. Direct beach access, free dvd rentals (sign them in/out on a clipboard!), free towels & beach chairs (or you can rent loungers […] & umbrellas on the beach for full or half-day), bbq grills, pool, hot-dog/breakfast sandwich cart, shuffleboard, volleyball. We stayed in the mini-efficiency room that included a queen bed (felt a bit small), large standing shower & kitchenette (frig, stove, sink w/ pans, dishes, coffee machine, toaster). We could hear some rumblings from the neighbors, and a baby cry once or twice. Luckily our neighbors were mindful & respectful, and it wasn't an issue at all. You can also hear birds 7am-ish each morning. Separately, walking onto the beach there are a lot of shells, some of which were very sharp. There’s a free shuttle to the village (approx 10min away) but DON'T FORGET TO TIP the great drivers! Or locally, there's a 7-Eleven right across the street. There are 2 WONDERFUL restaurants: Javier's (Peruvian) & Miguel's (French) for dinner, and the open-air Sniki Tiki bar for live music. There's also a fish market right across the street and a full supermarket 2-4min down the street for grilling. Honestly, this was a FANTASTIC spot, for a fraction of the rates at some other uppity places we looked into. Hope to be back many more times. Read more

The exterior of the hotel needs some significant updating to the times. The room we stayed in was very nice and spacious. The closeness of the beach is certainly a plus for this location.

We stayed 1 night and had a nice stay. The room appeared clean and was much bigger than we anticipated, especially the bathroom. The layout of the place is confusing as there are multiple rentals, condos and hotels in the same small confined area. Hotel was nice enough but very pricy. Hotel Staff was awesome. Very limited parking. Hotel about 3 miles from the village, not a great location. Overall nice place for last minute trip but if you have time to plan might get better deal or better location.

My family and I stayed in the two bedroom suite and it was beyond my expectations. The "apartment" was fantastic with a king bedroom and then two full beds in the other room. The kitchen was brand new and very inviting. The bathroom was a little small but well maintained. The room was part of a smaller set of rooms that made their own courtyard. You could either borrow chairs from the hotel or rent them at the beach. Lovely restaurants in the area and easy access on and off the key. We enjoy this hotel and have stayed here before. We like the location...at the quieter end of Siesta but still close enough. We found the rooms to be clean and updated from our visit in 2010. Perfect size and smart layout. Staff was friendly and the place is well cared for. We loved the beach however they ran out of beach chairs because it was spring […] break and such a busy time. We had an amazing one night getaway. We stayed at the Sarasea. The location was perfect! The manager gave us the best room in the resort. We had a one minute walk to a private beach. Our room was clean, comfortable, and quiet! The grounds were clean, the staff was very friendly, and our room had everything we needed and then some. They even had a ton […] of DVDS to check out for free so we were able to watch a movie at night. They have free HBO and WiFi. We were minutes away from The Village and Siesta Key Beach. This is our 2nd time staying here and we just love it. The location is perfect because it's near everything. The room is spacious, clean and comfortable, the pools are great, the beach is wonderful and they supply beach chairs free of charge. And of course the sunsets are absolutely beautiful! We will be staying here again next year for sure.

Tropical Resorts is not four star however, for a beach hotel you really couldn't ask for more. The rooms are clean, tastefully decorated and equipped with everything you could possibly need. The staff if very accommodating, friendly and professional. This us our third stay and it certainly will not be our last.

Wonderful-staff very attentative and room was expertly equipped and decorated for our comfort. Siesta Key is the greatest beach, laid back, uncrowded, and absolutely the best sand and water in the USA. Heated pool was super, despite record high temperatures during our visit 1/13. Lobby provides, free chairs, beach towels and grills for cooking in.

Everything, except the parking, is superb at this resort. Excellent beach access, beautiful and spacious rooms...so nice we booked an extra day. Only negative is that parking stalls are tight...tight...tight and it's hard to maneuver in and out of some of them. Would consider returning there anytime we're in the area.

I spent one night in the hotel and enjoyed every minute of it. There were good things and some other not-so good things about this hotel. The staff at the office were friendly and we had no problem registering. Then we proceeded to our rooms and found them to be really nice. The bed was really confortable, and the room had the kitchen amentiy, with […] dishes and plates. We did not use the kitchen. However, when I entered the room it had a smell to pet, but my wife said she did not sense it. The room had a sofa-bed which we used for our kid. We did not spend too much time in teh room other than for going to sleep. The resort is very close to the beach, like a small walk. Also, the offer yoga classes on the weekends arround 9 am, by the beach. The only thing , I would change for this hotel other than the smell of the room was the check out time which was oddly at 10 am, to someting like noon. You can still call and request a later checkout time. If you plan to visit, this would be a nice hotel to stay. Read more

This is a lovely hotel. Very short walk to the beach. Walls are thin, but the other guests were not very noisy. And the shower heads could be updated. Other than those few things we loved it and would stay here again.

After about two hours following our arrival, our toilet stopped up. A plunger was next to the toilet, so obviously this toilet had a history of malfunctioning. We sat in our room for over four hours while a plumber worked on it unsuccessfully. We were initially told that there were no other rooms available, so we just waited for the plumber to fix the […] toilet. Finally, he announced that ours was not the only room with toilet problems and that it wouldn't be fixed until tomorrow. At this point, around 11:00 PM, the maintenance man sheepishly handed us key cards to another room and said there had been a last minute cancellation. The next day, the manager comped us for the previous night and allowed us to cancel the next two nights without penalty. Other than that, the employees were very courteous and accommodating.
