We arrived late at night and had a young daughter that needed to get to sleep and the smoke alarm kept chirping and the toilet was running and the air conditioner was exceptionally loud. We went down and got a new battery for the smoke alarm and my husband had to put it in, maintenance was not there in the middle of the nightl. I can't say enough nice things about the Baymont Inn. The staff was friendly and helpful whenever we needed information. Room was quiet adequate. Good value for price. Rooms have window heat/air with variable control knobs which make it difficult to get exact temperature. Clothes hanger area is open with no doors. Vanity is inside small bathroom. Breakfast area is relatively small so gets crowded. Only one waffle iron which had a tendency to stick.

the hotel is basically across the street from a paper mill which has the smell of sewage off and on throughout our 2 day stay. Also, our room smelled like a combination of ammonia and cat urine. when i made the front desk clerk aware, he stated that he would take care of it while we were out sight seeing. when we came back there were to carpet/air filters […] in the room which were very loud and once removed, the room still smelled although not as bad. we were never offered a different room. next time we will pay the exta money to stay closer to the historic downtown district! Even if the hotel is right on a busy road with heavy truck traffic, the room was quiet. The hotel could need some renovation, AC was noisy and no fan in the main bedroom. Friendly and helpful reception. Free shuttle to and from downtown .

Front desk staff very kind and helpful. She had driving directions to all the local sites, and there was a shuttle to downtown if we preferred not to drive. Breakfast with waffle maker was a big hit for kids.

We had a really good stay on our trip to Savannah. The hotel is only about a ten minute drive to the Historic District. The hotel does provide a free shuttle to the Historic District which is a great convenience. The room was more than expected having a sitting area with a TV and the main TV in the sleeping area was huge. It was nice to have a suite […] room at a great price. The staff was also very nice and we had no problems. The only real improvement I would suggestion is a few more items on the breakfast bar and to leave the breakfast open until at least 10 AM. She did not smile at all the entire time we were there and was cold in general- did not feel welcomed at all. Though one must travel a few miles from I-95, the rate and room combination makes it a worthwhile detour. The room and amenities are adequate as is the comfort level. All are commensurate with the rate. Downtown Savannah is a short 12 minute drive. I would stay again.

The service and room were great, the shuttle drivers were friendly and helpful, BUT the proximity to the train was a problem...the horns of the trains woke me at least twice every night we were there. My son slept tnrough it, wish I had!

The fitness center was disappointing: Only the treadmill worked. Found a hair under our sheets; a bug on one of the beds; the ice bucket was still dirty from last stay. It could be that this was just all very coincidental. The hostess seemed agitated, but not at me.

This hotel is slightly outside of the city (accounting for a cheaper price), so understand you will have a little drive to get downtown. Our stay was very nice in a very comfortable and clean room. The front desk service was exceptional and cookies were even provided at 6pm. It felt like a small town hotel in a bigger city. I was very pleased.

Hotel is close to historic Savannah and they do run a shuttle during the day. That said, the neighborhood was questionable and the proximity to a major train yard made for a noisy early mornig wakeup. Breakfast was carbs only.

The room we lived in actually has a door connecting it to the room next door. Although this door is locked, it causes a serious problem for soundproofing. I can clearly hear what people next door to us were saying, and they were not loud at all.

Though the hotel decently priced, I didn't think it was warranted for this hotel. The location is said to be only 3 miles from Downtown Savannah, but is not a straight shot. There is no “life" around the hotel, just a plaza with "hood" stores including a lowend grocery store and a Family Dollar. The hotels has nothing in walking distance,.food, shopping […] or convenience. It's also by some train tracks which CAN'T be ideal. I would say it's okay of you need a place lay your head, but I spent as little time there as possible. Thank God I had a rental, so I could go on my ways and NOT come back until it was time to sleep. I purposefully missed breakfast...but there.is.some provided. The room also has bad ventilation--i turned the unit on and all the old smell came out. There is a nice TV(if you're in the room long enough to watch) but desk and drawers are antique and under distress! Towels felt like mats-- but I brought my own so if you can do so. The only other good thing was the fridge andmicrowave I stored my take home plates in- esp since there "gift shop" was Old Mother.Hubbard.bare!!!! Read more
