Nice hotel in good location. Fitness center needs lot of improvement: not enough equipment, machines out of order, equipment in bad shape, opens too late.

When we first arrived at this hotel I was not impressed as the front exterier is not very appealing. But I soon learned not to judge a book by its cover. The rooms are very nice and quite modern and very clean. The staff are helpful however I think they could have been more freindly especially the staff working the reception. One major thing the hotel […] needs to improve is to provide more information on things to do in the area. The only information they have is about a dolphin show. They do not provide any maps of the area. If you need to book any activities they will tell you to go to the hotel up the street to book your activities which I thought was weird. Some things we did include the dolphin speed boat ride (nice boat ride but didnt see any dolphin's#, water park which was great, and shark fishing #we did not catch any sharks. Also didnt even touch a fishing rod as they do it all for you which is very disappointing#. The pool area is nice and the breakfasts were very good also #they were buffet stile and had a wide variety of hot and cold items). We didnt have dinner at the hotel. Read more

Although we were pleased with hotel & rooms it still left us disappointed with things like no Tea /Coffee machine provided in rooms & not with meals at night , We were also annoyed that we were not asked if we wanted Smoking or Non Smoking and were put in a Smoking room , My Sister was asked but it was not mentioned until we were in conversation and […] said when we walked past adjoining rooms especially when the Cleaning ladies were in there with doors open and when the doors were closed could smell smoke along the corridors , Also we found that we could not use the Balcony facilities as Guests were always out there smoking , We have never Smoked so found this really unpleasant and annoying . We did Enquire about the Policy and were told that we should have been asked and we could be moved to another room ,but by this time it was to late as we were going on a trip all day the next day and home the following day .We also found the beds uncomfortable and there was not any Entertainment etc music . The hotel is large with all the facilities you would require, including indoor and outdoor pools, sauna, jacuzzi, restaurant and bar. The rooms are fine, a good size, clean and with all the usual amenities including a balcony. The staff are professional and helpful. The location is very good, 10 minutes walk from the town beach (which is excellent) […] and from the beautiful old town. It is a good distance away from the downmarket and unattractive suburb of Montechoro, but should you want to go there, there is both a bus and a road train that leave for there directly outside the hotel. A very impressive hotel with good service and facilities. Great location for both the old town and the strip. The breakfast was good with a great selection of the usual choice. I had an evening meal too that was average (I don't think a week of the same food is a good idea). Lots of earlier comments about room location are correct but the external noise […] is nothing if you close the door and run the air con on low. I was on the ground floor directly above the staff entrance gate and on the junction of the road, this was not the suniest spot to relax on but it was great for watching the passers as they set of towards the beach. The only thing that caused concern here was not the fault of the hotel but the inconsiderate guest. I would have given top marks here but several times throughout my stay, I was woken by the banging of the corridor doors at all hours of the night and morning. On one occaision it felt like a large explosion in the corridor and both my wife and I woke startled. After that we could not sleep so the next day was not our most productive. I would re-visit this hotel and request a room on the upper floors to minimise corridor noise. Suggestion for the hotel managers - put soft closers on all the room doors!!! Read more

This resort is unusal in that there is Old and New town and both are a good distance apart but are served by novelty type train which goes in one direction only every 20mins.I thought the Old town was nicer with music bars etc while new town is the typical resort. It's possible to walk to Old town from hotel in about 10mins and it's downhill. However, […] it takes about 25mins to walk to new town or Strip as it's called so the little train comes in handy.The sand on the beach has some broken shells so need care. Also most people free lanced on the beach and renting of umbrellas and sunbeds was limited and expensive. This didn't bother me as we stayed with hotel pool which is well equipped and comfortable. As we were there in high season booking of sunbeds occured early though the hotel management discouraged it. However there were plenty beds available and parents with children preferred to be nearer the pool which is understandable. A lazy relaxed atmosphere. Lifts were among the best of any hotel I ever stayed in and were always available. I didn't like that there was no privacy on balcony as next door ones were too visible. For the image of the hotel, I think they could improve the facade at front which is a bit drab. Food at breakfast was fine.Great supermarket just up the street, if needed. I also think they could do a makeover and rename the hotel bar which is called The Dog and Duck. Read more

The hotel staff were extremely helpful on our arrival and for our entire stay. We had a late flight home on our departure, and they allowed us to keep our room on for an extra five hours, free of charge. The breakfast was more than satisfactory and offered plenty of choice. This large hotel caters mainly for Northern Europeans and Portuguese (esp. time share) and has all the services and amenities expected. Rooms and public areas are very clean, but the hotel could do with a bit of modernisation with new decor and up-rated AC units for instance. One of the hotel's front doors has been 'out of order' for over three years. The […] pool is large kidney(ish) shaped with a paddling pool for kids and is very busy which means, despite a no reservations policy, sunbeds are hard to come by. If you stay pool-side (with elevated sea-views), just beware that some of the entertainment provided in the evening can be quite loud and young children or light sleepers may have a problem with this. Road-side rooms have unattractive views but are fairly quite. We only had breakfast in the hotel and all I can say is if you like anaemic sausages and fatty streaky bacon then you'll love the food. Otherwise a fairly decent selection of alternatives. Service at breakfast is not fantastic but then it is help yourself right? A 5-10 minute walk down to the centre of Albufeira is made more manageable by a double escalator, which takes the steepest part of the hill out for you. Internet access costs 2euros for 30 minutes or 3eouros for 1hr. All in all, this is a good value hotel with as much or as little for you to do and is a great base to explorer the Algarve. Read more

Underholdningen om kvelden var spennende og personalet i baren var varme og personlige. Personalet i resepsjonen var mer upersonlige og strømlinjefomet. Standarden på rommet var grei nok, men ikke noe særlig over forventningene. […] Maten var helt alminnelig, uten de helt store overraskelser. Chambre propre et lieux communs propres, gentillesse du personnel. Hôtel bien situé par rapport au centre ville. Ging als single naar Albufeira 4 sterren hotel Alagoa. Hotel ziet erg goed verzorgd uit en personeel is vriendelijk, ook in de fitness/indoor swimming ruimte waar ze handdoeken uitgeven. Voor indoor gebruik van de faciliteiten werd een vergoeding van 7.50 euro per dag gevraagd wat ik niet van een 4 sterren hotel verwacht had. Het geheel zag er wel goed […] verzorgd uit. Ik reisde op basis van logies ontbijt maar vond de kwaliteit van het ontbijt matig. varieteit. Frisheid/rijpheid van het fruit moeten beter, ook zou meer brood varieteit en crepes een goede aanvulling zijn. Prima zwembad, het aangrenzende terras is wat stijfjes van opzet en nodigt mi te weinig uit om wat te drinken. Goede huishoudelijke service, flexibel wanneer je 'smorgens wat later uit de kamer vertrekt. Onderhoudsdienst (airco werkte niet) snelle service. Internet faciliteiten en prijzen vind ik moeten beter en inclusief zijn. Een paar desktops in de lobby tegen betaling vind ik niet meer van deze tijd. Kortom goed hotel voor een zorgeloos verblijf.
