Beautiful hotel and amazing location. Only bad thing is that toilet flooded bathroom during night. My 6 month pregnant wife requested a late check out as she was up at 5 am cleaning bathroom with me. When I was checking out I requested a reduction in the $39 late check out fee because of flooded bathroom. Manager said that I should report to hotels.com, […] then she said I should of reported it a 5am. I said I didn't want a maintenance man opt 5am or to wait and let flood get worse! She accepted this and then said my wife should or reported t, I said I told her not to as she was on her own, manager accepted that but said a reduction in the $39 was not in their power! It was just one excuse after another over a silly $39, I was merely requesting, it's been a long time since I was spoken to like that by a a manager of a hotel. Read more

The staff were friendly and efficient. We found our room to have a rattle in the HVAC System. With a call to the front desk, immediate and courteous arrangements were made to relocate us. The maintainence man was apologetic for the inconvenience and thanked us for bringing the problem to his attention. The room was spacious and modestly appointed. This hotel exceeded my expectations. The room was exceptional. The area is remote, but there's plenty to see and do within a 40 minutes drive. the room was quiet; we had everything we needed. there is a balcony and a beautiful view from our balcony window. the t.v. was old, but we really weren't there to watch television. The Review asks about Carriage Ridge, but we where told we had booked Carriage Hills which is not ski in/out at night. We had to stay in the Hills section which is older and not the layout of rooms we wanted, Pool towels are size of napkins and there is nothing for teens at night as they have to be 18 to go to pool or play pool after 9PM. Over the phone 2 days prior to arrival I had asked for this and was assured that as there were openings in that area that it would be no problem. We enjoyed our stay but booked two rooms together and they ended up in different buildings.There was not a restaurant on site. This would have been useful information.We enjoyed a full kitchen - so could have brought breakfast food.I would reccomend this to all.

Have been to Carriage Ridge Resort and Carriage Hills Resort several times. Cost is compariable to standard hotels but rooms have a much more homely feeling to them. We also book this location if we are visiting relatives in Barrie or attending certain shows in Toronto.

The facility is nice; well maintained, spacious and close to the hills. However, bookings made at the same time with the same confirmation number were at opposite ends of the complex (and it's a huge complex). It took an hour at the check in desk to straighten it out. The check-in facility is microscopic compared to the number of rooms in the complex, […] so I can't imagine how they can possibly cope with any large numbers of arrivals. The computer system seemed to part of the problem, with crashes and dozens of clicks per task. the pool is nice but the change rooms completely inadequate for more than about 4 people at a time and very poorly designed. Our room was incredible. Four of us stayed in the two bedroom suite and we loved every bit of our experience there. Every detail was accounted for by the hotel staff including soap for our dishwasher! It was the perfect place to spend a weekend. I was absolutely astonished by the quality of our suite and don't want to stay anywhere else now!

we were told the hotel was close to casino rama, it was not close at all. with getting lost (you are out in the middle of no where) the room was great but the distance in travelling really made it a nightmare.

the grounds are beautiful, the staff was great, theres a lot to do unless you have small children. We were there with our two year old and she was too small for everything except the kiddie pool. Also check local attractions befor booking - alot of places were closed from labour day till just before thanksgiving.
