Most famous is the General Post Office, the Republicans’ headquarters during the 1916 Easter Rising. We stayed here in November, during the cold and rainy weather of Dublin. The heat did not work in our room, yet it was roasting out in the hallway. By the 3rd night, the heat started to work a little...but it was still very cold in the room. That made it really hard to get up and move around in the mornings.

The Mrs. and I ended our whirlwind vacation in Dublin, thanks to the super cheap flights available. We were lucky to find this place- it fit well into our shoestring budget, was perfectly adequate, had a helpful staff, and a phenomenal location, if you are traveling to/from the airport by public transportation, and want to see Dublin. I mean, the bus drops and picky up literally right there. Highly recommended for budget travelers seeking decent and insanely convenient accommodations.

Lynam's Hotel is centrally located on O'Connell Street, the main street running through the center of the city. Only a couple of minutes walk from the River Liffey, Trinity College, Temple Bar, Parliament, and other great sites. The hotel itself was perfectly serviceable, though the rooms were small and carpets and bedspreads a bit threadbare. The hotel staff was very helpful and friendly.

Hotel was in an exellant location. There was only one small towel and one bath towel provided. We were woke up the first morning at 5am by loud music. We rang down to reception to find out what was going on, they said it was the shop next door and nothing they could do about it. They did offer us to move to another room at 5am. The music played all day. The second morning I woke up to find myself covered in spots about forty of them very itchy and very large. Since coming home and doing some research these are bed bug bites and have over fifty of them now over my face, chest, arms, legs and my husband has some too but not as bad. Dublin is a great city but all I can think about two days later is how itchy I am and the fact I have twenty bites all over my face.
