Like most Amsterdam hotels, it's an extremely mixed bag, there's always going to be a noticeable tradeoff for cost vs. comfort vs. location. In this case, it's a tradeoff for comfort, but it's a reasonable one and I'd might stay there again if it's not expensive. The single room was small (I could touch both side walls with arms outstretched) my room […] had a connecting door to another room and that door let a decent amount of noise through the gap at bottom giving the impression of paper-thin walls, which was solved by wedging a towel in there. The bathroom was a bit poorly designed, lacking reasonable shelves and hooks. But the place is about as close to Centraal station as it gets and the street itself is pleasant, the staff are helpful and friendly, the interior is fairly modern and everything was clean and functioned properly. Have stayed here several times, always a good experience. Rooms are typically small but modern, clean and comfortable. Can't be beat, only issue is the breakfast is a little pricey in restaurant downstairs.

The location is good, close to central station and walking distance to tourist buses. Room is very small even for Europe. WiFi is good. Breakfast not included. Hotel sign is not clear, I got confused with next door hotel.

From the outside it looks like a quaint hotel, which is good, but on the inside it is clean, bright, and modern, which is also good. The desk personnel were great and the location is superb... barely a walk from the train station. Easy walking distance to anything. The hotel was clean and easy to find and the staff was very friendly and helpful. They also allowed us to leave our bags while we walked around waiting for our train The room was small but clean and the bathroom was tidy as well. Although the location is nice considering it is right by the train station and other various shoppings and canals/restaurants […] trying to sleep at night was a bit hard... there is a price for staying close to all the action. I was very pleased with the cleanliness and courtesy of the empluees> The food at the resaurant was very good and plenty.

Clean and quiet in an historic building. The staff was incredibly accommodating when we encountered a problem with the drain in our bathroom by offering us a different room only a couple doors down from our original room. First, the bad, the walls on the 5th floor are a bit thin...it was easy to listen to a loud phone conversation next door. Other than that, I have nothing but good to say about this hotel. Yes, the single room is small, but it's tasteful, comfortable and very clean. Yes, the bathroom is a "wet bath" where shower and toliet share the same floor, but it […] works. The decor is nice, the staff is friendly and helpful and all of Amsterdam is in walking distance or, if not, all the public transportation you could want is just out the front door. We stayed for nine nights and enjoyed our stay very much! The staff was very accomodating and friendly. If we had any questions they were very helpful and curtious. Bellevue Hotel is a five minute walk from the Central Train Station and is in the heart of the Dam activity. The hotel style emphasizes using minimalism while providing the essentials. First impression of this hotel was the very nice reception staff and fantastic location. After there, it all went horribly downhill. The room was disgustingly dirty! Including handprints on the headboard! The free internet, which was one of the main reasons I selected this hotel, was only accessible if you sat on one corner of the bed. Have stayed here several times now, always clean and modern, two minute walk to the train station. No breakfast inlcuded but lots of nearby places. Seems to be fully booked all the time. Staff at front desk is pretty busy but friendly and speak excellent English.

Small rooms are normal. Not particularly clean. Bathrooms lacked normal shower/bath arangements (one room had a shower drain in the floor, another room had a bathtub with a shower but no stall or curtain). Air conditioning for the whole hotel was out of service. Staff was unhelpful. Convenient but not very pleasant.

Dirty rooms. Broken airconditioning and unhelpful staff. Showers and/or baths are typically broken. Rooms are very very small but this is normal in Europe.

Small really does convey how tiny the room was. In fairness because my partner had not been to Amsterdam before, they gave us one of the better view rooms, being a gable room it was a bit difficult for two people to move around in. The main street of Amsterdam, Dam Str., is one block over. Want to take a canal tour? Boats are a three minute walk. Great restaurants all around.. Staff was professional and helpful. Room is typical European in size, small. If you want TV, not very many channels. Towels far from luxurious. Hotel staff vey helpful. Not bad for the money overall.

An excellent value close to the Centraal Train Station and the transportation hub of Amsterdam. Modern, efficient rooms that are clean and well maintained. I have stayed here several times in a single room, this time I got a double for the price of a single. A little more space and a bathtub to boot. Often sold out for good reason.

Nice hotel it was, with its great location in the center of Amsterdam and so close to the central station.

Very close to the cruise dock and the train station. Easy access to the trams. Rooms were comfortable, though not luxurious. Staff was VERY helpful with how to get around, tram information, and restaurant recommendations. They also called a taxi for us for 4:00 am for the airport. Overall a very positive experience.

We stayed at the Bellevue for two nights and were very pleased. The front desk staff were friendly and helpful, recommending restaurants, informing us about tram routes, etc. We were offered the choice of a smaller room at the front with a view overlooking the street or a larger room near the rear overlooking an air shaft. We took the rear room and […] it was extremely quiet. European hotel rooms are generally much smaller than what Americans are used to, so we appreciated the slight larger space. The location is excellent--right across the street from the train station where all of the trams originate, so public transportation is convenient for anywhere in the city. By tram you can get to the museums or other tourist sites in minutes. There are many restaurants within about two blocks, ranging from a McDonalds for the bargain seekers to some elegant restaurants. Dorius, right across the street is an excellent restaurant. Major department stores are also close. The room rate was better than most other downtown hotels we checked, and so we felt that we got a real bargain. This is not an elegant hotel, but it is clean and well kept, and had everything we needed. We definitely would return again. Read more

The Bellevue is an excellent value near the Centraal Station in Amsterdam. The hotel is a simple way from the train station and convenient to all public transit. The neighborhood is not the best but what can you expect close to a large train station -- however, I always felt safe. I only stayed 1 night, but for this the hotel was perfect. V close to the main train station, and all the attractions of Amsterdam. Bars, coffee shops and Restaurants are all adjacent, as is the tram and bus station.. Room small, but sufficient for a short stay.

I recently stayed at this hotel for five nights and was very pleased with my stay. The rooms are small, but comparable to other European hotels. Considering that our room had air conditioning, the price is very reasonable. My only complaint was that the bed was actually two twin beds pushed together, but that was a minor downside. Rooms are TINY, but clean. An ideal place if you want to be out and about and only return back to the hotel to sleep. The hotel is right across the plaza from Centraal station.

The hotel is super close which was great for me since I was not allowed to send my luggage direct to my final destination. I'm not going to say it's the best hotel in Amsterdam. An excellent hotel, very conveniently located near the Amsterdam central station and with easy access to the main sights in the centre of the city. The room may have been small but it was very well designed and resourced with very good en-suite facilities as well as a digital television with BBC stations! The reception staff were exceedingly helpful and the cheerful ambience in the breakfast room contributed to one's sense of well-being. The 3 C's. Perfect for a weekend stay.

the hotel is fine. great location, decent price and the staff are nice. the only things i would say are, the bed was really uncomfortable, i could feel the springs, and the bathroom was very awkward. i could hear my neighbours talking and having sex and the room was cold. it may have just been my room.

Location excellent. But sadly let down by the not so clean room and poor shower area design, water runs everywhere meaning you can't return to bathroom until floor dried. Also white walls in bedroom area showing lots of dirt marks, carpet filthy. Staff very friendly.
