"Perfect for a ball game or for a downtown event."
This hotel was very clean on the inside and the service was fabulous. The staff were kind and pleasant. The hotel's feel was very old-fashioned but in a good way where they didn't make you feel like you were a number or paycheck. The location is in a strange part of the city BUT it is so close to the facilities that city offers with a shuttle service […] offered. Its in walking distance to the ball parks (Pirates or Steelers). For the price you can't beat it and I would rather stay here than the chain hotels in the city any day. I was going to stay at one of the chains but for the price, I figured I would take my chances. GLAD I DID! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Beautiful historic building convenient location"
The staff went out of their way to make sure we were well taken care of. The restoration of the building is well done, providing the best of modern convenience while preserving the smallest detail of it's history and charm. It was the best hotel experience I've had for quite some time. I would recommend this hotel and it's staff to anyone. "Great for location to the ballpark"
Great stay. Would get a king size room rather than the queen. Our room was facing the street, which had a fair amount of traffic noise. However, we loved the location. It was close to everything we wanted to do. The staff was awesome. They have a FREE shuttle that will take you to and from the ballgame or to any other local location. "Quality, History, Relaxing, no hussle & bustle"
This beautifully restored monastery is a real piece of history. Meticulously restored, & real attention to detail. Rooms & all surroundings are remarkable. With a great work-out gym, business office, & 'European/German-style breakfast, it is hard to beat. And, did I mention "FREE" parking..........in Pittsburgh? Well that's unheard of, but it is offered […] here, along with a ready & willing shuttle driver with a passenger van, always polite & well-versed with all of the sites to see in Pittsburgh. "Last minute booking"
Hotel was clean, easy to locate, minutes from The Strip. Hotel staff were very professional and friendly. Perfect!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
My wife and I arrived late in the evening, and Nikki the bar tender was delighted to fix us sandwiches and find a slice of cake. Enjoyable bar crowd of four or five people. One of the owners stopped in to welcome us, he already knew several other guests. We had room 303, which was a large queen space, with a view of the downtown city lights and the […] ball field. On a game night, this could be a problem for some folks. Rooms in the front of the building get a small amount of noise from the railroad across the street, rooms in the back hallway are likely much quieter. Nice breakfast room extensive selection of cold cuts, cereals, eggs, etc. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Good hotel close to downtown."
The Priory Hotel is located north of downtown, crossing the river, close to the main sport arenas. The area is a little bit rundown, but seems to be safe enough to walk on the streets at night, but not recommended. The big advantage is that you are 5 - 10 minutes away from most attractions, one of the main highways faces the hotel, plus you have free […] parking available in front of the main entrance. There is a large supermarket and a gas station nearby. Rooms are quite spacious, clean and well equipped. The hotel offers a decent breakfast included in your room rate. In short, good hotel located in a poor area, but very convenient if you are visiting with your car. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Great Location for Downtown Pittsburgh"
The downfall is that the neighborhood is a little rough is places but we had no trouble walking at night and the hotel has a shuttle that runs till 11. Beautiful historic hotel inside and out.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The Priory is a nice hotel, and the staff offered to drive us just about anywhere we wanted to go. We opted to walk, but it was great to know that if we needed a ride back, all we had to do was call. There's a lovely courtyard where we took our doughnut and coffee and enjoyed a leisurely morning in the shade of the trees, surrounded by the pretty flowers. […] Great hotel for a great deal! "Great B&B Feel near PNC Park..."
The Priory Hotel is located walking distance to PNC Park. Downtown is just across the Roberto Clemente Bridge from PNC. "Comfortable and with Character"
The Priory comes by its name honestly. It was built as a residence for Benedictine monks, whose order is known for hospitality. Saved from demolition for a freeway and repuropsed as a hotel, it now serves business and pleasure travelers, rather than pilgrims--and does so with a level of character in decor, furninshings, and other little unique touches […] that a cookie-cutter chain hotel can't provide. Our welcome was warm, the staff responsive to questions, our room spacious and comfortable, and our breakfast made special by fresh pastries from the Priory's own bakery around the corner. And it offers free off-street parking! Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

I would definitely stay here again. The hotel has a B&B feel to it.The staff was so friendly and helpful. They answered all questions with a smile and if they didn't know the answer they found someone who did. The rooms were very clean. The only downside was the bathrooms are very small in the standard room, next time i'll upgrade my room.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Classic Accommodation in Pittsburgh"
I have stayed at The Priory many times over the past 15 years and each has been an outstanding experience! The rooms are always spotless upon arrival and are kept that way each day by the great housekeeping staff. The daily complimentary breakfast is a real treat and offers something for any kind of diet -- fresh fruit, meats, cheeses, bagels & pastries, […] cereal, hardboiled eggs, etc. The front desk staff are both courteous/friendly and efficient. This hotel was an actual priory at one time. It is one of many beautiful, historic buildings preserved by the city of Pittsburgh. "Nice, comfortable, pretty hotel"
It was a nice stay indeed - staff was overall courteous, and it was helpful to have the shuttle van available for nearby pickups or dropoffs. "I love this hotel !!! I love this hotel !!"
