My boyfriend and I had a wonderful stay at the Pequot Hotel. Not only were we upgraded to the King Suite, but the hotel staff was so friendly and accomodating. They provided nice beach chairs and towels for us to get in some time on the beach. There were washrooms for us to shower and get ready even after our checkout time. It was a very central location […] to bike paths, beach, and "downtown" Oak Bluffs. I would highly recommend it! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Our room was nicely furnished and neatly kept. Two things needed to be improved. One,the lighting in the room was very dim. Second, would have preferred HiFi Internet connection INSIDE our room.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Our stay was fantastic. I would stay there again. When I made the reservation I had no idea where the hotel was located. It was just smack dab in the middle of all the action. To the right down the street was the main drag of town, to the left down the street was the ocean. The place just made you feel warm and COZY! I recommend it.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"A Wonderful experience that can never be replace!"
My wife and I enjoyed the accommodations and would really recommend a Refrigerator next time in our rooms to keep drinks cool, especially for health reasons. I can never replace the experience of the Staff and residence in the facility. All were friendly and hospitable.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Hotel rooms were recently modernized and very clean. Unfortunately our room was quite small with an extremely loud air conditioner and marginally comfortable bed. No phones in room. We won't be booking any return trips here. Consider looking elsewhere!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"wonderful folks, sterling continental breakfast"
we so enjoyed our visit with pequot...cookies, compliments, great porch to watch the folks walk by. we walked down to the beach very early in the morning for a quick dip in the ocean.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"great stay in Martha’s Vineyard"
The facilities were clean and well kept. I was delighted to be offered a room upgrade upon my arrival. Morning breakfast was a plus. Chocolate chip cookies were available in the aftenoon with ice tea as well. I would recommend other travelers to the area to stay at this hotel. Its location to the center of town was excellent.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
the rooms were very small but the service was wonderful. they will give u chairs, towels and umbrellas for the beach. will even give towels and showers even after you check out. it had a very homey atmosphere and the other guests are very friendly.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Very accommodating. Allowed for early check in. Only allowed for luggage to be left in the lobby, which made me a little nervous. Otherwise, great experience.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great time at the Pequot Hotel"
I went with my family for a 1 night stay at the Pequot and were pleasantly surprised. The staff are extremely cordial and the morning breakfast was over the top. My hat off to the Chef. (The Quiche's were amazing!) I'd highly recommend the hotel if you are not the 5* all inclusive type of person.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Clean comfortable hotel with relaxing surroundings. Very clean with an amazing selection of food for breakfast. Lisa and her team are both friendly & helpful. If you are looking for a homely place to stay this is for you. EnjoyGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Loved loved Martha's Vineyard! Rooms at the Pequot Hotel weren't what we were used to (not as modern as what you would get in the cities), but you have to take into consideration where you are. The main thing is it was clean. Breakfast was nice and staff helpful.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Brilliant friendly helpful staff beautiful setting enjoyGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Not too shabby..."

Pros: Nicely kept grounds, quiet and definitely close (Within easy walking distance) to Circuit Avenue and the beach. They did serve a complimentary hot breakfast, which had the same items every day but was better than a standard continental. Hot cider, lemonade & cookies after 2pm was a nice touch. Very pleasant people who take care of and run the hotel. Cons: Did not realize how small the room would be. Our 19-month son came with us, and with the pack & play in the room, there was no room to get around the bed. Being that we didn't spend all that much time in time in the room, it wasn't a huge deal, but I was expecting something a bit bigger. I see others got cheaper rates than us, so maybe shop around a bit before booking? We paid $189 a night (Before tax), pre-booking 2 months prior for our stay at the end of Sept, which I would assume is the off-season. Another review on here said they got a room for $109 memorial day weekend, which does seem like a very good rate. All-in-all, I would keep this in mind when we return to MV.

