Very comfortable, one of the best locations we have been to for being away from the action but very much close to whatever you might want to go explore. Food at hotel was always fresh and well presented, all service staff was more than helpful. Mucho Gracias!!!

If you're looking for beach and a little relaxation this is the perfect place to go, nice hotel, great staff and plenty amenities. Only buts are its a 15m drive from Cabo San Lucas, and the restaurants (while great) are definitely on the steeper side of things and the fact that Wifi is poor quality and expensive

Booked an ocean front room and was not pleased with the view when we asked if we could have a room with a better view we were told there was only one other room available although we knew later that this was not the case as the hotel was empty the new room was beside a generator and at the very end of the complex looking onto waste ground certainly […] not a "ocean front quality" room. We were then very disappointed that they wanted to charge US$15 per day for a very small fridge and US$10 per day for Internet use, considering we had upgraded our room to ocean front when booking and we are also a SPG member we thought this was rather poor. We also noted that there were two dirty half full glasses on the wall at the top of the stairway from the main pool area that we walked past every day (7 days) and was still there on the day we left. There was also maintenance going on while we were there "with no warning" while sitting at pool side they started sanding and varnishing and stone cutting right next to where we were sitting. This is not what we expect when staying at this level of hotel. We have stayed at the RIU Palace hotel on previous 4 stays in Mexico but decided to try somewhere different this time not all exclusive but the restaurants were very expensive which we would not have minded if the quality was good. We stayed there for 3 nights in early Decemeber. We booked an ocean view room. The ocean view is limit with majority of scenery of a golf court. The bed is comforfy and the room is spacious. The ceiling was thin though. We hear the women living upstair wear her high heel walking back and forth all night! We changed room to 3224 next morning. The view […] is similar but there is sewage smell coming out from the toilet that we did not aware of in the very beginning. We did not change our room again as we only stay for 2 more nights. The food and drinks are great in De Cortez Restaturant. Frankly speaking, I don't think the food is expensive. Partly because we have $200 credit and partly this is the reasonable rate in a four stars resort. The breakfast in Tomatoes is not so great. The beach is magnificent. The down side is there were so many people in the resort. Some are inconsiderate and speaking loud and playing song aloud. Finally is about the transportation. The hotel offer $ 10 round trip per person to downtown which is worth a visit. The price to and from airport is very expensive. The only taxi company in the airport ask for USD 80. We take the shared van which cost $ 16 per person. On our way back to the airport, we were told by the hotel staff the only way was taxi and it cost USD 50. We take it but it seems to me there should be another option when reviewing tripadvisor. So be careful.. Read more

We loved this resort so much we decided to come back a second time....but...this time around we were a bit disappointed. Last August 2011 housekeeping was superb, this year we noticed the room was never cleaned only bed made. We figured it was standard operation but our friends which stayed a room above ours said their room was mopped and thoroughly […] cleaned everyday. Initially had an issue with a noisy HVAC unit in the first building but were quickly moved to another room. Pools and food were great; we heard the food was expensive so we opted for an all inclusive plan. One thing that wasn't disclosed until check-in was that this was truly not all inclusive in one restuarant (limited menu only) and did not include […] any dishes made with lobster. All of the staff were excellent, including the front desk, servers, and even the beach life guards! We took the handy shuttle ($10/person round trip) into town. When I decided that I wanted to go back to Cabo this summer for vacation, I told my girlfriend she could pick the place we stay since she had never been. She definitely nailed it. I have been to Cabo 9 times now and this is by far the best place I have ever stayed in there. The grounds are impeccably kept up and everyone had a smile and a warm welcome. […] They did their very best from the moment we walked in to make our stay as comfortable and pleasant as possible. The resort is part of the Sheraton Vacation Club which they did let us know about but never once tried to force a lengthy presentation on us. They just let us know if we were interested at all where to go and when but otherwise we were free to use any of the 7 pools or the restaurants freely. We took full advantage of them too. Not a single bad meal! Actually the food is amazing. The views from every single restaurant are amazing! Cabo San Lucas is less than a 10 minute drive and offers plenty of shopping, dining, fishing etc... The concierge desk arranged a sunset cruise around "El Arco" which had full bar service and hors d'ourves included. It was spectacular to get to see this Cabo landmark on a sailboat so up close. Thank you to everyone at the Sheraton Hacienda del Mar for making our getaway such a memorable and enjoyable experience. We will definitely be back in the near future. Read more