What can one say about an 1888 religious convent converted into a beautiful hotel where every room is different ? All I can say is that this is one of the best stays that I have had in a hotel ever and with my business travel, I stay in many, many hotels during the month. My stay at the Priory was for the Pittsburgh Marathon weekend and I was delighted […] to have the convenience of location near the start and finish. "Great historic hotel"
I loved the old charm of this lovely hotel, and the staff was kind, pleasant and helpful. The neighborhood is a bit sketchy, but nothing that would ever keep me away. "Sweet, quiet, & convenient"
The Priory hotel was a beautiful, quaint hotel to stay. It was only about a mile outside of the city so I didn't have to deal with too much traffic. The continental breakfast was delicious & the staff was friendly & knowledgeable about the city & activities to do while toutwere there. I'll definitely stay there again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The Priory is delightful gem of a hotel and is convenient to downtown by car. My stay at the Priory was very nice. The location is great - you can walk around and view the historic homes nearby. My reason for staying there was to check out the neighborhood for future residence […] and I definitely decided it is where I want to live when I move to Pittsburgh. "A great place to stay in Pittsburgh"
We were looking for a place to stay in Pittsburgh when we were there for a concert at the Consol Center. We had delicious sandwiches in the Monk's Bar before the concert and enjoyed a nice buffet breakfast […] the following morning before hitting the road for our return home. "Not close to arenas, shopping, or vacation-focused"
The hotel was quaint, and the staff were efficient and friendly. No wi-fi was an issue for us, as was transportation. The .9 mile advertised distance to the Consol Energy Center was as the crow flies and not reality. The hotel's shuttle got us there, but we were on our own getting back and cabs were in high demand and next to impossible to find.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Beautiful, tons of character, good location"
Historic, beautiful old building made into a hotel. I can't say enough about how nice it was inside. High ceilings, beautiful moldings, classic decor. The bathrooms could use a little bit of updating, but all was very clean and well kept. The location was a short walk to The Andy Warhol museum (about 9 blocks), PNC Park (about 13 blocks?), the riverwalk, […] etc. There is a subsidized housing building across the street, but it didn't seem sketchy. And if you feel uncomfortable walking back and forth, they offered a free shuttle to all the local attractions and gave the driver's cell number at the desk to schedule pick ups. Continental breakfast in the morning was much nicer than most, with lots of cut fresh fruit, pastries, yogurts, cereal, hard boiled eggs, bagels, toast, coffee, teas, juices all in a charming dining room. Great price for this lovely boutique hotel and it included free parking. Very happy with our stay there and would definitely recommend this hotel. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
As mentioned by other reviewers, nice to have a shuttle service. Only problem is if you're out after hours. "Converted monastery makes for easy recommendation"
Located just inside Pittsburgh's Germantown District, the Priory is a converted one time monastery that maintains all the architectural detail and charm of its past. Most likely you're accustomed to hotels that pretty well look the same and from that standpoint, The Priory will probably take you aback with its Victorian features (i.e. the windows in […] the rooms are large, and the stairs narrow and creaky). Rest assured though, the room and hotel in general is equipped with modern amenities and offers a very comfortable bed to sleep in and a shower that is better than most of my prior hotel experiences. Near the entryway is a bar, if you're so inclined. The staff was friendly the few times we needed them. A quick tip: the parking situation is less than ideal. The Priory is on Pressley Street which is a one way and the first lot you come to is at the very end and is essentially a triangular lot where others can easily block you in. Use the lot that is around the bend to the left and which rests to the right of the three-way stop ahead. This will make for much less stress when trying to go anywhere. That being said, The Priory is very conveniently located to PNC Park (home of the Pirates) and Heinz Field (home of the Steelers) so it isn't out of the question to walk to either location if you should want to. Beyond that, it is right next the main thoroughfares and you should easily get to wherever you need to go. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

The hotel is very nice...close to restaurants and downtown Pittsburgh sporting events, the River walk and many events and museums.
