"Soft, comfortable beds!!!"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on Feb 26, 2013
Was a good place to spend the night, beds were very comfortable for my wife and myself. Stayed here because hotels are too expensive on the weekends in Galveston, wasn't very far at all from Galveston. Breakfast was a little more than the usual continental, had some microwavable breakfast sandwiches and pancake sausage sticks. Would stay here again for sure. Hotel was very close to interstate but not right beside it so noise level was very good, several eateries right around it also, as well as shopping centers.
"Sight See Boardwalk"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on Feb 26, 2013
Hotel very close to Kemah Boardwalk not even 3 minutes. Stayed in #105,very clean room spacious restroom layout very cool. All hotel rooms should look like that. Be staying again next time in area.

"Overall great pick"
I only have two quick complaints about this stay. First, when booking the hotel, the name was called Galveston on the Gulf. I had read earlier reviews that said the name was previously Escapes to the Gulf, but I figured surely by now they would have changed the signs. If I hadn't known this, we would have been lost because the name still hasn't been […] changed. I asked the lady in the office and she said they were in transition. Also, we got there at night and drove in circles because there was no clear sign stating where to check in. Our room was one of the ones on the end and had its own washer and dryer which came in handy. I was told the other rooms had to share one. We had a one bedroom deluxe. It had a large balcony and nice kitchen area. It was also very clean. The pool was great for the kids. On Friday morning, we were the only ones there. Even as the weekend went on it really never got crowded. The hotel is a few miles down from the seawall area, so it's also less crowded also at the beach. Overall, we had a great stay and would come here again. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"We will be back!"
A great view with a balcony and right on the beach..no walking accross the street. It was like you had your own private beach, most people were from the hotel. When I booked I did not realize it came with a full kitchen and a washer/dryer in the room. We were very happy with our stay and will definatly be back!Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"EXCELLENT HOTEL/CONDO FOR RELAXING"
I read all the reviews prior to booking on Expedia. I wanted to add to the reviews because our visit on Thursday, August 9, 2012 was "WONDERFUL"! I would recommend it to anyone wanting a quite atmosphere for family. It's not a party place and that is a BIG PLUS. The staff was excellent, the room was beautiful with a fully stocked kitchen and the bathroom […] was beautiful with a huge walk in shower and a wonderful garden tub. Towels and beach towels were provided. There was washer & dryer, microwave, coffee maker, hair dryer, electric stove, ice box, dishwasher and alarm clock. All you need to do is bring your food to cook. We had room W24 - second floor with perfect Beach Front View. We arrived early before noon (check in was 4:00) but they had our room ready in 45 minutes (yeah). The sign on outside of Hotel/Condo says "Escapes", but booked it was "Galveston on Gulf Resort", guess under new management. The lady at the front desk was so friendly and helpful, she deserves a BIG STAR. The only thing I would want changed is the mattress, it was not comfortable for my bad back. To us this is a 5 STAR RESORT. The beach was very clean not crowded like the seawall. It had a long boarded walkway for easy access to the beach. WE WILL BACK. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Great location-right on the beach"
We had an awesome stay. This place is great for families as all rooms offer a full kitchen, very nice pool area and immediate beach access! Most rooms feature ocean views. There is even a handicapped pool chair. The only downsides are as follows: the pool is not for small kids as there is no kiddie pool and the most shallow area is 3.6 feet. No "close" […] restaurants; although it was a good thing for me because I didn't want to be in the Galveston busy areas. The beach is not over-run and crowded..almost like having a private beach. "Nice place to spend several days"
I only spent one night and it was really just to sleep. I did enjoy the jacuzzi tub though. I think it would be a lovely place to spend several days as it has a full kitchen, nice pool and access to the beach.Genuine Expedia guest review
"(((_~)) GREAT"
Right on the beach. Away from the most congested areas it was worth to drive a couple of extra miles. The beach was way cleaner than other beaches in Galveston. Condo with a full size kitchen including fridge with ice maker, full size stove, oven, microwave, dishwasher, and all the small appliances too including a blender, coffee maker and toaster; […] bakeware, cookware and tableware are also available plus washer and dryer in the kitchen. King size bed in room and queen size sleeper sofa plus couch in the living room. Spacious bathroom with access from the bedroom and the common area. Balcony and great view of the gulf from every room. Price is unbeatable. Will definitely go back. *****call earlier than check in time and if room is available there is [ NO EXTRA COST ] for early check in****** Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"We'll probably return!"
Very good! Our 1st trip to Galveston - we brought 2 grandsons who enjoyed the quiet beach & pool - not far from Moody Gardens and went there every day. All staff was friendly & very helpful, and other guests didn't have late, loud parties! Views & amenities were as advertised, location nice & quiet. Only cons were there was no 7-11 or small restaurant […] in walking distance, and I'm sorry I delayed making reservations in time to get a 2 br unit; our 1 br unit was a bit snug for 2 cranky geezers and energetic 10 and 17 y/o boys! Oh, my wife prefers being on a noisy, tacky boardwalk - we didn't see anything like that in our travels, so we'll probably return to Escapes! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great for small families or couples."
