The Carousel Inn & Suites is in a convenient location and has a nice little pool area for kids under the age of 10 years old. The rooms, however, need some major updating. We found the rooms to be dated and lacking in any amenities such as mini shampoos/conditioners and a hair dryer (bring your own!). Also, the comforters are anything but comfortable. […] The bed itself was okay, but the pillows and sheets/bedding were lacking. The GIANT tube television was an eye sore and had horrible reception. This was the worst hotel experience I've ever had. I would never stay here again. Also would never recommend this hotel to anyone. There was no coffee maker or blow dryer in the rooms. 1 outlet to use, the other outlet had the TV and lamp plugged into it. There was dirty used kleenex's in the sheets.

We knew when booking this hotel was old, slightly dated, however we were looking for a bargain, it was a food price. Plus my son is a special needs down syndrome boy and both kiddy pools were great for him, he often gets overwhelmed with the crowds, but this hotel was quiet and a perfect fit for our family he is 4 years old) In addition there was another […] family there that had a down syndrome son age five, he loved it to... Overall we had a great stay at Carousel Inn. The location was perfect. Walking distance to Noah's Ark and just few mintues drive to downtown Dells. We wished the hotel beds were more comfortable but with the price we paid, we couldn't really complain.

Great location, but also wonderful mini-water park. I have a 2 and 6 year old and they loved the candy themed water park. Very nice sized slide for kids with great, safe, and friendly lifeguards. The staff seemed very unsure of themselves. When you come in they make sure to let you know that you better not take anything because you will be charged. I made sure to count out my towels and pillows and take a photo in case someone tries to charge me for them! There is no way to secure your belongings. We stayed at this hotel for 3 nights on our first year anniversary vacation. The King room with Whirlpool tub was a fantastic value. The bed was a little bouncy/stiff, and the TV was pretty outdated (19in CRT, 10ish channels, all analog). However the whirlpool tub was quite big and great to relax in at the end of the day. (Room also included a mini-fridge, […] which was quite useful). The location was prime, right on the main strip, mere blocks from all the main attractions. It was a very good motel in good condition. There were couple things Iwould change. 1) new matreces ,2) microave in the room 3) There should be smoking allowed in the balcony . The owners were really nice and friendly.

We stayed because of the location and the rate - a whirlpool room. It was actually pretty decent - clean and just what we needed-except no coffee pot. Generally, the hotel seemed pretty tired and dated, but it was functional. Too bad the hotel's exterior is unkempt and the hallways noisey. Kid Central - FYI.

Upon checking into our room, we were immediately greeted with an intense odor. We didn't even let our 2 year old walk into the room, and went to the front desk to request a different one. They said the room had been 'locked up' over the colder months and that the smell was just the result of not enough air circulating through. It was cute and our baby was excited to play. The problem was the bottom of the pool/slide was like sandpaper, it actually hurt to walk, sit, or slide into the pool. The main reason we picked the hotel was for the animals and carousel horses around the pool, but we couldn't even take advantage of it. Our daughter ended up with a rash on the bottom of her feet and bottom from sitting and standing on the rough surface. The location is great. The price was decent. But if you're looking for a family experience that makes good on it's promises, I'd look elsewhere. Read more

Don't let the name fool you, this is not a newer hotel with an indoor waterpark. This hotel is more of a 1970's style motel with 2 outdoor pools for toddlers and kids. It's a decent hotel for a family traveling on a budget. But it is older and certainly shows its age. The rooms could use a make over, but we found them to be clean and welcoming. The […] television dates to the late 80s and includes only about six channels. This is not the type of hotel you would want to hang out at. No real vending in the hotel and the hotel is actually spread around three detached two story buildings. The lobby shares space with a Pizza Ranch and although it offers some items for sale such as towels and shirts, it really doesn't offer much. There is no game area for the kids and as mentioned earlier the pools are outside. I think it is a reasonable value for the price. They through in 4 passes to Mount Olympus water park which is about 80% of the hotel price. If you don't plan on going to the water park, it's probably not the right value for you. Read more

This hotel lacks common ammenties normally expected: no Internet access, it said satellite tv - only 5 channels, no hair blower, no complimentary shampoo, no coffee maker. The room was very humid and uncomfortable, pillows were flat and mattress was hard, linens were very low quality.

The rooms are slightly outdated, there was enough moisture in the air that some books I had in the room were wrinkled, the wallpaper was peeling, there was a hair in the bed, jacuzzi tub, and shower, the sheets smelled a bit off, and the sheets didn't even fit the king size bed, so they kept popping off. I bring my own blankets with me when I travel, and I would not have been happy with the bedding if I hadn't. I would definately not reccomend this hotel. The setup of the hotel is odd too, the office is in the front, then there are 3 separate buildings with rooms. The layout is a tad creepy to me. The two back buildings look like old wherehouses. If you get a deal on the cost of the hotel it might be worth it to you, but it really depends on just how important the actual room is to you and how much time you'll be spending in it.
