"Times Square Nugget"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 6, 2012
We really enjoyed our stay. We stayed for a week and were glad to find a hotel right in the heart of Times Square. The service was definitely top notch! The front desk was courteous and the concierge was very helpful, recommending great shows and restaurants. Our room was nice. It could've been a little larger. But the bathroom was a good size and the size of the TV's and the fact that they played HD was a bonus. Also, the bed was quite comfortable. The cleaning staff did a fine job of keeping up the room. I'll definitely recommend this hotel to others.
"Consistency. You can depend on it."Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 6, 2012
Finding a "GOOD THING" these days can get harder and harder. For this reason when you come across a 'good thing" it is priceless. One of the most recent "good things " that I have come across is the PARAMOUNT hotel in Times Square. The first thing that I leave the hotel impressed by is the professionalism and commitment that is demonstrated by the staff. Starting with the front desk where I was checked in by Catherine and continuing until the driver which I received at the hotel hands me my luggage at the airport. Catherine followed the details of my visit until the moment I checked out. The only dislike that I had which eventually i got over was the view of the alley where the boiler or some loud machine was placed. I know that from now on I will request a room that faces anywhere but there. If you are going to New York and plan on taking in Broadway there could not be a more perfect location. I love this hotel so much I find myself wanting to travel to NYC more. I cannot wait until my next visit to the PARAMOUNT which I hope will be in the next few weeks.

We had a very good time and the hotel was close to work.

Very nice hotel, within walking distance to subway for access to Manhattan (take the 7 or E and you can get to grand central, times square, penn station). Just a few blocks to local restaraunts. The room was very clean, excellent staff, free shuttle to subway. Overall an excellent place to stay if your touring new york city. One note, if you are considering a "view room" save your money, the view is obstructed by a number of taller buildings (the hotel is only 7 floors). Overall an excellent experience and I would definitely stay again, especially at the rate because of the new hotel discount. If you plan to take a cab from the hotel call one yourself because the service the hotel uses charges a flat rate to specific areas and you can get a cab on your own for cheaper generally.

Lovely, cozy room with a big fluffy down comforter and great pillows. There was plenty of hot water too. I'll stay there again.
"Renaissance NY Hotel 57"
Excellent-clean, modern but cozy, artistic decor, centrally located, good shopping. One of the best places for the price that Ive ever stayed in NYC. The room was very sound proof and beautifully appointed.

"Stay at Renaissance NY during hurica Irene"
The hotel is well located and it was one of the few available during the huricane Irene. The price of the hotel is expensive considering the quality. The staff is awful, unfriendly and not willing to help in any way. We had to extend our stay in New York and the hotel want to charge a different rate, much more expensive. We decided to book another hotel, […] much better and for a better price. Do not recommend the hotel. Read more

Very nice Hotel, good location too right on 57th Street. Hip design and it iscarried through the Hotel's lobby, restaurants and rooms. Oh and about the rat in the hotel bar don't worry he was well mannered.....
"sucked"
sucked
"Renaissance New York Hotel 57"
It is not a good experience . The room allotted to me was too small. The service was ok and I even saw a small rat in the lobby . Over all I am not satisfied with the stay at this hotel.
"Rennaissance 57"
Location, location, location is what this hotel is all about! Our room faced Lexington and it was somewhat noisy! The room only has one mirror and that is in the bathroom which is not well lit. The food in the hotel restaurant was quite good! We would definitely stay there again!
"So comfortable!"
We had a great stay at the Renaissance Hotel! While the room was small, it was standard for NYC and had all the space we really needed. The bed was amazingly comfortable and the room was quiet! No complaints! We will definitely stay here on our next trip to the City.
"Perfect Hotel/Location"
This Hotel was Amazing. It was perfect for my long Easter weekend. If you like shopping, drinking, great cuisine and sight seeing this hotel is in the perfect location to do all that. It's a 10 minute walk to 5th Ave. and Central Park and a quick Taxi ride to Time Square. Oh yeah The Beds are the BEST, I over slept because it was so so comfortable. I […] am gonna stay there everytime I go to NYC. Read more
I stayed at this hotel during renovations and since. I was very dissappointed to see the "banged up" condition of the elevator interiors and the benches at each landing, given the short time since the renovations. The ongoing maintenance does not appear to be "spot on." The room this time as especially small but comfortable; however, the bathroom was […] generously proportioned. Read more
"Renaissance 57 Hotel in New York City"
This hotel on 57th Street between Lexington and Park was very oddly laid out. Arriving at 10:30 p.m. as I did, you enter at a narrow space at street level, check in at a small desk like a maitre d's, and go up an elevator by pushing a button on a large science-fictiony pod. You go up one floor, and the elevator doors open onto a loud dark crowded nightclub. […] I was thoroughly confused, and I finally found someone with a name tag, who directed me across the floor to a bank of three elevators which go to the room floors. After pushing a button on another strangely-shaped pod, I went to my room on the 12th floor. This seemed good as I thought it would be quieter. Unfortunately, I found that the room had not been cleaned or the linens changed. I couldn't find a button on the phone for the front desk, so I called the bell captain, who spoke very little English, but did eventually transfer my call when I said the room was dirty and I had just arrived. The young woman was very apologetic and found me a "junior suite" on the sixth floor and told me to go there and wait for the bellman to let me in. After a short wait, he arrived and we exchanged keys. In this room, the bathroom was quite clean and the bed had been made. However, although the linens appeared clean, the bed pillows smelled very strongly of rancid hair oil. I kept tossing the pillows away over to the other side of the bed until I finally found a pillow that did not smell. The next morning, the I found that the "nightclub" of the night before was a restaurant. Someone told me that the hotel entrance was indeed confusing and that the management was thinking of changing it. That night, I again had to toss away smelly pillows. There was a small sofa in the room in a light beige faux suede that was discolored with use and the one chair of faux leather was worn. Also, a small point, but irritating, there was no card to explain TV cable station numbers and the default was local TV7. I finally found CNN and CNBC by push Read more

