The room is definitely one of the smaller rooms I stayed in on my trip to Ireland. There is absolutely nothing fancy about this room and it is on the main street. There was some construction going on during the day and it was warm so we had our window open so it was pretty loud but they did stop around 6 pm. I had no complaints about the staff. We were only there for 1 night so the size of the room and lack of amenities didn't bother me. You can't beat the price of the Queens. That is what sold me on this hotel. Our room was disgusting and the shower was horrible. The noise from the street during nighttime bar hours and for a few hours after they close (2-4am) was so loud that none of us could possibly sleep. This was the worst lodging experience I've ever experienced.

The hotel gives the impression that it is very old which makes for a very nice lobby but also makes for a very uncomfortable room. The bed was absolutely horrible. Having Cruise's Pub and its live Irish music next door was a plus.

I chose this hotel because I got a cheap deal... But its so true as the saying goes "Pay for what you get"! The staff were not that friendly or welcoming, there was no room service at all, not even for breakfast! My room had not been cleaned properly either, the cups,saucers & spoons were sticky & manky with dried in milk. When I took a shower I got […] absolutely scaulded as the temperature setting knob was broken as no matter what temperature setting i turned it to it was still piping hot, the bathroom could do with getting a big job done on it, manky limescaled taps & broken tiles made this place look run down. The first night I stayed it was ok, TV not working correctly, slamming doors but not huge difficulty. The second night there was music downstairs and noise all night on the street after the bar/nightclub closed. A lot of drunk loud noisy people. Nice pub & restaurant, but my room at least needed work. Shower water only lukewarm, no connection telephone connection, no hairdryer. Basically, there doesnt seem to be anyone ensuring basics in room are kept ticking over. The room wasnt plush, but it was clean which would be ok if these basic services were attended to. The hotel is very ran down and the room i stayed in was in bad condition, needed a good painting. 2 chairs in the room had a leg broken on each chair so when sat on they collapsed and I fell onto the floor. The handles on the windows were broken and hanging off. The bathroom was disgusting with hairs all over the bath and sink! The fire alarm went off […] 3 times as they were testing it and resetting it, this was from 9.30pm to 10.0pm at night, not a very good time to be testing the alarm. The noise from the bar was unreal and then the crowd from the disco was very noisy...No sleep untill 4am in the morning. On checking out of the hotel, the receptionist did not ask how our stay was. ...because the bar/nightclub will be right beneath you (open till 4 a.m) and cheering crowds will pass by outside alot. So a good place to party maybe. Toilet wasn't correctly cleaned too, so not very nice stay altogether.
