"Exceptional staff and service"
08/22/14 earni Dublin, Ireland
We stayed for 3 nights mid week. From the minute we checked in with Teresa (who we found to be so nice and nothing was too much trouble) to the minute we checked out the staff were so friendly, helpful and obliging. Our room was spacious, quiet and comfortable. Breakfast was lovely, everything we needed or wanted was there. We had to queue one morning but we had left it late going down so we weren't surprised. The staff apologised several times for the slight delay. We ate in the Ocean Bar two evenings, food and service was great. Again the staff were chatty and friendly. .. so nice to see, this is what we are famous for in Ireland and what helps make a great holiday at home. Aside from the staff (and amazing views and location) the highlight of the hotel was Johnny Burkes pub... What a gem! Fab music, staff and atmosphere and not like any other hotel 'bar'. Thank you to all the lovely staff. We will definitely be back and I'm hoping to organise a holiday for my parents with you in Sept. Thanks again, Niamh+Willie
"Excellent stay and staff"

What really struck me is how friendly and professional the members of staff are at the Armada. They work hard for customers and keep smiley and under control when things get very busy. I was very touched by their kindness. Our car broke down and many members of staff - including Jerry who even gave us a lift - kindly helped us and went the extra mile even though a big wedding was taking place at the hotel. We stayed for 3 days at the Armada, which was a most relaxing stay with my wife and daughter. The staff was lovely throughout the stay, very helpful and available when you need something. I don't remember waiting much for anything. The rooms were clean, spacious. Breakfast was excellent. The view on the sea is very pleasant and the beach nearby is a bonus. We stayed for friends' wedding which also took place at the hotel. The organisation by the hotel was great, lovely food and even bbq in the sun! Many many thanks for your help and a lovely stay Fred & Joanne
"Disappointed with service"

Fantastic location, very friendly and helpful staff, rooms have heating but no air-con so was very stuffy in August, bathroom uncomfortable to use, everything squeezed onto the one wall leaving very little room to manoeuvre, wc inches from wall and shower curtain sticks to you as you use shower. great breakfast selection but coffee/tea is served at your table which resulted in no coffee with breakfast on the first morning of two as we had finished eating before we where asked if we wanted tea/coffee, despite asking for it earlier. left ph charger behind in room when I left and when I called to inquire about it I was told housekeeping will ph me, they never did.will try another hotel next time.
"A really great spot"

This was a real find. We stayed here for a few nights during a week's holiday on the west coast. We arrived to a fabulous greeting on reception with lots of help w.r.t things to do in the area etc. The room we had was overlooking the ocean and it was really fabulous - spacious, great bathroom, and what a view. The sleep quality in this hotel (well certainly from the room we were in) was fantastic. I was 7 months pregnant at the time and really wanted my sleep and was a little worried when i knew there was a wedding on also... but no impact to us at all. We had breakfast both mornings and dinner one evening. The service was quite slow on both occasions. Yes the hotel was quite busy but you expect a bump-up of staff to compensate for that. But the food was pretty good. The bar in the hotel really stands out... its like a little pub that you'd find in a town, but in the hotel itself! The staff were great, and the atmosphere was really good. A good session (music) in the evening and the food was pretty good at the bar during the day... a really nice atmosphere that you never come across in typical hotel bars. We will be back here some day... fingers crossed!

I was at A wedding The carpet smells they have candle light To take away the smell The setting in the after room is thick with dirt The rooms smell with fowl But in all looks clean and deceiving A lot of gold is going missing Like my wife’s. take care someone has a good eye.
"Very well run"

Was at a wedding here a few weeks ago. As always, the food in the Armada was gorgeous, and the beautiful views really made the day. But the highlight was the excellent staff. The customer service was better than anywhere I've been. They were so professional and friendly. The wedding was very child-friendly, and when all the kids went to bed that night the staff had cookies and milk waiting in their rooms for them! Just one example of really excellent customer service. We'll definitely be back for a holiday soon.

We just checked out from a 2 night stay today and already we are planning another trip. As we arrived at Spanish point we were greeted by the beautiful views of the sea. The staff at Armada hotel couldn't have done any more from us and a special thanks to the accommodation manager Marian who made our stay even more welcoming. I must also add the cleanliness of the hotel, from the rooms to the corridors it was spotless. Although we left the kids at home we will be bringing them next time as the hotel is situated at the beach and there is a kids club to keep the little ones busy. However it would be a shame to miss the craic agus ceoil in the bar :-) overall a perfect holiday!!
"A favourite of ours"

We are a couple in our 20's, we love this area of Co. Clare. We are regular visitors to Spanish Point and have previously stayed in the Armada Holiday Cottages (which we also love btw) with family. This however was our first time staying over night in the hotel. This stay was a last minute decision due to a spell of good weather. We were greeted by a lovely lady in reception and although the hotel was fully booked she did not rush us at check in and made sure we were happy with everything! We loved the homemade cookies and lemonade after a long journey! The room was very pleasant, very clean and comfortable. Not great wifi, but didn't bother us. We ate in the restaurant that night and while a little bit slow, the food was excellent. We enjoyed the bar also! The only thing we were disappointed with was the breakfast service, it seemed to be a little bit of a shambles. There was plenty if staff but they seemed to not know what they were doing we waited for ages to order coffee and when they eventually came back they brought tea. It's only a small thing and didn't take from our break but a little bit of organisation at breakfast would go along way!! As mentioned at the start we are big fans of this area of Co Clare, especially White Strand, it's a wonderful spot We would highly recommend this hotel to friends and family. It's great value, We will certainly be back.
"Lovely hotel but disappointing food"
My boyfriend and I stayed for one night and I cannot fault the hotel itself. It is beautiful and our room was gorgeous an the staff were very friendly and helpful. The biggest let down for this hotel was the food. My boyfriend and I ate in the main restaurant. I ordered the fish and chips however my chips were not cooked and were inedible which I notified the waitress of. We then got dessert in which I had the bread and butter pudding. The dessert tasted so much like eggs I could not eat it. My boyfriend straight after dinner was physically I'll. the meal was then very over priced at roughly €60 which include main courses desserts, 1 pint which he would not drink as it was not nice despite going back to the bar with it and 1 soft drink. I would recommend this hotel and would stay again myself but would not eat in the bar/restaurant again.
"Family holiday - booked again for next year"
08/12/14 Elaine H Portlaoise, Ireland
Our family stayed in the self catering cottage beside the hotel, it was very clean and nice and had lovely views of the sea, and the beach was just at the back of the hotel. We availed of the evening kid’s camp and my kids really enjoyed the time with Ciara who ran the camp. We ate in the hotel a few times during the week with and without the kids, the food was lovely especially the fish of the day. The ice cream stand was a big hit with all of us. The hotel is clean and the staff are very friendly. There is music every night in one of the bars. The location is great and we visited the Aillwee caves, bird sanctuary and also the cliffs of mohair. The visitor centre at the cliffs is brilliant we stayed a few hours there. We were delighted with our holiday at the Armada and have booked again for next year. Elaine
