It was a little hard to find -- "Neverlost" took us to the wrong 2 Via Roma. Driving into Taormina in the dark is challenging, but the town is beautiful and the hotel is perfect. First, the location is not great. Most of the activity is further around the bay to where the Valletta ferries come in. There are several hotels much closer to that spot, and you end up walking there several times a day, The walk from the Villa Paradiso is a brisk 10-12 minutes. But the real problem is with their slippery use of the phrase "side seaview." […] Really, it means "view of alley with a tiny sliver view of bay." I talked to the front desk about it, but they just blew me off. Hotels.com wasn't helpful either, despite the fact that their room description called it a seaview room. The room was small, the bathroom marginally clean, and the threadcount of the sheets had to be in double digits. Also, the wifi only works in a small area of the lobby. My husband and I stayed here for two nights in December 2011. We had a top floor room with a balcony, offering excellent views of the ocean. The room was clean and comfortable (not modern, if that matters to you). The hotel's receptionist was friendly and even offered to help park our car, if help was needed (parking in free, but on-street). One can […] walk to everything, including the Greek Ruins in 10 minutes or so). There are plenty of options for food nearby. The only difficulty we had was that we were driving, using a GPS we brought with us from the USA (with Europe's maps loaded onto it). There was a glitch, where the GPS took us to a nearby town, directly below Taormina, instead. With this in mind, it was complicated finding our way to Taormina, but once in town, the way to the hotel was well marked. The receptionist said this is a common problem for those visiting from the USA with their own GPS. Have a back up map. That aside, the breakfast room has excellent views and the common rooms are great. I recommend this hotel and would stay here again. Read more

The only real problem that I had with this hotel is the lack of functioning air conditioning. I visited in August when it was extremely hot and not having AC made it quite uncomfortable to stay in.

The hotel is located in a great location and is only a short walk to the center of town. The Hotel itself is an older hotel with a friendly staff. The rooms have rock hard pillows and are in need of refurbishing. The A/C's in the rooms barely worked and in one night we lost electricity for about six hours. Driving is extremely difficult in Taromina […] and parking is even harder to find. Expect tp pay approximately 15 Euro's a day to overnight your car. There is no pool at the hotel, but you can arrange to use their Beach Club at no charge and they will transposrt you free of charge (about a 10 minute ride). The Beach Club is beautiful and is right on the ocean. The restaurant at the Beach Club is also very good and is resonable in price. The staff that runs the club are terrific. Read more

This was a really great hotel. Everything about it was excellent (price, staff, rooms, breakfast and location). The only thing it lacks is a pool on the premises. But the staff was so nice and well connected that one day they let me use a pool at a nearby hotel, because I did not feel like travelling to the beach that day.

We came for our honeymoon and were not disapointed! It is an old building, but in great condition and with a great view. Its also located right next to a public garden and clay tennis courts (free for guests). The shuttle to the beach is easy, and the club at the beach is great!

The best thing about the hotel was the stupendous view of Etna in action and the Bay of Naxos from the sixth-floor restaurant. Overall the hotel was very comfortable, though the room was rather small (inevitably so, given the nature of the terrain). Although the hotel was generally well maintained, we were disturbed to find traces of a previous occupant in our bathroom on arrival. The hotel is conveniently located in the centre of the town, adjacent to the fine public gardens, but travellers without a car should be aware that access from and to the railway station and the sea almost inevitably involves a taxi ride costing €15 each way. Great location and staff where really friendly and helpful. We had room 235 and you get a small balcony with a great view of Etna and the sea view. Location wise the Hotel sits perfectly, close to a busy street full of shops and restaurants. A short walk and you are on the main street (midway) that leads to more shops and restaurants and a little square […] with a great view over the sea. Pick up a copy of the map on the desk at reception and you have all the information you need to spend the next few days hiking along a choice of up to 8 sightseeing walks. The distances range from 800 metres to 2,000 metres, all worth the effort if you can spare the time. The Hotel does not push any particular excursions but do try and book them for you if you know what you want to do. The roof top view at breakfast is also great as is the continental breakfast. The hotel even has a private beech area with a shuttle service, due to our interests laying elsewhere we did not use it so can't comment. Good to know its there if you wanted a day at the beech though. You also get free Wi-Fi for when you are back in your room, helps pass the time between activities and for researching the area for more to do etc. Read more

