Merrill Field Inn - Anchorage

All employees are great also kinda friendly like they know u long time..there is no wi-fi in rooms but website says there is,it's really noisy place to stay as family( people are always fighting),even though non-smoking room smell cigarette it was so bad...once again only employees were good rest of it :((((((((

My wife and I took one look at our room and did not feel safe. We saw two drug deals go down in the parking lot within the first five minutes we were there. The Laundry Room had rusted washers, and several rusted appliances were noted in the parking lot. We immediately left and went to a different hotel, eating the $150 + fee. The hotel was a "you pay for what you get hotel"...The area is the biggest problem with this hotel...next door you can find a strip club...and the other guests were not any better...2 different guests were kicked out during our 5 night stay. Also, one guy that was standing around near the room that housed the laundry, fitness and snacks, ask my friend […] if he had any crack. I would not recommend having your family around this. My wife and I were sleeping and heard a knock at the door at 0520am. It went on for about 30 seconds and I got out of bed to call the hotel front desk and the phone was disconnected. Next thing I know I hear, "Anchorage Police" and two cops walk in as I am standing there naked next to the bed. A poor experience at Merrill Field Inn, Anchorage, AK. This place is a dump. 1) Old bed & sheets. Slept with my clothes. Saw a couple cigarette burn holes in the sheet. 2) The stink from the filthy carpet filled the air of the room. Wore shoes at all times. 3) There is a nude club right outside the hotel. So this isn't a place to take your girlfriend, […] parents, family on a vacation. 4) Continental breakfast is a joke. The same menu everyday - muffins, bread, eggs, juice, oranges, hash browns & sausages. Hash browns & eggs tasted stale, stuck to bread, muffins and oranges during my stay. 5) Some teens (not sure if they are related to the owner) were watching an adult-rated movie in the lounge while I was using their computer there. 6) I had to pay $10/night extra for a kitchenette (total $20), even though their website lists the same price for both types of rooms. Inside room was fine with very nice shapoo etc and body moisturiser. It was too warm and we couldnt seem to adjust temperature. Staff were helpful and friendly. Area not good, so ok for one night only. Peggy's restaurant within walking distance was fun to eat at - plenty of food and inexpensive.
