"Fantastic week away at the babymio"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on Mar 3, 2012
I hesitate to write this review only because I don't want the babymio to become so popular that we aren't able to book a room next year! We went with our 5 year old and 18 month old and the hotel was perfect for our needs. The rooms are nicely furnished, not luxury, but everything you need and are keep nice and clean by the pleasant staff. As the name suggests, the hotel caters to families with small children. The dining room has food for babies under two, has sippy cups, children's plates and silverware and usually there's something just for kids during the evening meal. That said, the food is excellent. Roast meats, fish, pasta, vegetables cooked just right, salads, pate, cheese plate, dessert, and I could go on. Breakfast offers everything American/British and European you could want. Lunch is salad and something simple and delicious, like soup or pasta. The hotel itself has a childrens' play room, an evening movie or activity and child care at certain times, all included in the price of the room. We were able to leave the 18 month old in daycare and go skiing. The hotel also has sleds, strollers, a ski storage room with boot warmers and a nice heated pool for the end of the day. Beer, wine and drinks are served so Mom and Dad can have apres ski with the little ones right in sight and no need to drive home. babymio is located at Kirchdorf Ski area. There's a ski school there and a small ski area. You can take the ski bus or drive to several other ski mountains in the area, including Kitzbuehl. We find the whole area to be a good value for the money. We plan to return in 2013! My only caveat is that it may be a bit difficult if you speak NO German. Our German is not great, but we managed just fine. Some of the staff do not speak any English, including the young women in the daycare. The owners, the Seiwalds, are incredible nice and accommodating, so I am sure they would assist if required.
"Great hotel as base for Tirol sports"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on Mar 1, 2012
I stayed at the hotel because it was very reasonably priced and convenient to skiing in Kitzbuhel and St. Johann in Tirol. I was very pleasantly surprised by what I found. Food was very good and included in the low price. Breakfast was a nice example of a European buffet with a large selection of good quality meat, cheese, bread, cereals, etc. Dinner was selected from 3 choices (two meat, one vegetarian) and included soup, bread, dessert. Portion and quality were as good as most restaurants. A bonus was afternoon cake and coffee. This included cappuccino and similar choices along with a large selection of cakes and pies. The cake I had was outstanding. It seemed like most people staying there were families or older couples. Everyone was quite friendly. The place itself is very attractive but a bit off the beaten track so perhaps not as interesting if you want lots of clubs nearby. Definitely a car is required.
"Super place to stay for winter sports"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on Feb 16, 2012
The staff were very nice and helpful. The room was very comfortable and clean. The hotel is over 500 years old, and it has great historical features and decorations. I would stay there again.
"Austria Trend Alpine - family orientated, clean"Reviewed by Tatiana of "New York, NY" on Jan 3, 2012
We just spent Christmas and 2012 New Year in this resort. Very friendly, clean, convenient to the slopes and ski school! Excellent for holidays. Very nice breakfast buffet and 5 courses dinner was included. We only did not expect to pay every dinner for each cup of tea, coffee or caned juice 4.20 EUR. We thought that incl. to our prepaid dinner. Find out this with your trip provider. Overall will come back.
"Farberhaus, couldn't ask for more"Reviewed by Christopher G of "Chicago, IL" on Oct 1, 2011
The room/house was amazing. I slept well, had an amazing view, quiet town with nice cars driving through, and the owners were some of the friendliest people you can meet who helped me with my trip.