Read SusanP's nice review just below. We had the same room, same pleasant stay, same itinerary! We celebrated our 25th and putting kids into college with our first trip alone in too long! What a treat to travel in the off-season! No crowds, perfect September weather, and an interesting set of fun travelers from all over the planet with whom to share the Pequot. We ditched the auto at Woods Hole, came over on our bicycles and parked them in the rack at the front door of the Pequot -- easy. The ocean is 100 yards down the street, with a nice beach. I borrowed a nice large beach towel from the front desk. We biked to E-town, and Chappy -- perhaps my favorite spot on the Vineyard. Don't miss visiting MYTOI, the free stroll through a peaceful Japanese garden, and combine it with a stroll down the mossy trail (across the road) maintained by the Trustees of Reservations. Then visit the beautiful sandy dunes of Chappaquiddick for a swim. "Bites" at Menemsha village has terrific fried clams, and I concur with all the other reviewers about Gay Head, the ChowCo, Nancy's, Seafood Shanty. The Pequot was perfect. A welcome home base after tripping about MV all day. What can you say when there are freshly baked chocolate chip cookies, tea and lemonade (hot cider in the fall) waiting for you every afternoon? Or evenings when you borrow the corkscrew and wineglasses to lounge on the porch or in the courtyard? But a special bow to Lisa and the staff. They work exceptionally hard to make your stay the best it can be. Great value. I'd recommend this hotel to anyone.

Great location, could walk to everything. In a quiet neighbour. Staff were very friendly and helpful. The afternoon home baked pastries were a nice touch and breakfast was very good with a nice selection. Would definitely recommend.

We stayed at the Pequot Hotel for our 2nd wedding anniversary on 9/21/14. We were able to walk to the hotel from the ferry and got there too early for check in as they had sold-out the night before. The woman at the desk offered us coffee and said we could leave our luggage there so we could begin exploring. The hotel is just adorable, and spotless. The front was decorated with fall seasonal color, pumpkins, etc. The neighborhood is residential and very quiet. We walked to the beach and then along the beach to "downtown" Oakbluffs. We window shopped and then visited the gingerbread houses and tabernacle which are on the must-see list! At around noon the woman from the hotel called me to say our room was ready and we could check in anytime! That was a nice surprise as I thought we would have to call her. We checked in and found our room to be very small but perfect for us as we like being close. ;) The bathroom was very clean and supplied with everything we would need/want. The shower stall was only about 4'x4' but OK for a one night stay. The handpainted furniture is adorable. We unpacked and took a little nap and woke up very hungry. I went to the lobby and grabbed some delicious home made chocolate chip cookies and lemonade to bring back to our room which was beyond perfect! We then walked to the bus stop and headed into Edgartown where we had a wonderful lunch at the Seafood Shanty, right on the water. The bus system on the island is excellent, $2 per person per ride or $7 per person for an all day pass! We walked around Edgartown for a few hours and headed back to the hotel. It was kind of hot and humid outside but our AC worked perfectly and our room was sooo comfy. We decided to stay in Oak Bluffs for dinner and ate at The Martha's Vineyard Chowder Company (locals call it The Cho Co), and just had chowder and drinks so that we could hit up one of the many ice cream shops as well. We went to Ben and Bill's Chocolate Emporium and I felt like I died and went to heaven!! Dozens of ice cream and gelato flavors and every kind of chocolate you can imagine!! We walked back to the hotel and had a very comfortable night. In the morning, we went to the complimentary breakfast, and I couldn't believe my eyes. So much to choose from and such thoughtful offerings. They had something for everyone including carb-free and gluten-free options. I had an english muffin with nutella (yum!) and some fresh melon and a slice of quiche. My husband had a bagel with cream cheese and some home-made oatmeal (they had all kinds of mix-ins for the oatmeal). We also split a cranberry scone and we each had coffee and juice. Perfect start for the busy day we had planned. We checked out and asked if we could leave our bags again and of course we were told "yes". We spent the day in Aquinnah and saw the Gay Head Cliffs which was absolutely breath-taking.Next time we come to the Vineyard we will stay longer (so much to do and see!) and we will definitely stay at The Pequot!
"Nice for what it is"

Stayed here for a weekend wedding. Having read the reviews I knew what to expect. I had booked a room with 2 twin beds. It was very small. The room #14 is L shaped for one of the beds you really can't see the TV. There was no real closet. There was a rack with hangers that the door opened into. the bathroom was adequate. The bath amenities were nice and they had q-tips and cotton balls. I liked that they had a black wash cloth embroidered with the word make-up, which was clever. The breakfast was really good. Homemade pastries and quiches. Afternoon lemonade and cookies, Friday night there was wine and cheese. Excellent location could walk everywhere to the beach, the bus stop, ferry landing and to downtown. The staff was very friendly and very helpful with any questions we had. Would stay again.