We just stayed for 4 nights, we own timeshare, but stayed in the hotel side as our kids used the timeshare rooms. Timeshare rooms are roomy with nice lanai, but dark inside with no ocean views. The drinks were watered down and the Mexican food was very Americanized. You expect this outside Mexico but when visiting another country you do want authentic food. Upon check in, they had us under EP plan, yet on Expedia we had prepaid for All Inclusive. AL really only means "Limited Only all inclusive". The worst is you have to sign for every order, so even though tips are included, you are left with that awkward feeling. Simply outstanding. Truly unbelievable. Four nights All-Inclusive and we still cannot believe all that was included. The food was exceptional, tending towards gourmet. And it was gourmet all the way at De Cortez. Whether it was the Champagne, mismosa and Bloody Mary brunch buffet or an A La Carte Eggs Benedict at Tomatoes or delicious Mojitos at Delfines […] or on the beach it always surpassed expectations. Not just the food and the drink, but the service as well. Everyone seemed to take joy in making our stay as enjoyable and unbelievable as possible. All this with a thundering surf and a beautiful ocean view with whales cavorting around. And the stars at night were a sight to behold! My girlfriend saw 4 shooting stars (she's good with those). The bed and bedding was luxurious, like sleeping on a cloud. The grounds were superbly landscaped and well-mainucured. We felt like a King and Queen for 4 days. Our garden view room had a nice balcony overlooking a courtyard with lots of bird activity. A hummingbird nest hung in a tree right outside! Sunrise was gorgeous! The resort accomodates families and couples equally well, with some separation between kiddie fun pools and more adult areas. Truly too good to be true. We can't wait to go back. We stayed at the Sheraton for a friend's wedding. Overall we loved the resort, the staff customer service was superb, and the food was decent. Our only gripe was some of the exceptions to the all-inclusive. For example, while enjoying the pool near the activities, we had to go and get our own drinks since we were considered to be on the timeshare side. […] However, we literally walked to the same bar as the servers to get our drinks and were limited to one per person. Seemed silly to us. Also, at times they seemed under staffed or unable to accommodate such a large group. We waited 2 hrs for room service to deliver dinner to us at the tequila bar and the food was freezing by time we got it. Same at the sushi sports bar. It took 45 mins. For us to even be served. The Sheraton had incredible service and everyone was extremely attentive and very kid-friendy. The rooms were very clean. The only issue is the beach is not very user friendly and we were worried about the kids in the water. The pools are amazing though!

This hotel is beautiful, comfortable, and charming. The staff was friendly and helpful. There were several kiddie pools and adult pools around the property as well as several restaurants. The concierge was very helpful. The taxis were very expensive, but the hotel has an onsite rental car company that's affordable. We are definitely going back!

Although the Sheraton site is one of the best, I was totally disappointed with service that the hotel offered. The only area where I can score them high is prices. One advice for everybody: just don't eat in the restaurants from the hotel. They will lure you with discounts as high as $200 (if you attent the time-share presentation, of course), but trust […] me, even after discounts you still pay more than if go to town, and the food quality is not that great either. On a second note the room was very noisy, the cleaning personnel started cleaning rooms as early as 7 am, and the air conditioning was not working properly. At the beginning it would work until the temperature would reach the set value, but would not satr again ever no matter how hot it would get afterwards. After complaining they "fixed it" so it would blow air constantly regardless of the thermostat setting. Luckily they showed me were the fuses were so I could shut it down manually. The Sheraton Hacienda del Mar is a wonderful property with a beautiful beach, excellent views and several pools. For some reason, they allow guests to "reserve" chairs by the pool as early as 7AM - many of whom don't return until 11AM and tie up poolside spots for the entire day, making finding a spot at the pool for a couple of hours quite challenging. […] They should change this policy to require someone from the group to be at the pool in order to hold the chairs or they relinquish their spots and come back later. Food at the resort is pricey and Americanized - not the excellent local Mexican flavors we had hoped for. Go to the WalMart and get a cooler to hold some favorite snacks and drinks as you either pay for the costly minibar snacks or they surprise you with a "refrigerator surcharge". In addition, multiple pools, gorgeous well-tended grounds, friendly, respectful staff, immaculate throughout. As two women traveling alone we felt very safe the entire time. A nice variety of restaurants […] from which to choose and a handy store on the time share side of the property had many more things than the store just off the lobby. Checkout was a breeze. I had requested a copy of the bill in the morning so I could review it before actual check out time, and all was in order. When I asked, they happily converted the pesos to USD. Great hotel. Good environment and friendly staff. Restaurants were good as well but a little pricey. We spent a lot of good time at the infinity pool. They also had a shallow pool for kids which our little ones spent time in. I will strongly suggest this hotel to anyone who wants to have a nice vacation with or without the kids.

I was at the Hacienda Del Mar for 9 days early this September. I was pleasantly surprised by the high overall standard and quality of the staff, the rooms and the facility generally. There are some great swimming pools here if you like that sort of thing, and a very well equipped gym. (The beach out front is not safe for swimming but still lovely to […] see.) One drawback, HDM is off the main road a ways, and the shuttle to Cabo itself though available is an added expense. As soon as you are done checking in, they pass you off to someone who is "going to explain the resort to you and give you maps and coupons" but she was really trying to get us to go on a tour to sell us a timeshare. We paid for a regular room but had a beautiful, huge balcony overlooking the garden and the ocean. The bathroom was very big with a stand up shower that could probably hold 3 people comfortably (not that I tried). We went in August and the resort seemed deserted. That was fine for us but just seemed strange. The staff was great and there were plenty of them to get you whatever you needed during your stay. At one point the Internet wouldn't work for us. Right away someone from the front desk came and gave us the hotel password. The pools were really nice and the beach was a lot of fun but definitely not for swimming. They have 2 for 1 drinks at certain bars in the hotel at different times throughout the day. Definitely take advantage of that because drinks and food are expensive. We ate at 3 restaurants on property and thought the food was pretty bad. I don't think we are really that picky but who knows. We also ate at Sunset da Mona Lisa and the food was great.
