That really upset me and made me not want to stay there anymore. I also found one live roach in the room. We had a great time here! We were initially disappointed after expecting an early check-in and not getting that, and we weren't alone in that expectation. It's so nice to have garage parking and a covered walkway. The pools and putt-putt were a lot of fun. The evening shows were great! Reserved a room here for 3 nights, 4 days. When we first entered our room, the room was not cleaned. The bed wasn't made, there was sand on the floor, dishes on the sink, and trash was piled up. Called the manager, and said that they would either get us a new room, or wait until the housekeeper cleans it. We checked in at 2pm, 2hrs earlier. However, […] they should have known that the room wasn't cleaned before we entered it. Anyways, the next day, we told the housekeeper that we didn't want our room cleaned, and hang the do not disturb sign. However, on the 2nd day we were there, we removed the sign and housekeeper knocked at 9am. Told her to come an hr later, since we were getting ready to head out. She said she will return to clean the room an hr later, but she never did. On the 3rd day, there was no housekeeper at all... So for 3 nights, 4 days, no one cleaned our room... We understand the first day, since we asked her not to. But she never did clean our room on the 2nd, 3rd and 4th day. Also, when we checked in, I booked a non-smoking room, and the receptionist said that since we booked from a third party, that my preference was not listed. When clearly, I have a print out of my booking and it states that I wanted non-smoking. After 10mins of talking to her, she finally accommodated us to a non-smoking room. I was at the resort with my daughter and her 4 year old son and my other daughter's 9 year old girl. My daughter and I have been to Myrtle Beach many times over the years but this was the first time for the children. I was very happy with the resort - we had the beach right there, several pools, a miniature golf course and spray park area all within […] walking distance. The parking garage was very nice with an over-street walkway to the resort. We were within a very short distance by car to every place we wanted to visit, shop, etc. I regret that we didn't eat any meals at the resort because the restaurant looked very nice. "Fire alarms and a lazy river with dirty pond water"
We reserved this place because the lazy rivers and pools were so enticing. However, we got there and saw that some were filthy, and being drained. Pools closed. Then, during the night the fire alarm is pulled and we evacuated with a small child. After waiting outside and watching the firemen come and go, we got no explanations or apologies from the […] staff, who were BTW serving drinks in the bar as we evacuated. Yeah, apparently it was a regular occurrence! We soon found this out for sure when it went off again the next day. I forgot to mention that when we arrived we were required to make a $100 security deposit, despite the fact they already had my credit card number! Also, the air conditioner was so loud, we were awakened each time it came on and went off. This place is full of cigarette smoking clientele who obviously don't mind a non-family environment. "Dirty hotel! They should have paid me to stay!"
This was by far the dirtiest hotel I have ever stayed at. When we got there the indoor pool wasn't working (pump hit by lightning the night before so not their fault), out of the 6 or 7 hot tubs not one of them was hot, the elevators took turns being broken, the change machine in the laundry ate my change, and our smoke detector was not hooked up in […] our room. How this hotel managed to get a 3* rating is completely beyond me. I complained to expedia and was offered a coupon for an extra $50 for my trouble however when I complained to the hotel manager she simply listened and offered me nothing. It looks as if it has been 5 to 10 years since any painting or upkeep has been done. As a comparison I stayed at a 2 * Days Inn on my way home which by the same standards should have been a 10 *.