We were on MV for a wedding, the bride (who used to live on the island, as did her soon-to-be husband) recommended The Pequot to us. We arrived for a 2 night stay on a Friday afternoon. It was a beautiful sunny day, but with a slight chill in the air, not to worry though, The "always thinking, always smiling" Pequot Staff had put out warm apple cider and ginger bread. There was also fresh lemonade (and tea/coffee I think), oh and cookies arrived not long after. If that wasn't enough, wine, cheese and crackers was provided on the cute'n cosy porch from 5-7pm. We stayed in the main house, had a nice big TV and large (by hotel standards) fridge, very comfy bed and air conditioning. Worth noting, not all rooms have fridges or TVs even, so best to call them to check. The AC is quite noisy, but then so is ours at home so we had no issue with it. The room and bathroom were very clean, not very large but more than adequate for our needs, I was more excited to see the large fridge, but then that's just me !! The breakfast is described as "continental", never had so much choice from a continental buffet before, we loved it. On Sunday morning they even provided mimosas. The location proved perfect for us, less than 10 minute walk from the ocean, shops, restaurants, buses, Oak Bluffs Ferry Terminal … but far enough to be considered in a quiet neighborhood. The Pequot has a very friendly, laid-back and welcoming feel about it, the staff don't make you feel like you are inconveniencing them like some hotels can tend to do, I just got the impression they take great pride in their hotel and work extremely hard to make sure everyone is made to feel at home, actually watching them I'd say they work extremely hard ... period. Needless to say I highly recommend The Pequot and will definitely stay here again.
"Wonderful place for first-time island visitors."

My wife and I decided to visit Martha's Vineyard for our 30th wedding anniversary, and I selected The Pequot based on the many favorable reviews on Trip Advisor. I was also impressed with the personalized responses from the General Manager to many of the reviews and always to the negative ones. This attention to detail was an indication of the A+ service we received throughout our stay. Each member of the staff we met and spoke with could not have been more helpful and informative. I recommend reading the responses to the reviews because they are not boilerplate like you see in many other cases on Trip Advisor and provide a lot of information. For example, it is recommended that you call the hotel directly for reservations to discuss your visit so that the best available room could be recommended, highlighting the features and potential drawbacks to the many different room types. In our case, after I explained the special occasion for our visit, it was suggested that we book a room with a king-size bed (No. 4) that is not even offered on-line. I did so, and we were not disappointed. Based on conversations with other guests during our stay, I discovered that ours was larger than most with enough space to move around in. Yes, the bathrooms are small, but I imagine the same is true with most comparable places on Martha's Vineyard. The highlight of The Pequot is the hospitality of the entire staff which nutures a warm and friendly environment among the guests. I cannot recall another hotel where we interacted with as many guests as we did at The Pequot. I guess there is something about enjoying a glass of terrific lemonade and biting into delicious freshly baked chocolate chip cookies while rocking away on a large porch at the end of the afternoon that leads to friendly conversation. The continental breakfast offers a lot of options and features muffins, scones and quiche prepared on-site. One warning, be on the lookout for the skunk we saw in the garden each of our nights at The Pequot. However, he, too, must be a satisfied guest as he was only seen and not smelt. Finally, in the interest of full disclosure, I must add that, upon entering our room for the first time, we were surprised to find a complimentary bottle of wine in honor of our anniversary. Just another indication of the exceptional level of service you can expect from the start as a guest of The Pequot.
"Very, very nice. Quiet, comfortable and near perfect"

We are here for 5 nights and found Perquot to be perfect for a quiet vacation stay. The room is comfortable, the grounds very colorful and nice. The service and continental breakfast has been outstanding. Pequot has been a very restful place.......sort of like an old pair of slippers......not pretentious or ostentatious........just comfortable and very nice.
"Great location, close to town, beach and the tabernacle"
09/06/14 Rosemary040 Sydney, Australia
Rooms are ample enough in size, bathrooms too, furniture is room I.e bedside tables and chest of drawers showing signs of a dated makeover, bed linens are a fresh design. Breakfast is an ample self serve continental buffet. Appreciated the "English" touch, with self serve tea station, with individual colour teapots and bone china cups and saucers, as opposed to cardboard cups. Friday night porch party, with wine and cheese was very enjoyable, and a great chance to chat with other guests. We stayed in an annex room, accessed by external stairs on the second floor. Some noise between rooms, but consistent with layout of hotel. Reception staff very friendly and helpful at all times. Lemonade and choc chip cookies in the lounge each afternoon a nice touch.
"Great food, clean environment, courteous service"

Great find and good location close enough to Circuit Avenue without the noise. Some rooms are located up stairwells and I would only recommend those rooms for travelers that are in good physical health. Afternoon lemonade and fresh baked cookies a nice touch and the morning buffet really makes this place such a good value. Also, a very clean pool.
