This room was OK considering that it was a budget price in a resort town. However, we had friends who stayed nearby for just a few dollars more than we paid and they had beautiful accommodations. Sorry we chose this location. Rooms were very outdated and bedding was old.

The hotel is old, and probably needed a refresh 20 years ago. Today it is just old, its rough around the edges. Obviously used by a lot of adventure types, there is space in every room to hang your skis and stack your gear. Motel office is combined with Anvil Motel office and is located at the NW corner of Gill and cache streets. Breakfast consists of coffee, muffins and yogurts and is served at a single table in the lobby. Shower compartment in the room is quite small.

El Rancho Motel is part of another Motel so, the check-in desk of the El Rancho Motel does not exist. When I arrived at the Motel in the night the Sign of the El Rancho motel was off and I was afraid that the motel does not exist. Then I read the message left on the window indicating the direction to get to the other Motel (entrance) which was a bit […] further then just around the corner. There is no real room for breakfast so you end up having your breakfast standing in the lobby of the other Motel. In any case it was not expensive so you can't expect more. Cheapest motel we found in Jackson. It was clean, the heater worked, they provided a fridge, a microwave, a tv, free wifi, a few options for breakfast and, above all, two queen beds. We slept well there. For a motel, true, it's not cheap but what is cheap in and nearby Yellowstone? The place is not easy to find and the registration is at the Anvil Motel. […] They also own the Italian restaurant next door. It was so hot in the room & there is no air conditioning. The celing fan we thought was going to take off on its own & the bathroom fan sounded like it had a badger in it. It looks like the carpet has not been changed since the building was built...... ICK it is so dirty & The front desk is located in a totally different building & don't bother calling […] them cause they do not answer;( Would NOT stay here ever again. This place should have cost us no more then $30 bucks to stay there. We traveled 5000 miles in 23 days, staying at different hotels every night & this was the WORST room by far out of the 15 diff hotels we stayed in along the way. Read more

It's nothing fancy, but the room with the 2 queen beds had lots of space and there was a nice patio with chairs and a table outside the room. The beds were fairly comfortable, the bathroom was clean. It's not the Ritz but it's in the middle of town and is reasonably priced. Would definitely go back.

We were there in the summer and it was warm. There was no AC, which is understandable in this climate but we could not open our window because there were people smoking right outside until late in the evening. The room decor was dated and parking was a little tight for larger vehicles. Location is good right in the middle of Jackson.

The end of July 2012 was 94 degree in Jackson, no air conditioning. Sink would not drain and maintenance apparently could not correct. No air conditioning should be apparent at booking. Air conditioning is assumed just as running water and electricity are expected.

Wow, motel is in great location, walking distance of it all. Apparently that give the management the right to not maintain the place and still ask for huge prices. Where is public health, yuck. Bring your own pillow!

The cleaners they used to clean the room stank. Windows wouldn't open. Bed was very broken down and shower had hair in it! Overall you get what you pay for! The Staff was very nice and really worked to make sure things were right. I'd say if you need to stay someplace on a budget, this place would be a good choice!

This hotel is exactly as it advertises itself - a budget option very near all the things one goes to Jackson to do. I stayed here with my boyfriend for a night before and after a 3-day backpacking trip through the Grand Tetons. Rooms were very basic but clean. All the main in-town attractions are within easy walking distance and the national parks entrance […] is a very short drive. My biggest complaints would be that on-site parking is not guaranteed to be available and can run out when they're full (we had to use street parking our last night, which required moving our car before 9am) and that because of it's low cost for the area the hotel seems to attract a younger, louder clientele looking to drink a lot and be rowdy - not always a welcome thing when you're looking to get up early for a hike the next day! Very nice, really rustic. I enjoyed the stay at this motel. The only problem is it does not have air condition. The day we stayed there it was in the 90's and did not cool off until late afternoon. I assume this is a winter hotel.

Was very clean and is good for an overnighter. I'd booked for the wrong night and they were friendly and happy to help me. Only real problem was the wifi which was very unstable.

This motel was reasonably priced, comfortable and conveniently located in the center of town, also a good distance away from Grand Teton National Park. The room I stayed in did not have a desk and only had two-pronged sockets, but that wasn't the end of the world. Overall it was priced right and pretty comfortable.

We are a retired 'budget' couple. We read the other reviews and cannot see what people were complaining about. The room and bed were very comfortable. Breakfast was basic but OK. The only thing was being 'winter' it wasn't available till 8am - a bit late for an early start. You need to ask about the laundry. So we were more than happy.

We looked for a cheap hotel, and found this one. We weren't expecting a lot of frills for this price - jut wanted a place to sleep & take a shower, basically. The room was clean, but smelled like cheap air freshener (we slept with the windows open to get rid of the smell). The shower was fine, albeit very tiny. The bed, however, was not only stiff as […] a board but lumpy as well. So hard & lumpy that neither my husband or I got much sleep, and woke up with stiff necks, sore shoulders & lower back aches.
