"A True Getaway"
I booked this hotel because it was written up about within Travel & Leisure magazine. The BB caters to couples but my sister and I had a great time walking the trails and exploring the property. Definitely recommended if you need a weekend away!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Forty-Second Wedding Anniversary"

We totally enjoyed our stay at the Oak Cottage. The Cottage is very private as advertised and a few steps from the gate to the nature trail where we viewed deer scampering about. We spent quite a bit of time sitting on the patio and just enjoying the sounds of nature. We took advantage of the private spa as we continued our relaxing visit. The "Do not Disturb" package and breakfast was superb. We strongly recommend this venue for a tranquil getaway in rural Brownwood. Don and Deb are the gracious hosts of this gem! We definitely plan to return for the much needed rest and relaxation. Tony G
"A perfect place to reconnect."
Last year my fiancé and I chose to elope at the Star of Texas Bed and Breakfast. It was so amazing that we decided to celebrate our first anniversary there too. We stayed at the Wildrose cottage. The food is the best I've ever had. There is a private hot tub that we relaxed in first thing in the morning and last thing at night. The garden area located by the main house is filled with interesting "yard art" and has a pond. There is even a little shop with handmade items such as earrings, bath soap and cards off the garden area. Also there is a walking path with fun little surprises along the way. The Wildrose cottage is decorated creatively and for me serves as inspiration as far as decorating in my own home. From the vanity with the converted oil lamp to the lights strung outside, I definitely at least attempt to make my home a little like this piece of Heaven. Bottom line, my husband and I agree that the Star of Texas Bed and Breakfast is a great place to relax, unwind and rediscover one another.

We can't say enough about The Star of Texas B and B. Big thanks to Don and Deb (the owners). We had an incredible time and the ceremony was everything we imagined. This is such a beautiful place, with lovely, very welcoming hosts. Deb's cooking can not be beat by the most gourmet meals i've ever eaten. We felt the "real world" melt away the moment we arrived. A return to SOT is already being discussed. You will not regret a moment of your time here!

My husband and I eloped here, and it was everything we wanted. The property was beautiful with walking trails and very interesting art along the way. Everywhere you looked, there was something new to see. The cabin was nice and welcoming, with its own patio near the koi pond and hot tub. The Inn keepers (Don and Deb) were great. They took care of everything for our happy day! We will be back!
"escape to the beautiful, safe-haven of tranquility for a few days"

Our trip to Star of Texas far exceeded all expectations. We absorbed every ounce of beauty the property had to offer. A glass of wine by the camp fire, a moonlight dip in the hot tub while taking in the peaceful environment. We thoroughly enjoyed the food and the owners, Don & Deb. This was a much needed trip to the country for some rest and relaxation. What we received was quite the blessing!

Innkeeper was very accommodating with arrival, key was in the door and arrival information/materials were laid out in room. Property location was a high point. Removed from the town which allowed for romantic atmosphere. On-property nature hike was very nice, we loved the donkeys! Made friends with rooster and cat as well. Town was not a high point but we were there on a Sunday when the historical part is mostly closed. Went to Humphrey Pete's for dinner, good local joint. Next time will try to go on a Friday/Saturday to see the town and have dinner at The Turtle (heard it was especially good). Fire pit adjacent to room was a major hit, enjoyed wine and s'mores after dinner. Breakfast the next morning was prompt and delicious. Wished there was a little more variety but cannot complain as what we were served was top notch. All in all, a quaint, romantic getaway. Thanks for having us! Santi and Anna

This was our first experience with a B&B. It was wonderful! We had a vow renewal ceremony the evening we arrived. We had no electronics to cloud our weekend. The art along the trail is a must see. It was exactly what we needed...and the breakfast was amazing! We will definitely return.

My fiance and I stayed here over Christmas. We were absolutely impressed. The property is beautiful and Deb and Don are wonderful people and hosts. We stayed in a cottage that was private, well furnished and cozy. The breakfasts were delicious and delivered to the cottage. We had a campfire every night and just relaxed with some wine. We will definitely be back!
"Star of Texas B&B the best!"

Our last visit during the Thanksgiving weekend was our 3rd. By the time our weekend was up we had already planned our 4th visit. This place is the best to go to when you don't get away much and need somewhere to go to unwind and relax. We love this place for so many reasons, the food is awesome and we always add dinners to our package, the serenity of being away from the city and having no TV to watch is awesome. The walking trail and the variety of animals are wonderful things to experience. We will suggest and recommend this place to anybody that needs a quiet getaway even if for just a weekend.
