"Great Short Stay"
My husband, 5 year old son, and friend stayed for one night at this hotel. We were very happy with the location, cleanliness and service we received at this hotel. We came for one night to celebrate a friend's 40th birthday at a nearby music venue. There was ample parking, and our check in was fast and informational. I informed the front desk that we […] had hired a nanny through a service and what time she would be there, and they were helpful with that and even said she could park in their garage. The next morning we walked a couple of blocks west and had a great breakfast. I'm very happy to have found this hotel. We come up to the city frequently and would love to stay the night more, and we will definitely make this our go to spot. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Convenient to transportation or walking to sites"
I booked 2 rooms for friends and was pleasantly surprised that we got connecting rooms. Eating, shopping, other conveniences in the area, and within a fair walk to the Wharf - approx 15 blocks from Pier 39. 5 blocks (incline) to the 'crookedest street'. Free parking a plus. Checking in was quick and Irene was very helpful and stayed a little longer […] to set us up right away with hop on hop off bus tickets. The stop was just around the corner - very nice. Irene also helped with locating the nearest car rental drop off and giving us exact directions to get there. The later desk clerk was very helpful with airport transportation arrangements. Lobby is small so no continental breakfast but there's a small cafe and a couple other eateries on the block. The beds were very comfortable. Very large screen TV and nice balcony. Bathroom vanity area was fairly small. Shower head not very high for tall people. The room was good size, clean, and a bit noisy during the night with Lombard St traffic - sounding like the balcony door was open - but not terrible. I didn't understand why when checking out I had a per-night charge for the fridge in one room only. I was told it was already included in the charge on the other room but the room totals were otherwise the same. I didn't consider the 3-4 explanations satisfactory but, of course, I paid rather than question it further at 4:30 in the morning. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Beautiful Golden Gate View from Balcony"
Very nice hotel. Had room on the third floor with a balcony and a spectacular view of the Golden Gate Bridge. Busy street traffic, but a safe area. If you run the fan in the room, the traffic noise is drowned out. One block from the bus (only 2.00), but not a bad walk to Fisherman's Wharf either. Would stay here again and would recommend it. Very good […] parking. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great hotel close to transportation areas ..."
Friendly staff, comfortable beds, close to wharf with reasonable walking distance and close to transportation. Great view from street side, traffic can be a bit noisy but worth the view.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Perfect location for site seeing."
Very nice comfortable room. The management was very helpful in finding a shuttle for us to the airport. Would definitely stay at the Lombard Motor Inn again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"easy access to sights and transportation"
This is a great hotel. The price is very reasonable and the rooms were very clean and comfortable.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The Hotel was neat & Clean. The staff was very friendly. The location was great. But I 'am very light sleeper and our room was on Lombard Street, it's very busy highway to the Golden Gate Bridge. But Parking is free . The rooms on the other side are quieter, other then that everything else was okay.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Great location. Would not let us park two cars but we found other parking for second car close by.Genuine Expedia guest review
"You will surely get a noisy room over the street."
I read the reviews and noted the need to ask for a room not fronting Lombard, but the price was very good. So I made the request when I made the reservation. It was a mid-week arrival, and the response was that room selection is confirmed upon check-in. So I made sure I was there first in line at the 3 pm check-in. I confirmed that we wanted a room […] away from the street and asked if they had one: No response except a request to fill out the registration card. I asked again as I handed over my VISA, and got: "I'll check." I asked again, and got silence. I was handed back the form to sign and I asked again if the room was away from the street, and got "It's room 311." Finally, a woman came from the open room next to check-in and says to the clerk; "It's #311; tell him its over the street." The clerk says: "It's up three stories and should be quieter there." It was 90 db sirens and much honking all night long, and we finally got to sleep sometime after 2 AM. Avoid this place like the plague, because they won't give you a straight answer! (Or invest in really good earplugs, if you are on a tight budget.) Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
Although we mentioned that the room must be at the back side of the street. We arrived at 8:30 p.m. and the hotel manager said all room at the back side were gone. There was no guarantee as this request was only on a first-come-first-serve basis. I disagreed as we paid upfront two months ago. Regardless, we could only be given the room at the front […] side and on the first floor. The room was pretty noisy we could not sleep the whole night. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Nice place to stay"
PRO: - Close to Pier 39 and Fisherman's Wharf - Free parking - Clean room, comfortable bed CONTRA: - Inside room was quite loud, due to street front (Lombard Street is real busy)Genuine Expedia guest review
would definitely stay again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great place in SF"
We chose it because of the parking, but found that the location was perfect. Great restaurant on Union St - thanks to the Desk Staff recommendation - so much better than Fisherman's Wharf! The bed was amazing, and all other appointments were most comfortable. Easy to find Starbucks, and then walk at Crissy Field with those wonderful views.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Best hotel yet in SF!"
