Hotel is ok
"Excellent Location"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 2, 2012
The hotel is well-located. Though it is an old building, and it could use some renovation.
"Great small hotel"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 2, 2012
Great small hotel, well...let me take that back: the room is actually a small one room apartment, so is quite big, compared to a regular hotel room. The area is perfect with great restaurants and places to go at a walking distance, very safe too. I wanted a happening place with city noise, it was perfect for me, but if you need a silent place that does not wake the kids up at night don’t go there (I mean the neighborhood or Mexico city for that matters, not the hotel)

"Comfort and location"
It was more than expected. People is friendly, the hotel has a contemporary style, which I thought was going to feel cold, but it was the other way around. It made me feel in a beautiful, comfortable home. The hammock is great too...they think on every little aspect. I ordered food and one dish was ok the other one great. Definitely will stay there […] again if needed to go nearby. Unfortunately within Mexico, you have to stay close to where you're going otherwise expect 1-2hrs traffic... Read more
"Great stay."
As always a great stay at the W. Top notch hotel. Visiting for business but was able to do some sightseeing. Great location, sorrounded by nice restauraunts.
"Great experiance"
The hotel staff was wonderfully friendly, spoke English well :-), and were very willing to help. The hotel and rooms were clean and well maintained. The neighbor hood is nice, convenient to access and safe. I was on the 15th floor and I had a beautiful view of the city. There was even a hammock in my room :-) Pretty cool. The W is a little different […] from the traditional hotel. It's more "sheik", modern. Lots of young people there. Lighting is very low and this was a bit annoying to me but, the more modern, young folk like that stuff. Anyway, for the money, well, well worth it and I'd definitely stay again. Read more
"Perfect Location"
The W is a bit dated and could use a renovation. That might actually be in the works. But there are two good reasons to stay there anyway. First, the location is perfect - the Polanco neighborhood is top-notch and safe. And second, the service is superior.
"W Hotel, Mexico City"
Great location. A walk to Chapultapec Park and the major museums, to Polanco and the major restaurants. A short cab ride or long walk to the business district on Paseo Reforma. Service was not always perfect first time but the response to shortfall was overwhelming: a complaint about an outdated room service wine-list, combined with the staff's patchy […] knowledge of the new one, resulted in two complimentary bottles delivered in an ice bucket! Good for families too: we stayed with our two small children and the staff were lovely with them. Happy to split dishes onto two small plates, delivered teddy bears, crayons etc... Read more
"Wow is all I can say"
I was in Mexico city for a wedding and this hotel is probably one of the best I've ever stayed at. The rooms are amazing and the bathrooms have hammocks in them which is very relaxing. They don't have a pool but they have a relaxing pool which is like a big jacuzzi with beds in them and it only fits 3 people. The bar in the lobby is very nice and staff […] throughout hotel are extremely friendly and helpful. They speak English very well. I highly recommend this hotel. Read more

