We went here as a place to rest while my daughter was involved in a cheer competition. Never Again!!! The other "residents" looked seedy and would stay outside smoking and watching us. They were all men. I am female and brought my mom and 15 yr old daughter. The continental breakfast was a joke! The waffle maker didnt work, coffee was instant you make […] yourself, fruit was old and wilted, and there were no eggs available as advertised. We left and went to Mickey D's which I hate. roof leaked all over the bed and had to try 3 different phone numbers, 2 of which we had to walk out in the rain to the check in room to get. did end up getting a different room but was hard to get my kids up pack up and move around at 4 in the morning. and the second room smelled like smoke. on the plus side we all ended up getting up a little late […] cause of the moving around but they did let us eat. When we arrived at the "motel" it looked run down and I think the property photo was taken either many years ago or under a different ownership. We went into the lobby to find it was unmanned with only a phone to use to call for a security code to unlock a box containing the room key. A very nice young man answered the phone from another lodging property […] in town owned by the same proprieters. We told him we would not stay in a place with no security and no one on the premises and we wanted to cancel our reservation. We were told we could not cancel since we had not given 24 hour notice. He finally agreed to honor our reservation at the location he was working from, America's Best Value Inn at 3438 Highway 12-18. Read more

This older motel has some old comforts of home. Very clean, air conditioning worked great, the bathroom was standard; great shower. The continental breakfast was good too. The most frightening was the neighborhood; very shady area of Madison. If you're on a budget, this would be a great place to stay.

Had stayed here because it was cheaper than the Concourse Hotel but higher than Redroof Inn. The room looked clean but smelled like urine or something upon entering. The contennital breakfast was fine. The area was ok.

I've stayed in America"s Motels before, but this one is way below the standards of my previous stays in this chain. the staff was wonderful, the room small with only one chair, the bathroom door had door knobs but no latch. Most frightening was the shower floor which was painted white poly, without a mat and extremely slippery (I wore socks to avoid […] falling). When we arrived there was no one working behind the "bullet proof glass" so we had to call to get a key out of the lock box. It smelled as if someone had cooked fish in it. There was mold in the shower falling from a vent, bodily fluids on a chair, garbadge under the bed, duck tape holding things together, the doors do no not feel seccure and you are […] on a main level with a old window. Very dirty and unsafe along with the walls being so thin and a gap under the door that you can hear your neighbors having sex . While I was confirmed for late arrival, clerk was getting ready to leave and there was a note on window if unattended to call for check-in. Luckily the storm did not further delay me. "Lobby" was more like a large closet with a plexiglass window to see attendant and a slot to pass id & such through. Older motel, it shows. Had difficulty getting door […] to unlock with the real key. Rusty towel racks in bathroom. Hesitated to try shower so skipped it. Sheets and towels were clean. Floor was vacuumed, but lumpy. Room did not smell (Thankfully!). Plenty of firm pillows, mattresses were very firm. Internet was down. Breakfast in inside hall: Individually packaged muffins were nasty, but the waffle maker was clean & ready to go! Room was surprisingly quiet for being so close to the beltway. No shades & curtains for the one window were not enough for a sense of real privacy or for keeping the sun out, fortunately I needed to get up early anyway. Nice to have fridge & microwave - however fridge was off when arrived & barely down to temp by morning... so bring ice if you need immediate cold. Walls were thin, but thankfully neighbors were pretty quiet. Have stayed in much worse for more money. Would book it again if I needed to stay in the area. Read more

I was impressed with the cleanliness of the room, the brand-new refrigerator which worked perfectly, the continental breakfast which included a Belgian waffle maker, and the quiet location. The neighborhood is quiet though perhaps a little run-down, and one has to wind through a couple of very small streets. I never did find the ice machine, but I'm […] confident there is one. I was not clear whether the sawhorses blocking the north access were due to construction or security. There is an inner hall with locked access to all rooms, so parents staying with older children in a separate room would not have to go outside to go to their children's rooms or vice versa. The staff seemed to be very accommodating and willing to go out of their way to get you what you needed. I did notice that the towels seemed a little worn, but were clean and neatly folded. All in all, very reasonably priced, close to the expressway, and convenient to a bus for downtown or the university. Read more
