I strongly recommend NOT staying here unless you don't care about the security of your items left in the room. Our balcony door would not lock and appeared to have been broken into on several occasions! The room smelled of mold and mildew! "Ocean Plaza Hotel-most disgusting stay ever"
The Ocean Plaza was by far the worst hotel experience I have encountered. There was food in all hallways and stairwells, the beds had dirty linens with boogers and bloody scabs on pillows and sheets. Our room was on the 7th floor, however the elevator only went to the 6th floor. You had to lug all your belongings up and down the last flight of steps. "Good Short Stay on Limited Budget"
Location not bad right on the beach. Rooms need a real cleaning especially under the beds. Patio door would not lock properly and could be opened by just rattleing the door. "What a Nightmare"
well hotel floor was stick and super dirty(black feet within seconds of walking on it), bed sheets smelled like they where not clean, i called to ask for a extra pillow and they said they didn't had any, we immediately went and bought disinfectant , Toilet had poop stains on it , Elevator only goes to the 6th floor *we where on the seven and i specified […] i needed a elevator since i had babies*, Pool wasnt even open. The staff was beyond horrible , they didnt knew where the pool was, another one told us they didnt had a pool, if i asked them any question( all 4 employees i talked to) said different things. "SLEEP IN YOUR CAR!"
Me and my two friends stayed here for our senior spring break, so keep in mind we are teenagers with very low standards and did not expect that much to begin with. One night when we got back our lights didn't work so we went to the lobby but there was no one there and a sign telling us to come back at 8AM, but apparently this was our fault because we […] were suppose to assume they owned the hotel next door and go over there. After waiting around all day for the maintenance men to come to fix our lights and right after they left our bathroom flooded. All week our sink leaked and our shower drain didn't work. The water flowed out into our room soaking our cloths and ruining my camera. They were reluctant to let us even switch room and wouldn't upgrade us. Overall this was the worst hotel any of us have every stayed at not worth it even if it is a a cheap cost. We felt unsafe going outside and I felt unsafe parking my car in their parking lot. If you care about your life or the lives of the people you are staying with GO SOMEWHERE ELSE. This place is a health hazard and has completely unreasonable staff. "Would highly recommend"
We were a little scared after reading some reviews of this hotel. When arrived after 9pm on a Saturday and the lady at the desk was very friendly. Told us the policies and had me sign some paperwork. We loaded up the cart and headed to our room. When we walked in, the AC was already turned down low! (and by low, I mean 60 degrees!!!!) Everything was […] clean, even the oven was clean inside! The elevator was slow and sortof small, but we fit a stroller and luggage cart in there just fine. The water pressure in the toliet was slow. So there was no double flushing! The water pressure in the shower was AWESOME! We stayed in room 604. The only thing was the carpet was a little torn at the kitchen, but who really cares! It was located close to everything we needed! We were able to walk up the the amusement park and Friendly's to eat. The next day we wanted to go to the aquarium. The tickets online were $21.99, but we bought them from the front desk for $18.00!!!! We were glad to save that $8! The lady also gave us the quickest/easiest directions to Broadway at the Beach! I highly recommend this hotel to anyone! It is older, but I wasn't expecting the Ritz! I am pretty picky considering I have a 6 month old, and after this weekend, I would def go back! P.S. "Close to everything, but few basic comforts"
The front desk clerk was pleasant. The room's light bulbs in the entrance and vent hood were burned out but were quickly replaced by a very nice man named Terry. The remote control and phone had to also be replaced. That was taken care of within minutes of calling. However, the kitchen was extremely poorly equipped. Ended up using only the microwave. […] The walls behind the electric range was dirty with dripping grease stains. The cabinets were in bad shape with pieces of laminate missing. The visible side of the box-spring was badly stained. "Can't beat the price for Ocean Front!"
My husband and I recently stayed at the Ocean Plaza in an oceanfront efficiency room. It was very nice to have a full size refrigerator and counter space in the room. The beds were comfortable enough, nothing to brag about. The bathroom was clean and fresh towels were delivered every morning, which I was impressed by because we've had poor luck with […] getting fresh towels at other places before. They were quite rough on our skin, but they did the trick. I would stay there again, as we had a good stay overall. The only thing I was not happy with was the smell of the carpets. The carpets in the hallway corridors and stairwells smelled atrocious. The carpet in our room smelled a little funny, but nothing like the stairwells. "Do Not Stay Here! Black Mold and food in room!!"
This was the worst hotel I have ever stayed at. Upon entering the room I noticed there was black mold by the front door, near fridge. Front desk proceeded to tell me it was coffee grinds. I have pictures. i have two children with allergies who I could not even allow in this room. There was a dirty straw on the floor, enough food under the bed to feed […] a pack of rats, one of the beds did not even have sheets on it!! I rented three rooms for a family reunion and only one of them were somewhat decent. The next day housekeeping did not even come to my room, I had to track them down to get towels and I was told I was not allowed more until I brought my dirty towels to them for them to count. WOW! I am honestly shocked there were no visible roaches here! This place is a real dump. i dont know why its rated a 3 star, it should bea .05. I will NEVER stay here again. This hotel was in a good area. It had a kitchen and we enjoyed the balcony with the ocean view. The kids loved the pool, and we did enjoy the proximity to the beach and other activities. "Good if your too young to get another hotel."
I am 20 and no other hotels would let me stay there because age req's are usually 21 or 25. This is the only place I could find that would allow me to stay there with my brother and friends, none of which are older than me. The hotel was dirty, service was horrible, the lady at the desk actually said "this ain't no ramada inn" when I asked for an extra […] pillow. Can you believe this hotel stills uses KEYS..I mean the old fashioned kind. They also feel the NEED to CHARGE YOU A KEY FEE THAT YOU DON'T GET BACK!!! The Hotel room was horrible! We didn't have hot water in the shower & had to run to Wal-Mart in the middle of the night after arriving to buy a screwdriver just to turn the hot water on! "Good 'Ol "Ocea"!"
Well, um, it was bad . . . and bad is probably an understatement; it was AWFUL. When we got there, we were so excited to be there that the appearance didn't matter to us. We were able to check into our room early which was nice and convenient. But, upon checking the room, we found stains on the linens that looked like blood. [Not only on one bed either, […] it was on both.] The pillows were completely flat and sleeping on a rolled-up newspaper would have been more comfortable than what we were given. The bathroom was completely disgusting and was not cleaned at all prior to our arrival. Not only was there mold and mildew on the toilet and floor, but it also appeared as if someone had defecated on the floor next to the toilet. On top of all of the disgusting nonsense we put up with, the kitchen was even terrible and every time the oven was turned on at all, the fire alarms went off. After complaining multiple times about these issues, I was finally fed up and requested they change our room. The new room was better then the first, but it was still well below satisfactory. The indoor pool was HOT [hotter than the hot tubs] and had too much chlorine in it, but that was the least of our worries. By the end of our five day stay, we became accustomed to what to expect and we didn't let it completely ruin our vacation. We went to check in around 1:00, was told check in was 11 am. But we were told room was not ready until 4pm. First night there we had drunk teenagers in the room next door climbing the balconies and screaming drunk. My kid's did not sleep for the whole time we were there. After 3 days of our 5 day trip they finally kicked them out after my husband threatened to sue. I will never stay here again!
