I've always loved this hotel. Great place to stay and cheaper than most. Nice TV's and clean rooms with great beds. Somewhat noisy sometimes depending on the neighbors next door.

I booked a family room for 2 nights on 11/20/2012-11/22/2012. When I arrived at the motel, I emphasized that I want a non-smoking room. The lady said she couldn't guarantee that room has no cigarette smell and I would have to pay an additional $10 per night to change to a complete no-cigarette room. For the free wifi, I was given 2 fortunate cookie […] like little paper each with unique pass word. I used one pass word for my laptop and my wife used another pass word for her iPad on our first night. We both were able to connect. When we woke up the next morning, only iPad was able to connect. Since we would be going out in less than 30 minutes, I didn't bother to ask why. When we came back for the 2nd night, I went to the register for another 2 pass word papers again. She told me that the motel only provide 1 free wifi connection(device) per night so I have used up the 2 complimentary pass word on the first night already. I would have to pay $5 for one device per night. I ended up pay $5 and my wife and I shared the laptop. The motel squeezed out $15 on top of what I already paid to Expedia but guess what, I am not going to stay at Hyland again for my week-long trip X'mas to LA. I want the potential customers to be aware of - family room doesn't equal to non-smoking room and be prepared to pay extra $$$ - if you have more than one device, be prepared to pay extra $$$ Read more

Better than expected room quality. Brand new beds, remodeled bathroom, microwave available, wi-fi included and flat screen TV. Deserve a better rating and more stars. Very very satisfied.

Decent motel. Not bad, very clean but it is what it is. Slightly divey but the have remodeled. Free wifi, low rates and clean accommodations. What more can you ask for but you are getting what you pay for. We stayed here I'm a quality person but I understand value. I would stay here again.

This was a surprise stay. It was cleaner than another location we had stayed a few days previous. I would stay here again. The restaurant across the street had excellent breakfast.

The only hitch in my stay was when I went to check-in . Expedia didn't have my booking information forwarded to the hotel so they couldnt check me in. I had to call Expedia to get that done, which I wasnt to pleased about. Other than that the hotel was good especially clean for the money.

We were very impressed! The room was clean and neat, the hotel itself -even the parking lot and landscaping- was groomed. Great prices and great place to stay. Me and bf will be back here again for a little "us" time :)

We needed a motel quickly for a family emergency. Not wanting to bust our limited budget, we settled on Brea's Hyland Motel for four nights. We were not disappointed by the location and accommodations. The walls are a bit thin, and one hears cars pulling out in the early morning as well as loud neighbors - but despite that everything was just fine. […] Room was neat and clean upon arrival, and was thoroughly cleaned daily. Nice of them to offer in-room refrigerators not stocked with expensive items. We purchased basic food & drink supplies and stored them in the room. Okay, this motel is just fine if all you need is a clean room with comfortable beds. No frills for sure. One thing I did not like is that the adult channel is freely accessed without controls, so if your children are switching around channels, there is no way to avoid them from seeing porn. Pretty distasteful, which then makes me wonder if this place […] is a more of a "booty-call" joint. But in all honesty, it was clean and the beds were very comfortable. Travelled w/ wife and 4 kids. This room had 3 double beds, fridge, micro. Room was nice and clean. Manager was nice. Close to Disney in Anaheim. City of Brea was nice and people friendly. Only thing missing was no pool, but good price.

It seemed quaint and clean at first, but was a nightmare with paper thin walls and our sleep interrupted with most unpleasant and embarrassing activity next door. They came in the hotel loudly at 4 a.m. and left two hours later. Not the kind of hotel we want to stay in again. Also, we couldn't get a clean towel until we turned in the used one.

The room, location, amenities were great. However, this hotel is owner-managed (owner lives on premises with family) and the owner seemed to always be there in a way that came off as very over zealous. Examples: We stopped back at the hotel to grab something and stopped in the loading area directly in front of our room. He came out and told us we couldn't […] park there before we even got to our door; also, either he or a maid called us EVERY morning to ask about room service before we were even awake (there was no do not disturb door hangers) and one time the maid had her keys in our door while she called us from her cell phone. Amenities were nice and all but unless you get up early and stay gone all day the staff/owner seem to never leave you alone. Stay somewhere else. The rates aren't that good. Read more

This hotel wasnt a bad stay. We went to the Improv, and it was a close enough walk to and from. I wouldnt necessarily say it was worth the money. The rates should be a little less. The room is small, but comfortable. Their towels are larger than what most hotels have, so that was a plus. I took the drain plug out of the shower and there was a big clump […] of hair stuck to it, and lots of hair stuck down the drain. It was gross, and they should be keeping that clean. Otherwise, the room was clean. Everything was good. The only other complaint I have is that the front desk called our room at about 9am, which woke us up, to ask if we were staying another night and to tell us that check out is at 11am. This motel is clean and offers good service. Internet is free, and cleaning service is offered every day. There is a hairdryer, a microwave and à small fridge. Bed is comfortable. My only complaint is that the ac was very loud, and right next to bed which made it impossible to have it on during the night. But overall a nice little motel.
