"Close to everything"
The professionalism and friendliness of the hotel staff is very impressive. They ware always a step ahead to fulfill all the guests’ needs. The breakfast is excellent and the location is very convenient, one block from Copacabana beach. I would highly recommend the hotel to everyone traveling to Rio.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Pretty great hotel"
The service here is wonderful and the room was perfect for a group of friends traveling to Rio for 4 days after a 6 week business trip in another part if Brazil. The breakfast was alright, not spectacular, but that was really my only complaint. They also have the smallest elevators I've ever seen. The room was clean and pleasant. The location is across […] the street from the beach at about the halfway point in Copacabana, so it was a short walk to the fort and Ipanema, too. I would definitely stay here again! "Flexibility would have earned my loyalty"
The hotel was in a great location, clean and we'll maintained. The staff was very professional; however, I was disappointed in the absence of considerate accommodation for those staying overnight before traveling to destination. I arrived from the airport at 11pm, and was not granted a late checkout to rest and freshen up before my 4pm airport shuttle […] the next day. I also was not able to partake in the breakfast due to there being no option to take a plate to go. Basically I spent $200 for an extremely limited overnight- not my idea of quality.. I would have preferred to have been awarded a full 24hrs to experience the hotel for at least some of what it advertises; and, especially as a paying customer, I would have appreciated hearing "yes" more often than "no". Hotel is a very accessable to beach and main street in Copacabana. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The morning buffet breakfast is very complete and tasty. Very courteous and helpful front desk. Plenty of hot water and air conditioning wonderful. Could have used change of sheets mid vacation, but we did not request it so it did not happen. We enjoyed being so close to the beach and the staff at the hotel were really helpful at all times. Also spoke and understood English well and gave some great advice on where to get supplies and tours to take. The breakfast buffet was good and the food in the restaurant was of a high quality. "NICE SURPRISE in Copacabana"
After trying many many different hotels in the area in subsequent visits, this one will be my choice from now on. Very good service, location and staff. A bit pricey, though.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Rooms were extremely small, and despite the hotel marketing there is not roof-top "pool". There is a sigle square of water, equal to the size of a large jacuzzi in the U.S.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Location is great, staff speak English and hotel is fairly clean but still needs upgrades. Best part was the buffet style breakfast. The most dispointing part was the pool on the roof and luck of view. Also I'd like to say that beach and weather was great, totally love Rio landscapes and strongly recommend taking the one day tour, it is worth it all […] the money. "great reception desk staff!"
Great hotel with excellent location! Neighborhood seemed safe to walk around during the night and day. The beach is about 30 seconds away, grocery stores, banks, restaurants, bars are all within 1-2 minute walk. The reception desk staff was awesome, including Claudio, and they are very helpful with tours, directions reservations, etc (except for the […] reception guy who works the night shift - he wasn't too friendly if you come in late). The breakfast is decent, with several fruit and breakfast-type items. Rooms are comfortable and you can't hear any street noise, allowing you to have a full nights sleep. "Decent hotel next to the beach."
This was a good hotel slightly on the expensive side for the facilities it was providing. Internet in the room but not wi-fi. Use a laptop to set up a hotspot wifi instead. The last two nights of our stay there was a water stoppage for maintenance, or at least that's what was claimed by the front desk. Not the most astute staff, but that is everywhere […] in Rio. They are friendly and that is also prevalent everywhere in Rio. Tipping helps with that as well. Overall a good experience since the hotel ahould not be the focus of your stay in Rio. Considering how expensive hotels are in Ipanema, Windsor Martinique was a decent choice for Copacabana. Beach is always better and cleaner in Ipanema. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

Nice hotel, close to the beach, shops, eating......PERFECT STUFF!!!!Genuine Expedia guest review
This hotel is not worth the money. The wifi only works in the lobby, restaurant, and upstairs by the pool. You need an internet cable in your room. The hotel staff was uncooperative and lied about their luggage storage options and then lied about the wifi being available in the hotel room. They changed their mind when we went to complain and then claimed […] that it was only available in certain areas of the hotel. The rooms are small. The only good thing was the breakfast buffet and the location. It is a block from the beach. If you do end up here, try out the fish restaurant they have across the street. The manager refused to give us a larger or acceptable room size for our $1300. It was 10 by 10 and another couple suffered the same problem...A very small room facing the backyard. When I requested a larger room, Mr. Eden (the desk clerk) actually had the audacity to tell me it was the largest one in the hotel. I talked to the other Black couple who […] were experiencing similar problems and Mr. Michael told me he had to call his travel planner and it was changed and upgraded immediately. It did bother me as we were the only two Black people registered at the hotel and both given lesser rooms. I have been with Espedia for over 20 years and this is my first such experience. I did inform the director, Mr. Vicente (in charge while regular was on vacation) and prepared a statement which I will share later with Espedia. "Nice hotel in Rio but ..."
