"Loved the hotel van & drivers were great"
Everyone was extremely helpful. Breakfast was good. The hotel van drivers were VERY knowledgeable of Pittsburgh & got us to where we wanted to go. Loved the atmosphere of the hotel...beautiful. Would definitely stay again & have already recommended to friendsGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Holy Moly, Impressive."
This building is a re-purposed Benedictine monastery. We were told our room would have originally housed 4 or 6 monks. It was quite comfortable. The Priory lays out a continental breakfast far superior to most hotels. We walked to an event downtown at the Toonseum, about a mile. It was a pleasant walk, but the Priory offers a shuttle much of the day. […] Pittsburgh has some lovely townhouses and well-to-do citizens, but there are also pockets of extreme poverty near the Priory, like all the best hotels in town. Of course, this is the case in most U.S cities. I mention that only for those unfamiliar with the Northside neighborhood, so that they take care walking late at night. The Priory is a lovely hotel. One of our favorite hotels ever, anywhere! If you like historical preservation, this is your place. The staff are friendly. The location in old German Town is close to everything in downtown Pittsburgh, and they offer a free shuttle. They provide a free European style breakfast buffet that made us feel like we were in Paris […] or Rome. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Across the bridge from downtown"
Perfect location, private parking and great experience overall. Room is spacious and extremely quiet.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
quiet for very nice hotel; i love european style boutique hotel, bed and breakfast style; the only thing that was missing was room service; though they had sandwiches available at the bar; and there were no turkey, fish or chicken choices at the continental breakfast; but i'd definitely stay there againGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Charm, Location, Comfort - What a Deal!"
We stayed at The Priory when we were in town for a late concert at MCG Jazz Club, as the hotel is only a few minutes from the venue. If you usually stay at traditional hotel chains, treat yourself to a refreshing experience at The Priory. The website is informative, but it does not fully capture the charm of this hotel. The owners have put a lot of […] thought into the decor, resulting in a European-style boutique hotel. A generous continental breakfast with a few unique items is included in the room rate. Two parking lots are available; one requires a room key for access. Even though the hotel is close to I-279 we didn't hear any road noise. We would have taken advantage of the free shuttle if the concert had been earlier in the evening. Be sure to take a few minutes to check out the Grand Hall - it's worth the time! "Good Value for your Dollar"
Helpful & courteous staff. Breakfast is above normal. I'd gladly stay here again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The neighborhood is very old Germantown section of Pittsburgh. The hotel has an extremely cool history and is an interesting building. Such an old building with top notch character that was renovated recently. It now has new very comfortable rooms but still kept the old architecture and feel. A great new find for us. We will be back. We stayed here […] for a show at Mr Smalls in Millvale. Couldn't have been a better choice of places to stay. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Beautiful, historic hotel"
Extremely friendly and helpful staff, free shuttle around town, less than a mile to PNC Park and Heinz Field. Room, bedding, and bathroom were clean. Wood burning fireplace was the perfect touch on cold winter days and nights. Monk's Bar was a great for starting or ending the evening.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Calming environment - great for North Shore travel"
Every one was great, kind, helpful Great location Nice environmentGenuine Expedia guest review
"A splendid building,"
The building is a great example of effective and efficient adaptive reuse. An old priory itself, it has innate charm and is a welcome relief from the banality of chain hotels. I Alwys stay there when in Pittsburgh. The FOAM pillows are my only criticism however. They are ghastly. Ugh!!!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Hotel was beautiful! Very impressive! Loved the safe and the robes in the deluxe king. Bed was comfy with lots of pillows. Neighborhood is a little run down, but we didn't have any problems and we came back late at night from the casino. Would stay there again!Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Will not be visiting this hotel again..."
The hotel atmosphere was very nice. The front desk staff was very RUDE! I have never been to a establishment that had worse service. Because of the experience at the front desk, I will NOT be back to this hotel.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Had a nice stay at the Priory, the room was clean, and very big. Staff was nice, young, not very familiar with the City. Neighborhood a bit sketchy. Short walk to downtown. Only issue we had was with the shower drainage, by the end of the shower you were standing in six inches of water. Shuttle was helpful.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"hotel room was cold"
The hotel was nice looking. Breakfast was great. Staff was nice. However, My room was cold. I tried to turn heat up , but room only got up to 70 during the night. I froze all night. The drains in the bathroom were slow draining. While getting a shower had to stand in water. Nice hotel I would stay again if these problems were fixed. "Great little hidden gem in Pittsburgh!"