My girlfriend and I love going up to San Francisco for vacation, and this is the best hotel we have stayed at yet! Its in an ideal location (Minutes to the Fisherman's Wharf, Crooked Lombard Street, restaurants and the Golden Gate Bridge!) The hotel staff was very very helpful! We were going to go to the Giant's Baseball game, and the guy at the front […] desk explained what bus route to take, where to get on and off, and even made change for me to use on the bus. And THE BEDS! These beds must have been temperpedic or memory foam or something, but they were the most comfortable beds I have felt in a hotel! We got lucky and got a room in the back of the hotel, thus not having a window on busy Lombard Street. This is a great hotel for anyone who wants a comfortable nights sleep and prime location to all the sights. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Good location with free parking"
Old but refurbished to be very nice. Free parking (vs HI Express at $45/nite). Free WiFi that works. Stayed in back room so no view, but quieter than street side. For a moderate hotel everything was good....lots of towels, Coffee maker, 42" TV and very confortable beds (Tempurpedic,I think).Genuine Expedia guest review
Great value for the money Good room / double beds instead of queen Kinda loud if you have a room next to street but cool view of streetGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Price value was good for the quality of the room. Loved the flat screen and the Tempur-Pedic mattress. Had an excellent time while on SF. Free parking was a definite bargain. Will definitely visit again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
We had a street side room and it was way too loud next time I will request an inside room, the traffic went on pretty much all night even with ear plugs in! Otherwise it was fine and the staff were very friendly and helpful. the room was clean, some body lotion would have been nice!!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"My stay at lombard"
My stay at Lombard motor inn was great there was a bit of traffic but that is to be expected because Lombard is a busy street but everything was in close proximity the staff was great I will definitely stay there againGenuine Expedia guest review
The room smelled terrible for four days, the shower was slimy with previous people's shampoo, shower head not at adult height, and the water was either too hot or too cold, no middle ground. To be fair, we did not complain or ask them to rectify anything. Location and size were good for the money.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Terrible hotel I had ever stayed"
The room I stayed faced the street with heavy traffic. The noise came from the street even if the balcony door was closed. There is no way to go to sleep due to the noise. I had asked for changing the room, but I was told all rooms opposite the street were booked. No alternative help was provided from hotel staff. Staying away from this hotel.Genuine Expedia guest review
Very clean top to bottom,Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Great location, convenient parking, but noisy street on front side. Staff were very friendly , courteous and extremely knowledgable and helpful with tourist detailsGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"OK hotel at a good price"
Parking spaces less than needed. Bed was very hard. Like all of San Francisco, if you are a smoker you are out of luck. A good point, the hotel had easy access to most of the major places of the city.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Standard Okay Hotel"
Standard, older hotel in a great location. Other than the free parking and fantastic bed (and I do mean FANTASTIC!), everything in this hotel is very 1980-1990’s. Some upgrades would be nice. Start with the water pressure and height of shower head (I’m only 5’5” and the shower was too short for me, my poor husband!) Staff is friendly, but don’t ask […] them to call you a cab. We asked and were told that it would be quicker to flag one down. “It will take 5-15 minutes to call.” After trying to flag down a cab for 20 min we went into a neighboring hotel who was more than happy to call us a cab (and offer us something from their continental breakfast – something else The Lombard didn’t offer) 20 min later, we had a cab. Had the desk guy from the Lombard spent the dreaded 5-15 min to call us a cab (rather than surfing the internet), we may not have discovered that we’ll stay in a different hotel our next trip to SF. "Not the Ritz, but price is right."