The first impression is a good nice hotel, conveniently located few meter from Copacabana beach. The room is relatively small but does the trick at nights - you are there to rest. Depending if you kept windows open or close, you may hear the street noise and all what it entangles. Bathroom is comfortable and clean. The elevators and halls are well maintained […] and surveillance cameras are everywhere so giving the impression they take safety very seriously. Breakfast was included and it was very good. Staff was very friendly and made our stay quite enjoyable. I am venturing to score the hotel a 3.5 stars due to the following: the bed was stiff (it was not an orthopedic mattress) it appeared that you were lying down over springs and wires more than over a bed. Nevertheless you can crash over and wake up with no body aches. The second thing is that wifi is not available in rooms and guest floors (you either connect in the lobby or in the pool area) since I don't carry a pc with me, the LAN cable was useless for me. There is room for improvement for the Hotel since World Cup is coming and the torcedores (AKA fans) from all over the world will be hitting Brasil in no time. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Geared to the Business Traveler. Solid Service"
The hotel itself is conveniently located 11/2 blocks from copacabana beach. The rooms are basic, meaning it has dryer, mini stocked bar etc. Drawback was that room needed to be reprogrammed everytime we used it.Also there is no wifi in the rooms only in the lobby which is very small. The breakfast that they provide is well above average, with fresh fruits, […] smoothies, pastries, eggs, potatoes and more. Anyone complaining about this should not take their review seriously. The street where the hotel is located is very well trafficked and seemed safe. We were out pretty lateand there was staff outside of sister hotel accross the street and our hotel staff was still manning desks. The staff was very accomodating to all request and provided us adapaters for our electronics. Would stay again if needed. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great value and great location"
This hotel was perfect for my husband and our friends! It is at a great location, right by Copacobana Beach and a nighttime flea market. If you need to use the bathroom while you're at the beach, you can even easily walk back to the hotel. The concierge was very friendly and helpful. They let us check-in early, store our bags, and refer us to great […] restaurants in the area. They also helped us book an amazing day sight-seeing touring, where the bus comes and picks you up right by the hotel. The rooms themselves were comfortable and clean. Best of all was the free breakfast buffet--delicious foods and at least 5 fresh-squeezed juices every morning. Only criticisms are that the wifi is only available in the lobby and the gym is quite tiny (but then it is much more fun to work out by running along the beach than in the gym). "Good location. Nice breakfast"
This hotel is almost right on the border of Copacabana and Ipanema. Not quite on Ipanema. It's a good five block walk before you are in Ipanema. The nice thing is that you have access to both the Copacabana and the Ipanema beach within walking distance. The rooftop is nice though the pool is a joke. It's the size of a big hot tub but it's not a hot […] tub. Basically useless. The "gym" is also tiny. I think it has two treadmills and one more piece of equipment and the room is just big enough to house those three pieces. The breakfast is great with lots of fresh fruit juice and also fresh fruit. Eggs, ham cheese, lots of pastries. They also have a couple of local items. You only have wi-fi in the lobby, restaurant, or the rooftop. Internet in the room is by network cable. The lobby is also tiny with just a small living room furniture set. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Convenient hotel in Rio"
The location of the hotel is quite convenient -- just a very short walk to the Copacabana beach. My room was a little small but the bed was comfortable and after all I did not come to Rio to spend all my time in a hotel room. The little restaurant in the hotel was surprisingly good. Service my the staff was superb at all points -- friendly and efficient. […] One thing seemed a little odd: there is no wireless Internet connectivity anywhere in the hotel. They do have a wired connection in the rooms and cheerfully provided an Ethernet cable for me to use, but I had not packed the adapter needed for my MacBook Air (which does not have an internal Ethernet connection) so I had to go to a shopping center some distance away by taxi to purchase the needed adapter. "Windsor Martinique not as good as you think"
Although the location is convenient (Copacabana and Ipanema beaches very accessible), the room was very small, extremely spartan, and the one small window we had over looked a rectangular space analagous to an air shaft and the view was that of other walls. The place is clean, breakfast acceptable, and the staff (with one exception) was very nice. Really […] a depressing experience. Luckily had been to Rio many times before and knew the city and the neighborhood well enough to be out of the room for most of the day. Really horrible, AND to top it off, WIFI is ONLY AVAILABLE in the lobby and by the rooftop pool, which by the way is not much bigger than a very large bathtub! Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Good hotel to stay at."
