The interesting thing about Ti Kaye is that most will either love it or hate it. It really is not for everyone give the secluded location. For the short version, my personal take is that on the plus side, it is very secluded with some wonderful amenities, friendly staff and surprisingly excellent food (thanks to a recently hired head chef). Ti Kaye is a diamond in the rough. We spent 4 nights prior at Sandals La Toc and much preferred Ti Kaye over the Sandals resorts. Our driver on the way from the airport to the hotel picked up a "friend" who was probably a working girl. This happened too quickly for my wife and I to react. We informed management and they said they would take the appropriate action so that shouldn't happen to you. I'd definitely recommend Ti Kaye if you are looking for a secluded, romantic getaway. The wonderful staff here make you feel at home the minute you arrive. This resort requires you to be somewhat active if you want to go down to the beach & snorkel, it's quite a hike back up. If you really need to they would drop you down & pick you up. As someone we ran into in Castries commented 'Ohh, you're out in the sticks mon!' Very comfortable room, lovely people (general observation for all St Lucians). The 167 or so steps to the beach were a bit of a workout but really doable. We had additional challenging steps to our room, which simply meant we were well prepared when we left it. The beach (in my opinion) was the loveliest of beaches. Joel the cook is very patient with special wishes and wooed us with fish cooked to perfection. TiKaye is quite far from everywhere so long drives were unavoidable when looking for diversion. The main restaurant was not recommendable so we struggled to find alternative solutions as the beach bar closed at 4pm. There are few local vendors on the beach, but all very friendly and not too pushy. They supplied us with fresh coconuts and pretty baskets that they’d weave as we watched. Everything was wonderful. We arrived on Saturday and were immediately welcomed by the person at the front desk who gave us an orientation to the Village. Breakfast every morning overlooking the water was lovely as was the "private" beach- there's no such thing as a private beach in St. Lucia, but this is as close as you can get. There is a restaurant […] and dive shop right on the beach and you can have drinks brought to you as you take in the sun and then go strap on your snorkeling mask and swim to various nearby reefs. You wake up every morning to birds chirping and a breathtaking view of the ocean. The cottages have hammocks on the porch where you can lay and look down at the water as well. Really, the only negative of the hotel is the entrance. St. Lucians don't seem to understand the concept of a paved road, and it is about a mile drive from the hotel entrance to the property itself and it's not a fun one- one big dirt road that is bumpy, rocky and full of hairpin turns. Not a big deal unless you're driving, but honestly something that should have been fixed by now. Read more

The gym is adequate for the "do it yourself" workout - about what you see in average hotels. Lots of diving and snorkel spots you can swim to off the beach. One note, all of the beaches on St. Lucia are public, so you will have to share. However, we never felt like others were invading our space. Ti Kaye guests stayed on the south end of the beach, close to the bar. Non guests stayed at the other end. As with all vacation spots, there are some locals trying to sell shells or local crafts. The beauty of the location and overall experience outweighed any possible down side. If you want your own private beach, go somewhere else and pay much much more. This is one of the best hotels we have stayed at in 30 years of visits to the Caribbean. We stayed in one of the cottages for two and it was excellent - view, amenities, beach, food, environment, and access to excursions or other St Lucia activities. The staff from the drivers who picked us up to the drop off at the airport to the beach staff and restaurant […] staff as well as the administrative personnel including housekeeping were outstanding, friendly and helpful to say the least! The beach although generally smaller in size than we have experienced was never crowded and although shared with the 30-40 minute "day" "cruise and resort" excursion boats offered plenty of space to read, sit, snorkel, kayak or otherwise enjoy the day. There is a very different but yet interesting snorkeling experience on either the north or south side areas of the cove in which the beach is nestled. This is a unique experience for couples and adults who enjoy laid back unpretentious peace and quiet. FYI, the 160+- steps down the beach were nothing to worry about as one can take their time going down or up and of course there is the road access. If you do nothing else (ie excursions, etc.) we would recommend that when first arriving arrange with the hotel for your pickup (and later drop off). we also would recommend taking the north drive from the airport and the south drive to the airport or vice versa as they are very different and give you a great perspective of the diversity of the island. Overall, nice place. Don't be fooled by your booked price/person. They really get you on food costs. We spent roughly $950 in food/drink for 5.5 days (& we are not drinkers --- that includes maybe 4 glasses of wine over the trip). I notice now that there is a meal plan on the website, but no one discussed this w/ us at check in (though not sure it would […] have saved us much). Because Ti Kaye is isolated, you are stuck with the expense. We had a Le Cottage and generally enjoyed it. There are minor upkeep issues that could be addressed (e.g., paint on walls). The outdoor shower is lovely, but I could never make it through a full shower with hot water (eventually learned to turn off the water while shampooing and shaving). The porch is lovely with a hammock and rocking chairs. Staff, with one exception (reception), are very friendly. Reception seemed bothered every time we made an inquiry. Another big issue was service at the beach cafe. It took at least 90 mins to get a menu, place an order, and receive food. When I'm at the beach, I want to be out in the sun -- not stuck inside a crowded restaurant. Likely a staffing issue (both cooks and waitresses). It was extremely annoying. I wasn't bothered by the boats that would pull up during the day loaded with people (all beaches in St Lucia are public) as they tended to stay at the opposite end. We were warmly greeted at reception, offered a cocktail or NA beverage, and immediately informed of the amenities and introduced to the staff. We found the lounge area to be very open with an amazing view. We were then shown to our room which was spacious, clean, and with a beautiful view. […] the hammock and candles were a nice touch, and we were allowed to park our vehicle close to our cottage. the grounds also contain a very nice spa, an air conditioned bar w/ flat screen tv, a beach bar, a dive shop and a nearly private beach. i say nearly private as all beaches in St. Lucia are public, so there are some transients but for