"A True Getaway"
I booked this hotel because it was written up about within Travel & Leisure magazine. The BB caters to couples but my sister and I had a great time walking the trails and exploring the property. Definitely recommended if you need a weekend away!Genuine Hotels.com guest review

Loved every part of our stay in the Oak Cottage. I have literally no complaints. Don and Debbie are very detail oriented and want to always make you comfortable. Here are just a few of our favorite things about our stay: - the wine! - the hammock out front that you can bundle up in and read - the amazing breakfast every morning along with the dinner we got on our anniversary night - the privacy and the coziness that came from staying in such an adorable cottage - the amount of wildlife you get to see. We always woke up to birds chirping and roosters crowing. If it sounds like a dream - it really was JUST like a dream. HIGHLY recommend - we will be back!
"Perfect spot for a wedding"

First off Thank you to Don & Deb for making our special weekend so amazing!! From the moment we arrived, we immediately felt welcomed and at home. Y'all do an amazing job at making it easy for people to feel comfortable and pretty much pampered. I have told my wife many times since we left that it was a perfect little getaway wedding for us. Everything was GREAT, from the vows y'all have customized, the little boquet special made by Deb, the bed and Willowbend room, to the amazing food each morning. We highly recommend the Star of Texas B&B to any one looking for a romantic & peaceful getaway with amazing hosts. Thanks again Shaun & Lauren Schultz
Me and my husband went for a weekend to renew are wedding vows and the scenery was magical such beautiful nature right in front of your cabin, peaceful quiet, the room was stocked with everything to make your stay comfortable ,the wedding vow renewal was planned out nicely ,me and my husband found are new anniversary spot.
"Perfect Place for a Wedding!"

We planned our elopement for November 24, 2014, and could not have chosen a better place to have our wedding and honeymoon than the Star of Texas Bed & Breakfast. Don and Debbie Morelock are attentive without being intrusive (because they have obviously thought of everything you could need long ago and have never stopped improving!). They have created the perfectly idyllic setting for intimate weddings. The breakfasts are as much feast for the eyes as they are for your appetite! But, the thing I will never stop talking about is how Deb intuitively created the perfect bridal bouquet for me!
"We will be back!"

My husband surprised me with a getaway to Star of Texas B&B for my birthday and we both fell in love with it! We stayed in The Cottonwood, an artsy cottage that was so beautifully put together and so very comfortable. The owners, Don and Deb, really know how to create a peaceful atmosphere for couples. And the breakfast was phenomenal!! I cannot say enough about how much our stay meant to both of us and we are already planning our return!
"Elopement and mini-honeymoon"

I cannot say enough about this gem in the woods! My husband keeps telling me "this was the perfect place for us!" We found the peaceful, relaxing elopement and mini-honeymoon we were seeking! We also made new friends in Don and Deb, the proprietors, as well as their friendly cats! There is much here to enjoy whether you are getting married or just want to relax and connect with your loved one. I have not felt this relaxed in years and I am looking forward to returning in the near future! The food is also amazing. We recommend the wine, cheese and fruit tray. Although we didn't try the romantic dinner, we will the next time we visit! The breakfast is AMAZING. We ate every last bit on our plates. We hope to return here many times in the future!

The Star of Texas is the perfect place to celebrate the beginning of a life together. We had a beautiful wedding ceremony on 9/27/14. Don & Deb Morelock have a unique bed & breakfast and treat you like family. It was all we hoped for and more!! The place is absolutely gorgeous and relaxing. The Oak Cottage was beautiful and breakfast delivered to your door each day is delicious! The Morelocks pay attention to tiny details and make sure everything is perfect. The elopement package is wonderful. We plan to return many times to The Star of Texas. We will never forget our experience and hope others can enjoy the same. This place is a real jewel and a slice of heaven on Earth!! ~ Ruby & Richard Cowan
"The perfect little Renew-a-Moon retreat"

We booked two nights in the Wildrose retreat for our 10-year aniversary. The cottage is beyond cute and has a soothing interior, with muted tones. A love seat, a little diningroom set, a roomy bathroom with corner bath surrounded by mirrors. The bedroom is on the upstairs level, which can be accessed by stairs. There is a small and private outside terrace with a marvelous hot tub! Breakfast is brought up in the morning and is a culinairy surprise every. The surrounding are lovely. Trees, grass, hills, sand, truly Texas hill country. We decided to have a wedding vow renewal and it was done with such love and care and it made us feel very special. A unique bouquet of Texas wildflowers, pictures taken en a lovely bottle of wine and personalized glasses. We only wish it was closer by, so we could make this an anual thing.
"Forty-Second Wedding Anniversary"

We totally enjoyed our stay at the Oak Cottage. The Cottage is very private as advertised and a few steps from the gate to the nature trail where we viewed deer scampering about. We spent quite a bit of time sitting on the patio and just enjoying the sounds of nature. We took advantage of the private spa as we continued our relaxing visit. The "Do not Disturb" package and breakfast was superb. We strongly recommend this venue for a tranquil getaway in rural Brownwood. Don and Deb are the gracious hosts of this gem! We definitely plan to return for the much needed rest and relaxation. Tony G
"A perfect place to reconnect."
Last year my fiancé and I chose to elope at the Star of Texas Bed and Breakfast. It was so amazing that we decided to celebrate our first anniversary there too. We stayed at the Wildrose cottage. The food is the best I've ever had. There is a private hot tub that we relaxed in first thing in the morning and last thing at night. The garden area located by the main house is filled with interesting "yard art" and has a pond. There is even a little shop with handmade items such as earrings, bath soap and cards off the garden area. Also there is a walking path with fun little surprises along the way. The Wildrose cottage is decorated creatively and for me serves as inspiration as far as decorating in my own home. From the vanity with the converted oil lamp to the lights strung outside, I definitely at least attempt to make my home a little like this piece of Heaven. Bottom line, my husband and I agree that the Star of Texas Bed and Breakfast is a great place to relax, unwind and rediscover one another.