The hotel is good. We stayed only 1 night and it was quite comfortable. The breakfast was good too. Really close to the Copacabana beach.Genuine Expedia guest review
This hotel is one of the best in Rio from a price value perspective. The location is excellent- less than a block away from the beach, restaurants, supermarkets and money exchange next door or within a block. The night market is very close to this hotel, so we could stay at the night market and then walk back without fear of walking through dark streets. […] The rooms were very clean, including the bathrooms and the buffet breakfast with several fresh fruit juices, fruits among other things were fresh and excellent. "Very good hotel, excellent location"
Windsor Martinique is 50 m walk from Copacabana & 15 minute walk from Ipanema. Beach at the end of the street is nice and clean. 1 block opposite way you have small supermarket, bank, restaurant, etc. Location is excellent & safe. Police have a small station at the corner. Taxis always outside. Night souvenir market on some nights two blocks east. Many […] cafes to grab a snack while at the beach. Hotel staff Philipe, Claudio and the lady (forgot name) speak perfect English and are super friendly. Took tour recommended by hotel (Rio Express). Saw Corovado, SugarLoaf and many city sights in one day without being rushed. Room and bathroom were not huge, but clean. Bed is firm by American standards. Pillows not great-flat and synthetic. If you are pillow snob, bring your own. Room AC was cold & you could optionally open window. My room faced the rear so no view except of the back of other buildings. Hotel gym has 2 treadmills/2 bikes in a cramped space. Pool on roof is tiny, but did not care since came for beach. Small bar near the pool, but not open in the evening. You can bring your own drinks up there and enjoy the evening breeze in private. Internet included, but need a wire in the room. Wi-Fi in lobby & roof. Nomangue restaurant across the street was good and not expensive. 2 outdoor restaurants past the Golden Tulip were good price and food. "Great place with managed expectations"
It was a very good hotel. I have been working in the outer Sao Paolo region for 2 weeks and staying in an awful hotel with poor services and subpar rooms. Windsor Martinique is absolutely a 180 degree reversal. Rooms are great for the value. Perhaps more is expected by some for the price paid, but with the right expectations (in a foreign country, very […] touristy area, and only half block from the beach), you quickly realize how much of a value you get. Hotel Guest Services all speak good english and attempt to help you as much as possible. My only complaint is that the services that they provide are somewhat lacking for the image they try to bring. I wanted to rent a bike but they did not have an agreement in place with a local shop so they could only give me directions to the nearest bike shops for me to rent myself. I wasn't mad, but I did lose a few hours from my early morning plans because all the shops were closed until 10 AM. They did their best with what they had. Again, you understand you are getting a good value for most aspects of the hotel but perhaps you do not get the complete services as you would with a Marriott or Sofitel. But you pay half the price too. So your choice. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Decent, well located hotel"
Well located, simple and clean hotel. Rooms not very comfortable though, for example: hard low budget bed. I would recommend it as a business like hotel, definitely not a romantic or very cozy spot. Definitely overpriced as are all hotels in Rio.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"WIld goose chase"
At first I thought upon entering this is a second rate hotel- on a side street- small lobby - very small elevators-a dormatory style room. The breakfast bar is ok but the matri de is snooty, no hello- the plates are very small- they don't really want you to eat it. the waiter took my plate and coffee. I was not finished. I asked if there was a computer […] business cener- the clerk said no, where is your computer/phone. I said I did not have one, Is there one in the neighborhood. He sends me to a photo shop I follow his directions. no photo shop. I come back and confront him. He says it does not open until 9am. it's 830. Why didn't he tell me this at first. Another staff lady butts in and lectures me. They all talk portugese rudely knowing I don't understand. They have a certificate of excellence from trip advisor on the wall. What a farse. Don't stay here unless you speak Portugese. The hotel is deficient in many ways and that is why you pay a little less. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Great location and very good breakfast"
The location of this hotel is incredibly convenient with only a block to the beach. Breakfast is very popular with the guests and had a good selection.