Located on West beach with direct access to the beach, no sea wall with five lanes of traffic to cross in order to walk to the beach. It's just a mile or two past where the sea wall ends, so it’s close to Schlitterbahn and Moody Gardens. The staff was great, very friendly and accommodating. Only dislike was there were no public BBQ grills and the […] bed was a little firm. The staff said the property will be undergoing a major interior renovation which will be completed by the end of 2012. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Great place"
The hotel is fantastic. The staff is very courteous and the hotel is very clean. Our room was awesome, there is plenty of room and privacy for parents. Our view from the balcony was spectacular and the sounds from the ocean very relaxing. The location is great because it is away from the crowd but still close enough not to cause any inconvenience. It […] has it's own access to the beach and it is much cleaner than the east side where all the attractions and people are. We enjoyed it do much, we are planning on making it an annual trip. Great room and view of Gulf. Only stayed one night. Wish we had booked to weekend. Hope to return in the fall or early winter.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Great for a weekend getaway"
This was a great little hotel for a weekend getaway. I can also see staying there for a week long vacation. The layout was great as well. My only compliant is that we were staying Friday and Saturday night and twice during the day on Saturday, staff opened the door without knocking. The second time I was told they thought we were checking out that morning. […] Also, we asked for a crib and never got it and were never told there would not be one. "Comfortable stay..."
Great Hotel! A little ways from night life, but comfortable all around. The name on Expedia is different then what the building says...so pay attention to address - not the actual hotel name.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Great beach resort!!!"
Our family had a great time! The beach was wonderful, not rocky at all. We only stayed two nights, which was not long enough. We plan to return next year and hope to stay at this resort again. I looked at other hotels where you had to cross the street to get to the beach and I am so happy we went with this hotel as the beach is right there!!Genuine Expedia guest review
"Great stay for couples or families."
The location of the condo was perfect for us. A short distance from the main Seawall area, away from the heavier traffic and people, but very convenient to stores and the state park entrance. I had two kayaks strapped on my truck throughout our stay. Even though they were locked with a steel cable, I felt much safer here than at the main hotels on Seawall. […] very private parking lot with no foot traffic around like the Seawall hotels. The room was comfortable, and had everything we needed for two couples. Great shower, huge bathroom, and jetsprays in the graden tub! Only complaint was a noisy cieling fan in the bedroom. We plan a repeat stay. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"More Pros Than Cons"
The facility is clean with good access to the pool and beach. The suite was comfortable with the appropriate amenities. The TV sets are old and outdated but the channel selection was good. The tile in our unit was chipped in a couple of places and the floor looked like it needed sweeping the whole time. (even though it had been swept). We were surprised […] with a $115 hit on our credit card at check in. This was not spelled out in the listing. They promised to reverse it upon checkout. The boardwalk to the beach was closed for painting the Friday and Saturday that we were there. It was only available for use one day that we were there. Seems like they should have picked a less busy time other than the weekend. Since these are time share suites they do not offer maid service. The room, however was supplied with ample towels during our three day stay. All in all, we would return for a short stay. They don't allow pets so we would not book this facility for a whole week. very nice condo, perfect size for two people getting away for our anniversary. Very Clean and like a small apartment with a tiny balcony to see the gulf. Pool was great and access to beach easy. The only thing is that when we were trying to find the condos he name on the outside was escapes not galveston on the gulf and the phone number on our itinerary […] was wrong so had to call hotels.com for new number. "Tons for your money"
Great place to stay. Price per night can't be beat when you compare it to other hotels with comparable ratings. We will be going back later this summer with the kids for a longer stayGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Weekend getaway"
Fantastic location and lodging for a relaxing stay right on the beach, which is rare in Galveston. No 'across the street' stuff - it's at the end of the seawall. Only disappointment was the 10:00 am check out time. When you can't check in until 4 pm #earlier if they have your room ready#, check-out time at 10 am seems a bit extreme.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Great location/bad beds"
The resort is nice and room was fantastic. The beds were not comfortable and the sleeper sofa mattress was terribly uncomfortable. We had to sleep on the couch with the cushions because the sofa was so bad. Other than that, it was great.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Will stay there again."
We only stayed one night, but we plan to return for a longer stay next time. It is conveniently located right on the beach. You don't have to walk across a busy Seawall Blvd. to get to the beach. The accommodations were very nice and the staff was friendly, and also the entire facility was family friendly.Genuine Expedia guest review
In general, we were not pleased with the room size and the location to all the sights and things to do on the island. Our biggest problem was the resort name changed and we had to drive for almost an hour looking for the resort.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Everthing was good except for the bed."
Everthing was good except for the bed, we didn't sleep good the first night and left around 11 pm the next night. we were glad it was only two nights.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Very nice place!"
We enjoyed how close we were to the beach and how quiet this area of Seawall Blvd was. Our room was E51 and although closer to the front of the property, it still had a nice view of the beach and the homes/street on Seawall Blvd. The bathroom and kitchen in our condo was much bigger than expected. The bathtub and shower were extra large also. It was […] a very nice stay. The only thing we missed was having a restaurant or bar on site but we had a car so drove down the street to eat. It was much more crowded down the road than where this is located so it was peaceful and felt like our own little world. I would definitely stay here again!! Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