the most part the beach contained only Ti Kaye guests. the only drawback for us was the location was a little off the beaten path. great if you plan on spending time at the resort or taking advantage of the multitude of tours offered at the hotel. we rented a car so we drove when we wanted to leave, but due to the road conditions and driving in general, we found ourselves wishing that we were just a bit farther south. however, i would highly recommend ti kaye to anyone traveling in st. lucia. the value is by far the best we encountered on the island. with decent food and the best wine cellar to boot, it's a top economical and luxury choice at the same time. Who will like this hotel: honeymooners, nature lovers, physically fit couples, people wishing for a truly local/non-commercial experience. This hotel has the best view and snorkeling in all of St. Lucia. The front desk staff is stellar, as are the cleaning crew. The beds are extremely hard, and the walk to and from the beach was annoying. The food was just ok, and the waitresses were slow and forgetful/uninterested. The transportTion arrangements left us stranded two days in a row. The guys on the beach are a delight, and I recommend spending some cash with them on your first day. You will get lots of attention and advice for the rest of your trip. Some people will love it here, and some will hate it. It really just depends on what you are looking to get out of your trip. If you're looking for something slightly off the beaten path and like the option of package deals vs. a la carte, Ti Kaye is your resort. My wife and I honeymooned at Ti Kaye and loved it. We went with the a la carte option, with both food and excursions, and had a great time. The food was excellent: American favorites mixed in with Caribbean and Creole […] dishes. As far as activities/excursions, the snorkeling at Anse Cochon (166 steps from Ti Kaye's main building) was great, the Canopy Zip-lining amazing, and the Gros Piton hike rigorous, but worth it. On our last day we got massages that were a great way top off the trip. Generally, facilities were very clean, the staff incredibly nice and helpful (albeit a little slow at times), and the grounds well kept. We had a great time and think that there may be a landmark anniversary trip back in our future. Misc. Worth Noting: To get anywhere on St. Lucia you need to take windy, up and down roads. As we associated with the other guests, they also had similar comments about the friendliness of the staff. They were also very willing to work with us on special dining requests for special occassions. We were asked in a survey by the resort if we wanted to name a staff member who should be given special recognition, and while we did name one person, we could have listed ten or twelve more names. We were warned in reviews prior to booking our trip that if you wanted to stay at a resort that was convenient to other restaurants and night life activity, Ti Kaye was not the place to go. They were correct in their reviews. You could take a special excursion or take a taxi/water taxi if you desired to travel to other areas of the island. Renting a car is probably not advised due to the road condiions. At the resort we especaily enjoyed the wine tasting and the Manager's Reception. The only negative that we found at Ti Kaye was that we found the food to be only average and not great. We understood that they had recently hired a new Executive Chef, so that could be improved. Ti Kaye shut down for a few weeks starting the day we left, to complete renovations. These were already in progress while we were there, so something things like the TV room / lounge, etc were not available during our stay, which was slightly disappointing as we were unaware this would be the case when we made our reservations. I did not tell them until the second to last night of our stay because there was "enough" to eat on the dinner menu up to that point. Then one night there was basically nothing vegetarian on the dinner menu! If you are planning on shopping or visiting towns / cities, this is not the place to stay. Absolutely loved how secluded it was, but still with plenty of activities to do at the resort (snorkeling down at the beach, fish fry festival, wine tastings, massages at the spa, and they even have a gym!) The food was AMAZING!!! Delicious, and so worth the price! I'm not much of a drinker, but even I was drinking […] their famous "Rum Punch". The service was over and beyond spectacular - only had one encounter where our food was late for dinner one night, but the service was incredible it didn't even matter anymore! It was a perfect honeymoon place. If you are looking for nightlife and the ability to leave the resort as you please to find a new place to eat, shop or have a drink at...this is not your place. However if you are on a honeymoon there is no better place than Ti Kaye. The staff was amazing, food was good, beach was nice and it has great sunset views. […] My wife and I had an oceanfront cottage with pool and it was amazing. Spend the morning down on the beach and then in the late afternoon we could retreat back to our cottage and lay in the sun still and have our pool as well. Getting to Ti Kaye is a journey...1 hour and 30 minute taxi ride BUT all the nice hotels have the same situation so no matter where you stay be prepared to have a long and curvy ride. We did a private boat tour with Day Tripper St Lucia Boat Tours and it was fantastic...highly recomended to get out and see part of the island via water. All in all, Ti Kaye was a fantastic place to unplug and get away from it all. Perfect Honeymoon destination for those looking to not be in the hussle and bussle for a few days! Read more

My boyfriend and I stayed at TiKaye for four days. We had unfortunate luck while we were there and it rained non-stop the first two days and I was sick and literally bed-bound the last 2 days but I have to say there is no better place to be stuck in a room for 48 hours. The hotel is lovely, the rooms...more like villas, are breath-taking. It is literally […] as if you have your own apt. The hammock on the porch was my fave and heads up there is no tv in the room. The staff is amongst the friendliest i've met yet and they do a great job at remembering your name and making you feel at home. The nightlife is non-existent and hotel bar closes at 11pm so make sure to do as many excursions as you can in the AM. There is only ONE place to eat dinner each night, so if you dont like the prices you either have to suck it up or go to sleep hungry. I would have appreciated a snack shop or something along those lines. I read these reviews before booking my stay here and they were not kidding about all the steps to the beach, my calves were KILLING me! The kayaking is free and a lot of fun...even in the rain. You can save yourself a few dollars if you bring your own snorkel gear. The only excursion we did was the zip line but I highly recommend it, its exhilarating. If you're a light sleeper you might want to bring some ear plugs, the chirping birds/crickets dont stop all night. Its a wonderful place, I cant wait to stay here again one day. Read more
