"Good hotel - but rent a car"
This is a good resort hotel, about what you'd expect from Radisson. The beach and pool are great, and there's nothing like letting the sound of the surf lull you to sleep at night. We have only two cons:(1) The location - it's 10-15 km outside of Papeete, without much of anythng to do in the immediate area. If you're staying here more than a day or […] so, you'll probably get bored and want to go into town or explore. But the hotel shuttle runs on a rigid schedule twice a day; the last shuttle returns to the hotel before dinner time. I strongly recommend renting a car. (Hertz has a plan with no free km included, that's a good deal if you're just going back and forth to town. The alternative is a US$30 taxi ride each way to/from town.) (2) If you don't have a car you pretty much have to eat at the restaurant, which is terribly overpriced - about US$30 for the very mediocre breakfast buffet. But if you have a car these problems go away and it becomes a very enjoyable place to stay. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
We had a great time and would recommend this hotel to our friends. The staff was very helpful, the room lovely with a gorgeous view, the grounds well-kept, the pool incredible. We will go back!Genuine Expedia guest review
"Beautiful black sand beach"
The hotel itself could use a little sprucing up here and there, but our time here was fantastic.. Their beach has black sand which feels like the softest feathers under your feet. And, you can enjoy the fantastic water view while dining poolside under some trees..Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Staff at hotel were friendly and the overal grounds were good. Meals were average price and good value for money. Studio room was clean and plenty of space. The gym was exceptionalGenuine Expedia guest review

"I would stay there again"
The hotel is very good. Checkin takes too long as it seems the checkin process takes too long or there are not enough staff. The facilities are excellent as are the rooms (we stayed in a jacuzzi room) except on one stay the shutters near the jucuzzi did not work. Overall a worthwhile stay. We booked the free shuttle into town but they did not write […] our names down and said it was too bad for us. However, after a short discussion with reception they agreed to pay for our taxi into town. Overall a pleasant place to stay. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Great place to relax"
The hotel occupies one of the best positions on Tahiti with fantastic views across Lafyette Beach from your room, the restaurant, the gardens and the pool area. Though I would say that the dark wood in the rooms is a little dull and some updating is required. There is a free twice daily shuttle to Papeete centre during the week and some excellent entertainment […] during the evenings. Unfortunately I was unlucky enough to sustain an injury during my stay but the hotel management and staff could not have done more to make my stay as easy and comfortable as possible. With wheelchair provided and upgrade to invalid access suite at no cost, the entire staff without exception took extreme interest in my well-being, even ensuring my room was kept open for an extended stay despite being fully booked for weddings. We visited 3 other hotels during our stay to visit family and friends and do not regret our 1st choice of the Radisson Plaza, I would certainly use this hotel again when I get the opportunity to go back to Tahiti. "Nice hotel that is maybe getting a tad tired?"
The hotel was OK, but we expected a high quality at a Radisson. To me, it wasn't quite as good as others we'd stayed at. 'Tired' was the best description I could give. It is also further out of Papeete than we expected, meaning a car was very useful. The hotel shuttle bus doesn't really run often enough.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"A huge cockroach Grossed me out"
We stay there for two days. Even though they knew we were four people, there were not enough towels and there was only one shampoo which was not even from the hotel( it was from other hotel). Buffet with a dance show was pricy just like any other hotel but service was slow and the food was mediocre . But most of all, I was terrified to see a huge cockroach […] by the bed when I woke up and when I complained about it upon checkout, the man at the counter kind of laughed at me and said "what did your husband say?" instead of apologizing or feel bad for my worst experience at the hotel. I hate bugs. I'm too screwed to go back to the hotel... Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

Dining is a major component of our vacations. We look for quality and consistency. Both were non existent at Radisson. Food was terrible and service was slightly better. In my opinion there was no direction from management as to how to serve people. Re cooking, chef (s) needs help. Hotel has 4 star potential and 2 star performance. Would Not return […] or recommend. "Radisson Plaza Resort Tahiti"
We stayed there for one night during our trip to Moorea. Looks like a nice hotel, but service was poor (we had to carry our luggage by ourselves upon arrival and departure, the room/building 7 had a kitchen, but was not finished, checkout and to get a taxi took about one hour, so we missed the planned ferry to Moorea) and also the hotel has already […] past it´s glorious days (buildings look old, roomfurniture wasn´t in a good shape) . Keep in mind that this hotel is way out of the city Papeete and there is nothing around to do. So it might be worth considering another place to stay downtown Moorea and even to pay more, because you will save it on Taxi rides (app. 2.200,- XPF one way for the Taxi/2 persons). We stayed already in several other Radisson Hotels all over the world and had always a good experience, but this one is definetly a no go. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Short stay but very pleasant"