The inn is definitely older and no frills, but it's clean, has the basics, and the location is great. Plus free parking!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
I was hesitant to stay in a two star "motor inn", but was pleasantly surprised! The facility is small so parking is right next to the elevators to the rooms. Check-in was quick and easy and the price was much better than anything closer to the wharf. The room was the perfect size for our one-night stay - there was actually four adults and one child […] staying the night in a room with two double beds and one bathroom. We paid $5 extra for a refrigerator and a miniature one was immediately brought into our room. The beds felt like memory foam and the shower looked new. The room even included a small table and large TV. It was also nice that the sink was outside of the bathroom, especially since there were so many of us in the room. I felt safe in the area at night and it was a very short 10-15 minute walk to Fisherman's Wharf. We visited the coffee shop next door in the morning, and it was also nice. There are many places to eat in the area. The only downside was the noise at night. The trucks that sped past the room were so loud that it shook the entire facility. Overall, I would recommend this motor inn. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

first time here, i like the place, really clean, friendly personal.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Many things in walking distance"
Nice hotel, helpful staff, extremly comfortable beds, walking distance from many things but public transportation close by also. Street side is noisy but they tell you that ahead of time, we requested that side to have a view. It's a busy street in a busy city you should expect to hear noise. No complaints would stay here again!Genuine Expedia guest review
"Clean, comfortable room."
Clean and comfortable. Staff was friendly and helpful. Would have liked Queen beds rather than doubles. Great little coffee shop nearby.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great stay for daughters sweet 16"
Had a very nice stay in SFO. Our room was clean, comfortable and close to everything we needed. We also had a nice view of the Golden Gate Bridge with a balcony. From checking in to checking out, customer service was great. Ohh free parking too! Will be staying here for our next trip. Loved itGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Close to transportation. Free parking was a bonus.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Free parking was nice could not even check in 30 minutes early. Staff wasn't overly friendly, but room are nice and comfortable.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
great location, friendly staff, clean room, and quietGenuine Expedia guest review
The old lady in the morning is very rude but the room was amazingly comfortable because the beds are memory foam and it's right by the outskirts of San Francisco so traffic isn't bad at all and it's right by the piers and Presidio.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The hotel is old, so don't look for anything modern here! Hotel staff was very friendly and the room was very comfortable and clean. The hotel is near a major road so access to most attractions is easy. It is a good option if you're looking for a fairly priced hotel. There is a parking garage for all guests, which is very convenient. I would recommend […] it. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Best hotel for the price!!!"
I've stayed in several hotels in SF for $130+, that were run down old apartment buildings in sketchy neighborhoods run by idiots who didn't speak English and seemed like they didn't even know they were running a hotel! This was way cheaper, and a very typical, nice hotel room. No complaints here! Staff was very friendly, room was very clean. Memory […] foam bed was amazing! 42" flat screen tv was nice. And we were lucky, we got a room in the back, so we slept like babies with the window open in the middle of the week! Will definitely stay here again!!! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"What a view!!!"
We stayed on the third floor facing the Golden Gate Bridge! The room was clean. The staff was friendly my only issue was the height of the chandelier and shower head. I am 6'5" and that was an issueGenuine Expedia guest review

"Awesome location... Close to fisherman's wharf."
This hotel is a diamond in the rough. The rooms are large, clean, and nicely remodeled bathrooms. A few minute walk to the wharf and all activities.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Staying there again, I would ask for a room away front the street side rooms. A lot of traffic noise all night long.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"close to all must-see sights"
The hotel is located good place in downtown center of San Francisco. It is very close to Fisherman Wharf and Lombard Street Point, only several blocks, but very steep slope. You can walk to there. Also we tried two times in Lombard Street in evening and day. It is very interesting and scared.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Decent hotel in a wonderful area"
Great price. Free parking. No fridge or microwave was unfortunate. Noisy. Clean room. Comfy king size bed. Balcony with awesome view in a beautiful neighborhood. Good stay!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Fit for the price we paid."
Previous ratings were very helpful. Parking was no issue at all. The only thing I would say is that street traffic noise gets quit loud early in the morning but me and my husband had to get up early so it was fine with us.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Good accomodations for non-chain hotel"
Although this is a non-chain hotel it offered good accommodations for a reasonable price. Only fault was with the TV and the lack of instructions to use closed caption. The TV has a basic remote but no buttons for CC or set up menu. Controls on TV are on the right side and one includes the menu system. Buttons to activate are on the back side.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
