We didn't end up staying at the Inn at the Shore because our room was very small and it was also hot and uncomfortable. I was surprised that the inn keeper thought we (myself and my husband) would fit in that room with a 1 year old in a pack n play. We were completely unsatisfied with the Inn at the Shore and the inn keeper wouldn't give us a refund. […] Thankfully, Hotels.com was reasonable and kind enough to refund us, even though it wasn't their responsibility. Thank you, Hotels.com! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Very nice place to stay, Tom and Rosemary are very friendly and pleasant inn keepers. It felt like we were staying at our grandparents house. The porch was a great place to relax and enjoy breakfast. Great proximity to the beach and close to main street Belmar. Overall we had a very nice stay and would recommend to anyone looking for a cozy home away […] from home to stay at while spending time at the shore. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Christmas in Belmar"

Our family of 23 celebrated Christmas this past weekend(12/19/14) at the Inn at the Shore Belmar and has a wonderful time. Tom and Rosemary were so gracious and so very friendly. We were 11 adults and 12 children. We enjoyed all of the holiday decorations, the fireplace and breakfast each morning. Everything about our stay was great. Thanks, Mr. and Mrs. Volker for a very memorable stay and we look forward to visiting again. We recommend the Inn to everyone!

We stayed here in mid-November 2014. It was a very restful weekend. The Inn is walking distance to the beach and a great restaurant. Our room (Emily) had a large bed, a tv, jacuzzi/tub and other amenities, and also felt warm and hospitable. The breakfast was delicious, especially the muffins and yogurt/granola. The Innkeepers, Tom and Rosemary, are very friendly and hospitable. They also know much about the local community. We can't wait to visit again, hopefully in the spring.

Spent a night at the Inn at the Shore on a business trip - 10/31/2014. Very comfortable, quiet, warm and inviting. Extremely friendly and accomodating hosts, great location and a delightful breakfast was prepared for me first thing in the morning. Thanks so much to Tom and Rosemary for a great experience.
"Nine years and counting...."
With the arrival of autumn - and the colder weather with it - I so often think back to the warmth and comfort of my stays at The Inn at the Shore over the past nine summers. Every year my stays continue to provide me with the peace and relaxation I am looking for after another hectic and demanding year at work. From the hours on the pristine Belmar beach to the end of the day glass of wine on the wrap around porch, it is always just perfect. Tom and Rosemary are the most gracious hosts ever. They are always there to help you to make your stay what you were looking for when you chose The Inn - whether it is finding the best local restaurants and shopping, answering questions about fun things to do, or being given the space to unwind and enjoy some quiet down time. Can't wait for my tenth visit next summer!

My husband and I just spent a few beautiful days at our favorite get-away......The Inn at the Shore. We appreciate the way Tom and Rosemary go out of their way to welcome us and help us enjoy our stay. We have stayed here often and feel like we are visiting old friends. Due to the cooler weather, we enjoyed sitting in the warm sun in the side courtyard. (The wrap-around porch is still a favorite.) Our stay in the charming Kelly-Lynn Room was delightful but as usual not long enough. Tom's granola is the best.

Home away from home! Comfortable & cozy & Tom & Rosemary are warm & charming hosts! We've been here several times! Close to belmar beach! We spend every September at the Inn to celebrate our wedding anniversary! We are no strangers to this town as we travel from Staten Island to Belmar beach every summer for the passed 20 years! we highly recommend The Inn At a The Shore!

What a wonderful time my husband and I had at this lovely, victorian Inn. This certainly was the innkeepers' (Tom and Rosemary) calling. They were so gracious about helping us find restaurants and entertainment in the area. They are a stone's throw from the ocean and the town itself is just charming. Taking long walks along the beach was so relaxing. Our room was very clean and comfortable. I read for a good many hours on their lovely wrap-around porch. Breakfast was delicious and we were greeted by the smiling faces of Tom and Rosemary who apparently just love what they do. We will definitely make this our get-away from now on. We've stayed at many inns over the years but this was the best experience we ever had and was much more than we expected in all respects!!!!
"A Triple Combination!"

At the end of the summer, we stayed for a couple of nights at the Inn at the Shore. We have stayed there on several occasions over the years and have never been disappointed. And on each occasion, the three things we love about the Inn keep coming out: 1. The Inn is a true Victorian style, complete with the large (and friendly!) wrap-around porch, living room and large dining room. The rooms offer both quaint accommodations with modern conveniences. It is indeed a relaxing atmosphere. This inn does seem to attract very friendly people, yet affords the utmost in privacy. 2. Location- not only is the Inn only a block from the beach, Belmar is also a very nice town with some very good restaurants. The main street is only a couple of blocks from the inn and can make a nice walk as well as a quick ride. 3. The hosts- Tom and Rosemary are not only very nice people but are also well-thought-of in not only the industry but also they are well-respected in the town itself. We had seen a very nice write-up of Tom in the local newspaper. Over the years, we have stayed in various different rooms but have never been disappointed; We have always gotten a good night's sleep, with very comfortable beds and a quiet atmosphere. We would recommend the Inn at the Shore to anyone...
My husband and I made a last minute reservation at the Inn and were more than pleased!! We made reservations for the queen room but Tom upgraded us to the King room at no charge!! Tom and Rosemary were both super sweet and accommodating. Breakfast was very good (Tom makes delicious granola)!! We would definitely visit again!!

after reading all the reviews my husband and I couldn't wait to spend the weekend here. The inn itself is nice, although our room "Emily" was very small and disappointing. And, this was the largest room in the inn. There was no sitting area at all. The owner, Tom, was not the friendliest person. Saw Rosemary at breakfast and she barely managed a "good morning". Breakfast was mediocre. Scrambled eggs and Jimmy Dean sausages. Although the granola was good. Luckily, we got to breakfast early the next morning because there wasn't much food. Same rubbery sausages and a few pieces of eggnog French toast. other couples came downstairs later and there was no food left. We found out later that Tom and Rosemary had gone away for a few days and one of the maids cooked breakfast at the last minute.. We could have had a better breakfast at Holiday Inn. Also, I think $280 is a lot for off season. We felt we stayed at a different inn than what the reviewers said. On the plus side, they have a lovely wrap around porch.
