Lombard Motor Inn

Stayed here for the SF 2012 Urbanathlon. It was about a mile from the start (near Pier 39) and the finish (Marina Green) so it was ideal for that and the room served it's purpose; just a place to crash and shower up the next day. It's walking distance (few blocks) to the bars/shops around the Marina district; about a mile (~20 min) to the Pier 39 area […] to give you an idea of what's around it. Not much of a view, very limited amenities--just a place to sleep and store your stuff while you go out. Free parking and the price is good. I would probably use again doing next year's Urbanathlon but if I were to come up here with my young kids/family, i would probably spend the extra and go for a hotel that's nicer and has better amenities (view, closer location to the Pier, gym, etc). If you are looking for a 5 star luxury hotel, this is not it. If you are looking for a clean, comfortable, friendly staffed motel with free parking and great location this is it. It appears to have been recently renovated. I would stay here again in a heartbeat.

My wife and I consider hotels more as places to sleep than attractions themselves. This hotel was clean and comfortable. This hotel was convenient enough to Fishermans Wharf attractions and restaurants that we could walk and did for the few days we were there. Caution, there are hills in San Francisco.

There definitely is noise from the road so you should be aware of that. Otherwise, everything was good -- good bed and linens, hotel staff was polite and helpful, location was great, close to Fisherman's Wharf. I would stay here again, especially for the price in San Francisco.

Clean older motel. Staff very freindly and helpful. Beds very comfortable. Only negative was the nosie from the street, but we were aware of that before we booked so no surprise there. Very close walking to the pier, restraurants, shopping. Not having to pay for parking was a real plus. We would definately stay there again.

Hotel was in a good location. Fisherman's Warf and pier 39 were in walking distance and the Lombard Cafe across the street had amazing food. I would definitely recommend this hotel to a friend and wouldn't hesitate to stay there again.

We ended up on the "street-side" of the hotel which turned out to be horribly loud, the curtains did not shield much light, access and parking were frustrating. I will say that the beds themselves were not your standard mattresses. The mattresses were of the memory foam variety which made them very comfortable.

It was better than anticipated, very clean, friendly front desk young man and nice lady, very knowledgable and helpful. Noisy room #115, but upon checking out - nice lady said they had ear plugs which I would have used if they were offered when checking in. Very nice clean place, especially for the price and location. We werent paying for top-end luxury and didnt expect it, but this was more than adequate for a weekender trip. We walked down and back to the fisherman's wharf area each day. Also just a short walk to Union Square, 4 blocks to the crooked part of Lombard. 1 block to a bus stop. The room we stayed in was recently renovated. It had a 42" flat screen and king bed with a memory foam top. It was roomy and had a coffee maker. Our window had no view, it looked out to a building about a foot away, but it did let in some light. The shower had been re-tiled and was very pretty. There was shampoo and soap but no lotion for amenities. […] We had a car, so free parking was a major perk for us.