Welcome and reception very good. Aircon cool as. Huge room , suite actually. Would have liked some snacks and drinks in room , only basics available. Food plentiful , not too expensive , portions large so only one course sufficient . Service a little sparodic but staff very pleasant. Lovely swimming pool and dining setting.Genuine Expedia guest review

The air conditioner did not work well due to it's age. The room was quite dated, but the staff were pleasant.Genuine Expedia guest review
We enjoyed our stay very much. Hotel was well maintained and front desk staff were terrific. Restaurant was a bit short-staffed and pricey. Wonderful beachfront location and view, but nowhere nearby worth walking to. "The Radisson, Papeete"
Stayed here as a treat for the first two days of our Tahiti holiday. It is a resort with all of the services you would expect. I used trip advisor to research the hotel prior to booking so was very happy with the room and its location - it was quiet, on the top level with nice views of the ocean and away from the reception area. The pool area was great […] and as we were travelling with our 18 month old son the graduated pool was great for him to splash around in the shallows. Food was ok - we didn't dine in the restaurant due to having our son in bed at that time - got a little sick of the limited bar menu - quite a bit of deep fried stuff and just not a lot of choice. Room service was ok but of the three times we used it - they got our orders wrong in some way each time. We found the menu didn't really describe the food accurately - eg. we ordered a french cheese platter with dried fruit - we got the cheese but it was all deep fried!!! No mention of this fairly important fact on the menu. For breakfast one day I ordered the soft boiled eggs and toast - I wasn't expecting to also receive bacon, fried pork and fried mushrooms with this meal. If you are thinking of requesting a cot for a child you would be better off to take your own portacot - the cot we were given was archaeic - must have been from the 1940's and was very small - squeaked and groaned everytime our son moved. The second night we put him on a single mattress on the floor which was much better but not ideal at all. Otherwise, the resort itself was nice but it is costly when you look at food, drink prices etc - but I guess this is something you need to accept when travelling to this country . "Radisson Plaza Resort Tahiti - post-cruise stay"
Front desk staff very helpful and accommodating. Housekeeping staff could have done a better job in cleaning rooms. We had an issue with small ants on the bar counter that was possibly difficult to control although the counter was sprayed once when front desk was notified but ants did reappear again shortly afterwards. Definitely could not leave anything […] that you might want to ingest including the ice in the bucket if left on the counter. Great view of the beach and ocean from the balcony and living room! "Very average - shabby rooms and poor restaurant service"
Stayed here for 3 nights in order to explore Tahiti island a bit more. The location is ok - black sand beach quite nice. We found the room to be very shabby (broken plugs, paint peeling off the walls) and not cleaned properly (hairs and grime in the shower, cobwebs and dirt in the corner of each room). The shower annoyingly didn't drain properly either. […] The additional problem was that the restaurant staff were not all to pleasant (efficient, but seemed irritated to be serving us). Having said that, the check in staff were very helpful and the food in the restaurant was tasty. If you do stay on Tahiti stay at the Intercontinental (1st) or the Sofitel (2nd) before staying at this place. It is of 3* standard whereas the other two hotels are lovely and the staff are very pleasant. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Needs to provide more service"
I could go on and on about what happened here, but this hotel didn't have a valet service to help with our bags. "Radisson Tahiti: a 4-star that would deserve 3"
Radisson Tahiti could have been a nice place to stay at. The room itself was nice, comfortable and the view was good. The bed is very comfortable. The terrace is a very nice place to enjoy the view or a sunset. However, all the equipment we had in the room was not always working... We had to get our luggage by ourselves as no porter came after we called […] 3 times for it. Most reception staff were welcoming and friendly, but not very thoughtful. They just do they are asked to, nothing more and you really feel it. Tahitian and Japanese concierge were very nice. F&B department were awful. Food was not good at all, staff was not welcoming, room service was a disaster. Order a cheese plate and get it without bread, or ask for pasta and eat them without a fork!! It was also even hard to reach someone on the phone to order. At the bar, we had to wait very very long to get the menu, then for someone to take our order, then to get our drinks... Well the place itself is not that bad, the swimming pool is beautiful at night with the lights... You can hear the sound of the waves.... Very relaxing! In the business center, we could print anything for 3 days because nobody brought paper in the printer. When we met staff from the offices, they hardly said 'hello' to us. The free shuttle to town is a good idea, because it's very hard to move from one place to another in Tahiti without it. Overall was neither good or bad. There were too many mistakes that we wouldn't expect in a 4 star. The hotel could be much better. The most important thing to improve would be the F&B department. "Great but need a car"