We've been visiting Pittsburgh for years, but this is the first time we've ever stayed at the Priory. What a neat little hotel! First of all it was an excellent surprise not to have to pay for parking. Most places in Pittsburgh charge a minimum of $20 a night to park. Our room was ready when we arrived, and the front desk employee was very nice. We […] loved the hallways and layout of the Priory, it had so much character. Yes, our room was a little small, but with only two of us I found it cozy, and the high ceilings and vintage fixtures and furniture were great. I've seen complaints about the shower being small as well, but we liked it too. The Monk's bar was a wonderful little place to visit, and the bartender was very personable. The only complaint we had at all was that the WiFi wasn't working while we were there, but this seemed to be an issue hotel-wide, not just in our room. Not a huge deal by any means. We will definitely try the Priory again! Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
We were very happy with our stay at The Priory. It is a quaint place to stay, the room was very clean and the staff was extremely friendly. If I stayed I again, I would ask to be in the old section as it has a little more charm than the newer section. But the new room was very clean. I would definitely stay there again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"A quaint boutique hotel"
I really enjoyed my stay and experience at this hotel. The only one concern I had was the drafty windows because of the age of the hotel. Other than that, no problems at all.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Unique Hotel Conveniently located"
The hotel had a wonderful historic charm and was clean, welcoming, and easily accessed. The brochures mention being within "walking distance" of many attractions which may be true in warmer temps but even in the winter, it was just a five minute drive to downtown and many sights. They have a small complimentary parking lot across from the hotel. At […] one point, there was no spot for me and while they advertise a second lot, I could access it so I had to drive around the one way loop several times until someone left. Other than that, I enjoyed the room, the Monk's Bar where you can grab a drink or a light meal and the complimentary German-themed breakfast complete with cold cuts! "A Great FInd"
This Hotel while a little off the beaten path is well worth travelling that path. As a business traveler I stay in hotels all of the time that are pretty much the same. This place was clean and was interesting at every turn. The room was large comfortable and more than equal to my needs. "Excellent proximity to the Benedum!"
My wife and I had a wonderful Thursday evening celebrating her birthday in Pittsburgh, staying at the Priory and taking in 'Wicked' at the Benedum. We loved the quaintness and low key atmosphere of the Priory. When checking in we were able to schedule a time to be taken to the Benedum via the shuttle van. After relaxing in our room for a couple hours, […] we were dropped off at the door step to the Benedum by Henry. We called just as the play was ending and Henry was waiting at the front door as we made our way out. Upon returning we spent a hour or so at Monk's bar... actually just outside the bar in the sitting room... it was relaxing and fun. In the morning we took advantage of the expanded continental breakfast and it was as advertised, having much more than the average continental breakfast. The staff from the front desk personnel, to Henry, to the barmaid, to the breakfast attendant, to the housekeeping staff were all very freindly and patient. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
I absolutely loved everything about this hotel. One of the greatest perks was the access to a shuttle to take you downtown. Pick up and drop off included.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Enjoyed my stay"
This is a lovely hotel, a bit unique inasmuch as it is a converted monastery. The queen room is a bit small, but nicely decorated. It would have been nicer had there been a lamp or some lighting at the desk. In addition, the wifi was very weak in the room. Despite these few negatives, the hotel is very comfortable and well worth the stay. The most crucial […] question is would I go back if in the area??? Absolutely. What a wonderful staff they have working to make your stay even better. Great hotel for cost. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
We stayed just one night, and were very impressed with our stay. We really were only there to sleep, but we did enjoy their breakfast in the morning, which was excellent. We loved the quaintness. "Close to everything and reasonably priced!"
Easy and reliable shuttle system. Awesome and helpful staff. As well as very nice decor and breakfast. Overall added to a great weekend in the city. Definitely a stealGenuine Expedia guest review
We stayed in a king room in the new wing for one night. Everything was really clean and comfortable. Breakfast was superb, and the architecture makes it an interesting and unique place to stay. Far more character than a chain hotel, yet the standards are clearly higher than one would expect for any kind of hotel at this price level in the center of […] Pittsburgh. The location, though a bit hard to find, was fine for us since we were driving, and the free parking was fine though unsecured. We just didn't leave anything in the car. Second year in a row we stayed at The Priory while going to Steeler games. Staff is very friendly and hotel has a lot of character. My 13 yr old daughter and I stayed at The Priory for one night while my oldest daughter was in a dance competition at a larger hotel in Pittsburgh. The hotel staff were very helpful and pleasant. We took the shuttle to the other hotel and back and it was very convenient.Genuine Expedia guest review
This was one great place to stay. If you love historical restored facilities this is a real treat. A restoration of old facility that provided all the modern conveniences of a new motel/hotel. "Great hotel, questionable location"
While The Priory is indeed as quaint and picturesque as the photos suggest, the neighborhood leaves a lot to be desired. The upsides: a great room, comfortable bed, nice staff and free breakfast. The downsides: situated in an iffy neighborhood. If you're looking for a great deal and free breakfast, stay here. If you're looking for a hotel in safe walking […] distance to downtown, this is not your best bet. Yes, we did make it to the Warhol hotel in 5 minutes, but I definitely wouldn't walk home at night.