"The Renaissance Hotel 57"
The hotel is very convenient to all the shops I wanted to go. The room is small but good enough for my short stay. I kept bumping myself at the bedframe. Good customer service.
"Great buy for pricey NYC"
This hotel is a great buy when you compare with other similar hotels in NYC. The hotel is only 2 blocks from the subway and about 3 or 4 blocks to Central Park. Other attractions are withing walking distance or a short taxi cab ride. My room was very clean and nice. The restaurant and bar are a little bit expensive, but, hey, this is NYC. Everything […] is more expensive in NYC. The hotel staff was professional and friendly. Read more

"Hotel was fantastic!"
We had an excellent experience. The hotel was very stylish overall. The room was well laid out and contemporary. The hotel bar and restaurant was perfect. The jazz band was fantastic entertainment to end the night. Great hotel! The only slight negative was our room was on the small side.
"Very nice hotel - good price"
The staff was incredibly friendly and willing to go out of the way. I was traveling alone with a toddler and they were always ready to lend a hand with a stroller or an extra bag. The rooms are spacious for NY (I've been in much smaller!) and the bathrooms are huge. The condition is a little bit run down or maybe out-of-date is a better way to put it. […] But everything was very clean. A lovely stay! Read more

"My stay in NYC"
Great hotel and the staff was great
"Great Location but Noisy"
The second floor lounge is inviting, the room was clean and comfortable, and the location was great. However, the room was tiny and there was a lot of noise from the street, so it was hard to sleep at night.
"Pleasant Stay"
We stayed two nights at the Hotel 57. We got a great price just before they officially became a Marriott Renaissance. We would not stay there at the current price. Rooms are comfortable and very small. They are nicely decorated with a contemporary and elegant style. Marble bathroom was small but nice. Good area of town for shopping and dining, but very […] busy and commercial. The room was quiet. Two rip-offs, in my opinion, are the $18 per day for internet. You can get free internet at Starbucks next door. Also, $55 per day for parking is outrageous. We parked in a garage down the street for much less. Read more
"Awesome!"
This hotel is really nice. Great Staff. awesome modern decor. Staff gave me free full gourmet breakfast which was very good. Excellent Location. A little contruction/renovation (which is always good) on the 2nd floor but did not bother me as my room was on the 15th floor.
"ok, but wouldn't stay again"
my wife booked hotel for a business trip, because of location and price. its a good thing that she provided me with a print out of room description with the reservation confirmation because they tried to put me in an inferior room, and initially claimed that the room was the coorect room. The manager finally moved me to the room I had booked, and it […] was acceptable for my stay. Read more
"disappointed"
We were not told that there was an extensive renovation going on. There were not any drawers in the room, only a single closet. We were supposed to have either a queen or king size bed and were given a full. The tub stopper did not function properly so we were unable to bathe. The only positive was the location was very convenient, however I would not […] stay here again. Read more
"Renaissance Hotel NY"
On contacting hotels.com & giving them a full spec on our requirements, they found this hotel which apparently ticked all the boxes. On arrival none of our requests existed at this hotel & we certainly feel that the rating should be dropped, having traveled so far it was most disappointing to say the least !
"Renaissance New York Hotel 57"
Great location - near Central Park and all Mid-town attractions. Service was excellent, friendly and room was clean. Only downsides: a bit expensive given the small room size (typical for NYC), and no complimentary coffee/tea/kettle in room (typical of NYC but a real shame). Definitely recommended for couples or those on business (not families) or anyone […] wanting a clean room and great location in NYC. Read more

"Good central hotel"
Hotel 57 is a very good hotel with decent prices. The hotel has been renovated, recently finalized, and has a good overall standard. The personnel was helpful. Breakfast prices a bit high for four persons though, we preferred the small dinner across the street.
