To be honest, I did not expect the quality that I ultimately experienced; I needed a specific location, but had not stayed in that vicinity of Oakland, CA before. I am pleased to report that not only was the location perfect, but the few surrounding streets with all the ethnic shops was a treat. The hotel is lovely and airy, very, very clean, the staff friendly and extremely competent, and I am looking forward to my next stay at the Courtyard by Marriott Downtown Oakland.

The Courtyard is right across the street from the Convention Center and attendant hotel. Very convenient, clean, comfortable, nice staff, good local restaurant recommendations and maps, too.

I have used this hotel a number of times and think it is very good - always clean, comfortable and in good order. Staff are extraordinarily friendly and helpful. When the computer/printer for boarding passes wasn't working or was busy, the desk clerk printed it for me immediately. Take care outside in the neighborhood at night...it's not totally safe, though there are wonderful restaurants nearby!

Our stay at the holtel was almost perfect except for the temperature of the room. the thremostat said it was programmed for 60 degrees but the room temperature was 74 degrees. I called the office but to no improvement and so I ended up opening the window. This let cooler air in but also alot of humidity which I did not want. Other than that, I have nothing but praises for the hotel. Close to all forms of public transportation, great restaurants and oaklands chinatown. We took the B.A.R.T. to San Francisco and did some sightseeing but mainly went to see friends in Oakland. Thank you. I recommend this hotel for its cleanliness and location. I should have made a second call about the air conditioner.

lots of restaurants nearby and walking distance to Jack London Square. The best farmer's market I've ever attended happened right on our street early Friday morning. Also, one block to the BART. The car parking attendants were very responsive and extremely pleasant friendly and helpful, no materr how early or late the hour.

I choose this hotel because of the convenience and location to bart and buses since I didn't drive. The room was very clean and I like the fact that the ice machine always works. All and all it was a very comfortable, quiet stay.

We picked this hotel specifically for the location and it's jacuzzi. When we arrived the jacuzzi was out of order. It would've been nice to have known that prior to checking in.

Located in Downtown Oakland, surrounded by several excellent restaurants, this is a very clean and helpful hotel. I would recommend it and will use it again. The only problem I encountered was the fact that the internet system was out of order and had been for two days. No one could say when it would be back up again. Otherwise, it's a comfortable, clean, quiet hotel.

This was a nice place. I was between elevators and the ice machine and never heard either. I hate valets but they only have a short walk so I never had to wait and I could see the car from the elevator lobby. So very nice, good location only two blocks from BART, right in China town, maybe 10 minute walk from Jack London square. Hotel.com did list their address as the main marriot, but only a block away.

Very nice for not being *****. Nice touch with the cookies on the lobby counter. It's in the middle of Chinatown with a lot of interesting restaurants if I'd had more time. We walked about 8 blocks to Jack London Square for dinner. The breakfast food has a generous assortment of cereals, pastires, juice - the usual continental breakfast food. The omlettes with your choice of additives (mushrooms, cheese, etc) weren't very good and the fruit (blueberries, pineapple, melon) seemed old or leftover for a few days. Maid service and valet service very pleasant.

The Hotel was nice enough, NO roomservice, which I would expect from the Marriot. Also could hear the people next door loud & clear, everytime someone came or went I could hear the doors slamming clear down the hall. If you want to sleep this is not the place ot stay!

Yes, you read the title correctly. I was minding my own business at the front desk asking for recommendation on local cuisine (bc their restaurant only serves breakfast!! thanks for the heads up on that one hotels.com) and a guy gets out of the elvator dripping blood with a sizable gash on his forehead. ABSURD!

Excellent location relative to Chinatown, BART and surrounding Broadway stores and businesses. Hotel was clean and comfortable with excellent noise suppression when facing the street side of busy Broadway traffic. Web access, lobby and breakfast were excellent as was the valet parking staff.
