Staff were extremely nice esp the girl at the front desk and bell boys.they went out of the way to help out when not feeling well. hotel is ten minutes from airport. the area is okay full of locals. many restaurants around with good food.

This hotel is great value-for-money and very conveniently located. It's a short walk from the metro station. The room was very comfortable - 4-star at 2-star rates. The hotel also has some great restaurants so you can enjoy some great Indian food / drinks.

If you are a big fan of listening to club music at all hours of the day, then this is the hotel for you. I was put on the 1st floor (a misnomer, as it it above the ground and mezanine floor) at 4 pm when I checked in. 30 seconds in the room and I realized if the music was this loud at 4pm, I did not want to guess what it would be like at 1am. I called […] down to the front desk and Alex came up and moved me 3 rooms over. It sounded quiet, so I thanked him. 10 minutes later the music came back on again, every bit as loud as the first room. I asked for a room on a higher floor, and Alex was VERY accomodating and moved me up to the 3rd floor. It was quieter, but if you are a light sleeper, this is not the place for you. The bed was very comfortable, room well appointed, laundry was outragiously expensive (I did not see the cleaners across the street until the next day), the water never ran clear, it always had a yellow hue. The internet worked well, and the day and night shades were fantastic. I slept very well. Chopstix as tasty, as was the Tex Mex place. My put offs were the excessive music noise, the fact that the pool never had sunlight (built between two towers) and the fitness center was a joke (one all purpose machine and only up to 25lb dumb bells). Staff was exceedingly curtious, but I consider that par, not something that distinguishes a hotel above the rest. Read more

I have stayed at the Marco Polo several times while passing through Dubai. I have always been satisfied by the staff and comfort of the hotel. Beds are extremely relaxing, and the rooms are very clean. I would and have refered other people to this hotel, and they have said the same. Good for short or longer stays.

Going to this hotel was a hurried decision, after I cancelled my stay at a more expensive and terrible hotel. I was pleasantly surprised with this hotel, and will use them again in the future. The room I stayed in, looked just like the one in pictures 4-10 (top row). It lists free WiFi in all rooms: not true. There is only wired internet: a problem […] if you are traveling with a MacBook Air (like me), or other wireless device with no ethernet port. The hotel provided me a loaner WiFi router, I could use in my room. This was one of many times, that the great staff would make this one of the better hotel stays I’ve ever had. The front desk always came through, regardless of what I needed, with a smile. On the same street, there are several small stores and local restaurants, including one next door (open until 3 a.m.). There are two, 24-hr ATMs, at the other end of the street. The hotel is a 10 min. cab ride from Deira City Center: a 3-story shopping mall full of stores and restaurants. It is also where you catch the BigBus tours. Tour agencies pick-up at the hotel as well. The hotel has it's own restaurants inside, but check the lobby pub. The food is ok, but it's the Russian girl cover band with belly/folk dancing that make it a must see. It is 20 min. by cab to the airport. It is a nice place to stay, without breaking the budget, and it is conveniently located to other places of interest. The swimming pool is nice and clean. The buffet breakfast have a wide selection. I specially like the omelet. I like the refreshing orange juice that they served when I arrived. I was able to use the free wired internet a lot and it is fast.

This hotel turned out to be better than the pictures portrayed. The staff was friendly and the general manager really is a nice person. I just wanted to be left alone during my stay there and not be bothered by anyone and that is exactly what happened. I will gladly stay there again in the near future!

I reserved a king size bed in a smoking room and got a no smoking room with twin beds . I had to take a cab to the hotel and when I checked out and asked about a ride to the airport I was told to catch a cab. The first night of 2 my internet went out for at least 10 hours the maintenance person did not seem to have any idea as to how to fix the problem […] . It was corrected by the next shift. I normally stay at Le Meridien and was dissapointe at the Marco Polo and will not return. The prices at the polo were higher the rooms smaller.The amenities at the polo were dissapointing at best. The rooms are clean and very modern renovated, BUT towels are old, but still very clean. There were hot water for hand wash, but none at z shower (almost cold)!!! Indian NIGHTCLUB at hotel ground floor, just at entrance, so you find ethically compromising people at nigh hanging around. Not very suitable for families. I'm a DoD employee working in Afghanistan and have to travel through Dubai enroute to the states. The Marco Polo is where I regularly stay. My last stay was from 2-5 December 2011. This last stay I had issues getting the complimentary internet up in my room, but the staff resolved this quickly. One thing I would warn guest of is using the phone in your […] room. This stay was the first time I've used my room phone and ended up with a phone bill for over $100 for 7 phone calls and 3 of them I didn't even speak to anyone at the other end. Those 3 calls were a total of 80 AED ($21) . I was using my international phone card and did not realize I was still being charged by the hotel. Imagine my shock when I got my final bill at checkout. I was informed by the front desk that were phones within the hotel for calling card calls. It was a little too late for me, but make sure you are cautious of that if you should have to use the phone. This hotel is exceptional for the price I paid. The staff were very friendly and very accomodating. I had breakfast and dinner in the hotel and they were very very good indeed. Breakfast cost 35 dhs, you would be hard pushed to get a macdonalds for that price. Dinner came in at 55 dhs, a lovely meal with drinks in the Bombay restaraunt. There was a […] 4 pce band playing trad indian music (a first for me) in the corner of the room and they were very quiet and it just added to the whole ambience. 10/10. If there was a downside to the whole adventure, it would have been the location of the hotel. This hotel could sit in the beach area, marina area, and would not feel out of place. I personally wanted to be in this area, and close proximity to the metro, which was about half a mile away....that was the only downside. Oh and the canned music from the minarets? at 4.30 am was another new experience......but at the end of the day I was staying in a islamic country and have to abide by their traditions. Stayed at Marco Polo hotel in Dec 2012 for one night, staff were very polite and efficient from the reception to porters and bar staff. Cold drink on arrival was very welcome. The room although on first impression a little small was very well equipped and spotlessly clean. Arrived at hotel after midnight - staff were friendly and helpfull with bags. Easy check out and again helpfull with bags and locating local taxi to the airport for me which was a lot cheaper than the taxi I got from the airport to the Marco Polo hotel. The hotel is located in the older part of Dubai and is a taxi ride to the beach area. The nearest […] mall is Deira Mall which has just about the same shops as the newer Malls in the New Part of Dubai. If you book any tours from the hotel, be sure to ask to go with Arabian Tours. They may cost slightly more than their competitors - but so worth it. My friend went on a Safari Tour with them and had an amazing time whereas another traveller had booked with another tour company from the hotel and although she paid 50 DB less, (think she said they were called IMD Tours) felt that she didn't receive the same service or value as Arabian Tours. Marco Polo is a nice notel in the heart of Dubai down town. Staff was friendly and cooperative. They let us check in early and helped us with various things. The room was nice and comfortable although we felt that bathrooms were small and definitely can be improved. I would recommend this hotel.

We found the hotel staff very friendly and helpful about all things we needed to know about travelling around Dubai. The breakfast is really good with a great range of meals.We stayed in a polo room which had a very comfortable king size bed and had great view over the pool and city.We stayed there last year and will be going back again soon.