Hotel was great, room was great, location was far away even though they had 2 shuttles each day into Papeete at 8am and 2 pm returning 12 and 5pm. Taxi's are not cheap in Tahiti so there are few options unless you want to use the local busses. This only becomes as issue if you want to go out for the day like going to Moorea as you will need to add on […] taxi fares to get to and from the ferry. Ordered a bar snack around dinner as was not too hungry and was surprised, first one was good size the next was supposed to be mini pizzas and 5 small crackers arrived with some olive paste on them. A little tough for $10. Overall the hotel is great, pool is nice but you have to be careful not to go in when they have the French aqua aerobics classes as they take over the pool. Would be nice if they spoke English too. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
Great hotel if you are staying on Tahiti. The hotel is nice and removed from downtown Papeete, yet easy enough to access everything. The pool is nice. The hotel is right on the ocean, which has a swift current. I enjoyed falling asleep to waves crashing, but swam elsewhere. I would not use the concierge, Vivienne for anything. She overcharged us for […] our Hiro tour excursion. We only found this out when we were at the ferry to Moorea and looked at the tourist pamphlet with specials. We called the front desk supervisor and she explained that the concierge charges a fee!!!! Well, when we explained we thought over thirty percent was a bit high for a fee, she said she's call us back. When she did she said the tour charged them that much. That was very unbelievable. She then said we could have a late check out for our last night until 10pm at no charge. The other manager, Natalie, was very nice and took the time to show us around and made sure our stay was pleasant. All in all, I would stay here again. We were there for one week. Next time I would spend a few days here and then head to Moorea. The ferry is easy, cheap and takes luggage. That island was so mellow. The beaches and vibe were much better. Tahiti is cool to start for a few days, but Moorea was more the beach vacation. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"A very enjoyable experience"
Loved the location and surroundings, however the black sand and wild surf did nothing for our appetite to spend time swimming at the beach (contra a lovely large pool overlooking the sea). Great to watch views from the balcony including amazing sun sets across Moorea Island. Staff were excellent and made every effort to pacify us. We arrived late Saturday […] with Sunday a non event given most places were closed on that day. probably would have been better arriving on the Monday. Food very expensive within the Hotel. Car hire is the go so that it broadens your ability to seek out cheaper eating places in Papeete and ease of getting around generally . Hotel does have a shuttle but limited as to numbers and times to and from Papeete. Staff could have been more attentive to providing detail of tours - as it was we had to ask the questions. In summary a very good Hotel with room for further improvement. Moorea Island is an absolute must during your stay - some of the best scenery we have ever encountered. Breathtaking. We really enjoyed our stay. The black sand was surprisingly soft. The shuttles to Papeete were great and everyone was friendly and helpful. Just a tip: they do have an a la carte menu for breakfast so you don't have to pay for the expensive buffet. You could get pancakes, chocolate crossaints or a full bacon egg and sausage breakfast for a good price. […] Coffee was cheap, but cream for it wasn't and juice was very expensive, but we kept some juice in our fridge that we bought in town and that was much cheaper. Very nice beachfront hotel, but restaurant very pricey !! $9.00 CAD/US for a pot of coffee Just a bit much for the average traveller. Also, no airport shuttle. Taxi from airport to hotel $55.00 US. Quite a ways out of town (Papetee) so no alternative dining options.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Good hotel, but not Paradise"
The hotel is OK for a short stay in Papeete, or to visit the island of Tahiti, but is not (the hotel and the whole island) a tropical paradise for long stays. For this, go to Moorea (30 min by ferry), Bora-Bora or other islands. The rooms are good, with nice views of the see, or of Moorea if you are lucky, people on the front desk are very friendly […] and competent (no so competent in the excursion desk), there is a bussiness center with free internet and fax service (again friendy and competent staff), and direct access to a beach with coral sand (advisable to wear reef shoes) and rather strong waves and currents (one can swim but must be careful). "Radisson Hotel - Papeete"
We thought the hotel was a great little getaway spot without leaving the main island for a short stay. It was peaceful and quiet in January and we found it very relaxing for three days. "Recommended - Radisson Plaza Resort Tahiti"
The Radisson Plaza Resort Tahiti was an excellent hotel and is recommended. The hotel looks a bit odd from the back, but once inside it is spacious, well looked after, has great views and lovely staff. The check in/out with a lovely lady called Queenie was excellent and she made us very welcome. The room was excellent and it was nice to be upgraded […] to a jacuzzi room. Drink prices were ok for a hotel of this calibre, but the food was well over priced. Around £27 for a buffet breakfast, £55 for a buffet dinner per person and £19 for a burger and chips was simply extortinoate.