The hotel provides a free shuttle to a private beach club, entry is free to hotel guests who are provided with Loungers. Umbrellas and changing cabins for free. The area is lovely, sea water pool and guests can sit by the pool, garden or sea depending on your preference. The beach is long and sandy - rare on this coast. There is a bar and restaurant, the food and service is excellent and prices here are the same as in Taormina . Taormina a is a great base to explore from but on the days you want to sit and laze you will need access to a pool and beach and this hotel offers a great solution . Finally , this is perfect for couples of all ages , friends traveling together but I would not think it is a great option if you have kids, the beach club is very much geared to serving adults not children. The hotel is well situated close to the main street but far enough away to be out of the madness that is Toarmina town. It's worth paying the extra for a room with a view of Mount Etna and the sea. The hotel is well located. It's a short walk from the main street, and close to loads of restaurants. The cleanliness of the room and hotel were great. Biggest complaint is that the room's A/C did not work. We arrived in the late afternoon and found the temperature in the room almost 90F. We turned down the A/C hoping that it would improve, but when we returned late that night the room was still almost 90F. On first entering this hotel, we were very put off by the large notice demanding "No food or drink to be brought into the hotel". It didn't set the right note for our stay. However, reception staff did all they could to welcome us and went out of their way to find a space for our car (not an easy task with only three limited hotel car spaces, on a very […] narrow and hassling street!). We were extremely disappointed with our tiny, gloomy room ("garden view") and the sparse and dated furnishings. There wasn't room for our two pieces of luggage and one had to go on top of the wardrobe! It is really worth going for the "sea and Etna view" rooms which are very much larger and have greater comfort generally and a good size balcony. Well worth the extra cost. The restaurant, on the sixth floor, has a brilliant view over the town and, on a clear day, of the volcano. Breakfast was fine, dinner menu ok. Easy access to all the other restaurants in this busy town. Servicing of room came at the end of the afternoon, which wasn't great. Lovely spacious lounge with views over public gardens adjoining. Stayed at this hotel for 5 nights from Sep 28-Oct 3. Room was a reasonable size with a great view from balcony of Mount Etna. Not much choice of TV channels, only 2 English news channels rest Italian, would've been nice to have had a few more choices in the evenings. Lucky for us most days were clear and sunny so didn't stay in hotel too long. Room […] was cleaned daily and towels changed at least every 2 days. Breakfast was basically the same each day--rolls, croissants, crispbreads, fruit, cereal, eggs, cold meats, cheese, juice-sufficient but a bit boring after a few days, however good service (waiters provided choice of tea or coffee on arrival) and great panaromic view of Etna and surroundings made up for this. Hotel also serves evening meals although we did not dine there. However there is a reasonable priced set menu which changes daily if anyone did wish to. Everything is walking distance, about 5-10mins to main street (Corso Umberto), and there are many other streets with restaurants, bars, shops just off the hotel. Only 10-15mins walk to main bus terminal and cable car. Although hotel does not have a pool, it provides a daily bus (no charge) to a private beach with pool where you can just lounge around, swim or even have a meal. We had lunch there twice, food was really good. Hotel also helped to book a tour to Mount Etna of which there are several tours to choose from depending where and when you plan to go. A very centrally located hotel close to the pedestrianised Corso Umberto. Very welcoming and helpful English-speaking Reception staff. The Owner, English-speaking as well, had been born in the villa and had many stories of old Taormina. We were upgraded to a bedroom with an exciting view of Mt. Etna. This was a lovely hotel. To some eyes perhaps a little dated but that would be harsh. We had a room with a view to the side of the hotel over the tennis court, garden and the sea. The rooms at the front have views of the sea and etna. Those front rooms look really lovely, but even our side room was very nice with its own balcony. Breakfast in the hotel […] is very good. Nothing hot (other than coffee/tea) but a good selection of ham, cheese, croissants, boiled eggs, bread with jam or pate and plenty of fruit and yoghurt.