"W Hotel Mexico City"
Stayed here in two rooms. The fantastic suite is amazing and worth every penny. Service is far superior to that of the Four Seasons in Mexico City. When we arrived we received a complimentary cheese plate with cold beers. Staff was extremely helpful. Front desk spoke great english, was friendly and had us ready to go quickly. Responded to all of our […] inquiries with professionalism and respect. In-room service is extremely affordable, delicious and professionally presented..even with the added gratuity. View is amazing. Hammock in the bathroom. The shower is simply amazing. You can shower with a view of the city.. or if your no exhibitionist you can pull the blind back for some added privacy. The Staff will open your balcony if you request it to be opened so you can step outside on the ledge and enjoy the view. It's really nice. The hotel taxi's are a bit more expensive than the radio taxis. Ask the front desk to call you a radio taxi or walk and find a maroon and gold taxi (with their photo, blood type, license on the side window).. and you'll save quite a bit of dinero. The area is wonderful with nature, monuments, museums, restaurants and nightlife nearby. Sports bars that show NFL games and a wonderful, inexpensive breakfast place called El Bajio nearby. (El Bajio has a wonderful selection of juices on their menu and their food is terrific.) This part of town is more lively and active than the other parts of town when it comes to nightlife and entertainment. There is even a hard rock close by. BEWARE OF MANKORA RESTAURANT: Substandard replica peruvian place nearby, stay away from it at all costs. Police in Mexico City always have their lights on to shock and awe the people. If you hear a siren *then something is wrong. Police in riot gear, Police with shotguns are a common sight. Don't let it bother you, they are just doing what they paid to get paid to do. "Great hotel, superb service"
Besides being a beautiful hotel, they go out of their way on service. One particular example: I am terribly allergic to MSG (monosodium glutamate), a very common food additive. While it took some time to try to convey what this was, I wasn't sure they'd understood--so I just picked something from the room service menu each day and said, "Please make […] it the same dish but only use salt and pepper." They gladly did that each time and reminded me, "That's because you can't have "gluten," right, sir?" I just agreed. The next morning for breakfast, they brought me my omelette and some unusually shaped bread. The waiter said, "Because you are allergic to "gluten," we went to the store and bought you some gluten-free bread." I was amazed. Even though MSG got lost in translation, they not only had a record of my allergey, they minded it--and went out of their way to accommodate me. Anyone can construct a hotel building. But when traveling, it's the small stuff like this that matters. W Hotels will become my worldwide hotel of choice from now on. Read more
"nice - but $$$ internet fees"
Internet charges were a bit much. Seemed like a rip off.
"Lovely Hotel, but expensive add-ons&far from sites"
If you are staying more than a few days, Mexico City is a great place to switch hotels midway through. My friend and I stayed by the Zocalo 3 nights and then 3 nights here, which worked well as Polanco is much lower-key than Centro Historico. That said, it is also a lot more expensive and convenience stores harder to come by. I'm more accustomed to […] budget hotels, but we got a good rate here and they have the mini-bar/snack bar all done up and it is so expensive and there are catalogs of their merchandise for sale. Just a pet peeve, but I'm less at ease when I'm surrounded by price tags. Also, services such as trips and airport service were significantly more expensive than at our cheaper hotel by the Zocalo. That said, it is very nice hotel with comfortable rooms, as you would expect from a hotel of its stature. Our room was very spacious. They have a clever shower with 3 spouts at different spots, but it took a while for them all to shoot water of similar temperature and it made that part of the room very wet, very easily. Read more
"duble eww (W)"
Great location in Polanco. Typical hip W setup with lively bar/lobby. Rooms ( I stayed in a corner suite) were a bit worn and showing their age. Staff was friendly and helpful.Wireless was expensive and did not work that well in my room; so poorly I considered asking for my money back, but didnt have the time at checkout. Liked having a printer in my […] room, but it was out of black ink. If you like the W brand, you cant go wrong. Just be prepared that as part of the W brand, there is a lot of nickel and diming, especially when you consider the base price you are already paying. Read more
"The W, simply the best choice in MXCity"
Husband and I stayed for the weekend, very efficient valet parking, checking in, and checking out. we did not get a chance to try room service, but by the speedy service in the restaurant, we would only imagine it'd be great. My only recommendation is to really try a different sauce for the Benedict eggs, not sure what sauce it was, but i could not […] eat it. Do not make a decision based on this, try it yourself, for all we know the rest of the dishes were superb. Would definitely come back. Well done W! Read more
"Really nice hotel but very expensive."
The hotel is really great, rooms are wonderful, the lobby bar is really nice., neighborhood nice and safe... the only bad thing to say is that its a bit overpriced..... but if you get a good offer is a great stay!

"Fancy hotel"
Cool rooms, fast wifi incl in the price, modern and new. Great views.
"W Mexico City"
The rooms are much smaller then the pictures strange layout in bathroom
"W Hotel, great, but price"
The W is a great hotel; good restaurants, nice views, and a hammock in the bathroom. (The shower, oddly, faces the window. It's interesting if a bit disconcerting at first.) Great food, good service, fast internet, good location for business. The downside? The rooms cost $100 more than next-door luxury business hotels, and as always, the W seems to […] charge extra for almost everything. In other words, a great place, as long as you're not too price-sensitive. Read more

"Stylish modern hotel, great location!"
The GOOD: BED!!! (very, very comfortable) Stylish Hip and happening Large rooms Service Location The BAD: The rooms need some maintenance...bad paint job in rooms, probably need some freshen up. The UGLY: EXPENSIVE for what you get. There are 3 other Hotel options next door just a few steps away, maybe not as stylish and "young" but just as good and […] for less per night. "Better than too good."
Better than too good. service outstanding. everyone very friendly. I will be back again and again and again.
"Maintenance"
The shower drain was clogged and due to flow of the shower, the room flooded. On other comment, We did not care too much for the curtain closing the shwer and the wc. We would much preferre a glass door or something else.

Weird low lighting in hallways and reception. Not into the trendy decor. It's not the JW but it also costs a lot less, has a great gym and overall good hotel in great location.
"Great hotel, great location"
We have stayed at many hotels in Mexico City. This is one of my favorites. I love the decor of W hotels. The rooms are very clean. The staff was very helpful and friendly. The Polanco neighborhood is great for walking around with not only designer stores but also delicious sidewalk cafes and parks. Very European-like.
"W Mexico City - Great hotel, service and location!"
Though I had a minor issue with the room I have asked for, as soon as it was available - my second night there - they gave me the room I had asked. The view is astonishing, service is superb and location, unbeatable. Great place to stay! Just be prepared to expend some extra bucks!
"Stilvoll modern, sauber und gepflegt"
Stilvoll modern eingerichtetes Hotel, sehr sauber gepflegt. Read more
"EXCELENTE ESTANCIA"
