This was my second time to Tarrytown and the first at your hotel. My husband and I loved it. All of your staff were so personable and helpful. The general manager had a nice talk with us and informed us of the festivities that occur in October. We will definitely be back to stay with you then. Thank you so much for making our trip memorable.

I stayed with my 2 little children under 5 and my boyfriend. The rooms were clean, perfect controllable temp. and close to everything. We were greeted with a sweet bellhop named Steve and by the end of our 3 days the GM even introduced himself only after chatting us up on our walk through the grounds. He seems like really nice guy. We ate at the buffet […] everyday and again the staff made me and my food tossing toddler at home. It is definitely expensive at $25 for the buffet but my kids ate free. My boyfriend is a chef and can be a tough critic and even he thought the service was fair for the convenience. We would suggest fresh squeezed juices and serving French styled omelettes. We also ordered room service for dinner and lunch. The dinner was expensive to begin with but when my bf offered a tip of $30 the server took it. The very next morning a different server told my bf that the tip was built in, that was disheartening we spent $170 bucks on cheeseburger for the convenience and they took us for more. We werent that impressed with our dinner. We applaud the honest server. It's always hard to have very little children when visting a hotel, but they really tried to accommodate. Unfortunatly, the hot tub didn't work for 2 out the 3 days. We would love to suggest maybe providing small life vests or pool toys for the kids. Service was beyond compare. Stopped early to drop off a second car at 10am and was offered early check in. Room was immaculate. Property and views were great. After dinner in Tarrytown we visited the on site bar. Again, great service and pleasant help.

The grounds are beautiful with view of the Hudson river in the distance. It was a cold winter day in the 20's with wind. There is a lot of walking from parking lot to your assigned building. You can go from building to building inside but lots of stairs. Would be a challenge for physical limitations. Very quiet; we nearly had the place to ourselves. […] Enjoyed the pool, spa and sauna. I have to stay in this hotel in when visiting a child at school. I've probably stayed here 25 times +. It never improves. The staff continues to be poorly trained, indifferent and frankly, rude. In my opinion, this hotel cares only about weddings / parties / business conventions -- they do not like to deal with individuals. Booking through Hotels.com […] continues to yield a black hole at the property. When you arrive -- even at 2 a.m. as I did last weekend -- after booking at 6 P.M - only THEN will they begin to work on your reservation and will ask you to have a seat -- with nothing going on at 2 a.m. it will still take 15 -20 min to check in. Front desk at night continues to have no bank, can make no change -- not even for a 10 so that you can use the vending machines -- have complained about this before. Scheduling a late check out it a huge drama. It costs money but nobody knows how much and they can't figure it out until the next day. So you can't do it the night before. You'll have to get up early, call them and then get the late check out granted. Still, even after this a very rude cast of characters will come and bang on your door asking why you're not leaving hours before your agreed check out. I've been through this 3 or 4 times with this hotel. All of these complaints are the same ones I've made a year ago -- nothing improves. It's a shame; this place has a lot to offer. Still the best gym within 10 miles. Better than the Ritz. Read more

This is a 2-star hotel masquerading as a 4-star. I’ve stayed there twice but never again. Here’s what happened on my two stays: First: June. Room had no hot water!! Fixed next day. Had shower, went out and returned but again no hot water: Changed room on second day. OK but smaller with very noisy A/C. Second: November and cold. Room temperature was […] 78 F. Called front desk who sent “engineer.” Wall thermostat broken. His advice: turn on window air conditioner. Would you believe? Tried it but it blew freezing cold air right over bed and room temp did not go down. Called front desk. Moved to new room. Room OK but room heater so noisy could not hear TV, could get temp up to 72 F; higher not possible. Other problems: long walk to parking lot. Breakfast is exhorbitently priced buffet. Better restaurants and diners in town. Towels like sandpaper--not 4-star quality. Staff not helpful and you’re lucky to find anyone who speaks understandable English. Read more

Getting into the hotel was very confusing. The site would advise not to use the GPS. I think it's only when we used the GPS we were able to get there! The room we were first given was without heat so we called the front desk and they sent a maintenance man right away but he was unable to make the repair so at 11:30pm we had to change rooms. The room they gave us had heat but it was so hot it was like a sauna and we had to keep the windows open the whole time???? Hurricaine Sandy "hit" Tarrytown the night I stayed. I was grateful to have had a cold pint and a hot, delicious meal just as the hotel lost power. Despite the loss of services, I had warm room, a comfortable bed to sleep in, and was safe from the destruction that the storm was causing. The hotel employees patrolled the hallways and grounds to assure […] our safety. zi managed a warm shower at 5AM, and when I left at 6AM to report to my nursing job, they even called the police to find the open roads to my hospital. It was my understanding from the staff that arrangements were already made to evacuate the remaining guests later that morning. I could not have asked for a more gracious and accommodating staff. My girlfriend and I had a great weekend getaway despite a few issues. 1) The TV in our room was not working, but the hotel engineer was there within 5mins of our call. He could not fix the issue and so we had to move to a different room. Although it was a hassle, the team did all they could. A bellboy came to help us with our bags and show us our new […] room. He also exchanged our keys on the spot. He also gave us two free breakfast vouchers to compensate for the inconvenience. 2) The second room also had an issue. The AC/Heating wasn't working. But again, the engineer was there within minutes and was able to fix the issue. 3) The dining room of the attached "Cellar 42 Bar" was full when we arrived for dinner. We were sat at the bar. 40min later we found out we were forgotten and on no waiting list. The server was highly apologetic and seated us within minutes (despite the fact that the waiting list was 45min long by now). Overall: We had issues, they were all well compensated for, and really didn't cloud our mood. The hotel is in excellent condition and quite upscale. The grounds are absolutely beautiful, with a partial view of the Hudson river and the surrounding forests. Perfect for a wedding. Read more

Hotel reminded me of that in the movie, The Shining. The grounds and Hotel were a real maze. No complimentary breakfast. Terrible coffee in room. Excellent workout facilities. Grumpy gym attendant. Overall, I would stay again, only at discount rate. Does not qualify as a high price facility. Front desk staff very nice and accomodating.
