The shuttle service to the Newburg-Stewart Airport--which is on the Ramada-WestPoint website--was on the whim of management cancelled the morning I was to leave for the airport. More than one traveler had to find his or her own transportation--meaning an extra 20 to 30 dollars! Won't stay there again because the management is unreliable.

The rooms are very small, but well-equipped. The whole hotel needs a renovation; everything is chipped and worn. Not much ventilation, just an old-school wall-mounted AC. On a weekend, the lounge is very popular- so there's lots of traffic- both people and cars.

This hotel put new furniture décor in over moldy floors, curtains and bathroom. The room needed painting and the door was broken. The bathroom had mold in the tub and didn’t appear to have been cleaned or was repaired and cleaning staff didn't go back to clean. Broken door is a safety issue and mold is a health issue! Front desk staff didn’t care and only reply was “OK”!!? Will not be back there again!!!

This is not a good hotel to stay in. It has broken glass doors and the hallway carpet was very dirty. The bedsheets were very rough and uncomfortable to sleep on.

The Ramada in Newburgh is very convenient, and I liked the price and the surroundings, but that's where the good stuff ends. This hotel is run-down, not well-maintained at all, and the staff, although friendly, were slow and not professional. The room had mold in the bathroom, but a decent atmosphere. At 4am, there was a fire alarm, which was difficult to hear in the room, and yet no call or sound inside the room alarm. I feel it was unsafe. The staff did a terrible job of helping their clients and did not apologize for the inconvenience.

I thought that the building needs a little work. The rear door had a taped up broken window and the security key devise was not active, the door lock was broken so anyone could just walk in. Not happy with that. Room was clean and staff was great with what I needed. Breakfast bar was good. Price was ok.

Get to hotel and only several handicap spots, pull into a spot and a fight is happening, cops were called. check in and no a/c in lobby and it was 93 degrees, was told the a/c in rooms worked, well got to room turned on a/c unit and it took over 8 hours for room to become bareable, crawled into bed and the sheet was wripped as well as the pillowcase, then at 3:45am fire alarm went off and hall was full of smoke, fire department gave the all clear an hour later....DISGRACE that no compensation was offered.

When we went to check in, one of the members on our party had a full Leg cast. When I told the worker at the front desk he clicked his keyboard about 3 times and told us he couldn't accommodate us. So our party member was forced to climb stairs to our room. The "breakfast" that was offered was a joke, burnt coffee and about 4 doughtnuts broken into pieces to try and feed all the guests.

Old hotel with small rooms, uncomfortable beds and bad ventilation. The AC unit was either too hot or cold and the air smelled foul. The water was either too hot or cold. The bedding, while clean, barely stayed on the mattress... and the pillow were cheap and stiff... The staff was UNFRIENDLY. We asked to have towels sent up (they give you 2) and we were told it would take about 20 minutes to do. I called an hour later and was told that I would have to come down and get them because they were too busy to do it. The breakfast was adequate and the parking was fine - but I would rather pay more and actually be comfortable. I thought Ramada was a better brand than this. I have stayed in Days Inns that were better than this. Go elsewhere... when we left in the morning, we found two people sleeping in their car in the parking lot.... I think their stay was better (and more comfortable) than ours.

Checked in after looking for parking and doing so way in the back. I had to carry my suitcase, not roll it, as the hotel is built on a slope so there were steps going from level to level. The room was "used" meaning it was built a while ago and there haven't been any real upgrades. But overall it was sufficient for an overnight stay.

Music was so loud in the lobby my husband couldn't hear the desk clerk. Many rooms in the back had the air conditioners torn out of them. The back door of the hotel was taped shut. Looked like somebody had kicked it in. There was an extremely noisy party in the event space in the evening. The room was decent, but there are so many other options in the area, why would you choose this one? We were stuck because it was a last minute reservation the Saturday of Labor Day weekend and we didn't want to spend a fortune.

Front desk personnel are not helpful. Housekeeping is nice, but not overly efficient at cleaning the room. Old towel hanging on the bathroom door hook, thick dust on top of dresser and Snickers wrapper behind the TV. No elevator, so be ready to carry your bags up the stairs. General condition of the building is poor. I would not recommend this hotel.

I have to admit the bath soap was very good, first time in years that the soap that hotel supplied actually bubbled and cleansed. AC was really noisey and prevented quiet sleeping.

Front desk tried to charge extra when we checked in for "additional guests". We had reserved on Expedia and indicated as such. Smelled very bad and garbage bags lined the hallways upon arrival. Towels in the bathroom weren't folded, stained and ripped. Mirrors and windows hadn't been cleaned and shower had mildew and mold. Only good for a one night, have to be here, stay. Would try the Super 8 next door to save money next time. Couldn't be much worse.

For the price, it was ideal. The exterior is dated, but the rooms are updated. Nice LCD flat screen, comfy beds and nice shower. Didn't use any of the amenities or utilize the free continental breakfast, so I can't comment on that. The location is central to all major highways. It's not the Ritz, but it's not the Super 8 either.

The photographs of this hotel are very misleading... While the same furniture is still there, it is much, much older than the photographs lead one to believe. This hotel is old, worn out and not very well maintained or clean. The breakfast buffet is a joke, walked in and turned around and left with family. Sorry, I hate to hurt anyone's business, but I don't like being mislead.

Hotel bathroom had a lot of mold growing on the wallpaper in and around the shower. Breakfast was good, a lot of options. Location was easy to find and convenient to the interstate. Hotel seemed to be in a safe location but a few miles away seemed to be very unsafe at night. Hallways smelled like pina colada I assume to cover up a moldy or musky smell.

The Ramada Newburgh , is a Fantastic Hotel'. the location is great, and the hotel is very, Very nice. This is my second time staying there, and everything was just great'. The rooms are very nice, with a little fridge, and a microwave on top, and the little coffee setup. Got a function to attend? , no problem , the rooms also have the ironing board, and a iron too'. Also, the room has a mini safe too'. The hotel has a pool, which is situated, in an enclosed courtyard area. Now, you don't have to be worried about cars driving by, and looking in on you. They have rooms availabe for functions and so on, as one was happening when I was there, this past weekend, of August 2nd, 2014. Service, was no problem at all. Professional , polite, and courteous. All and all, stay at the Ramada Newburgh/West Point, if you should ever find yourself up in this part of New York State. Easy to get to ; If you are coming from New York City, the 5 Boros, you take 87 North, the NYS thruway, up to Exit 17, then, make a right, which is 300 South, 2 minutes, and there you go...*. So, once again, Ramada Newburg, - 5 out of 5 ! . Thank you .

Stopped for one night to break up long drive to Canada. Location is excellent and if you plan to do nothing more than go for evening drive to Newburgh's very nice Hudson river front for good dinner and sleep the night, have breakfast buffet before checking out, the hotel is good. It has a nightclub/lounge and my room was close to it on same floor but I heard no noise. Very quiet. Room was small but adequate and clean. A bit dated but okay place for one night.

We stayed here because the Hampton Inn where we usually stay when we come through here in July was fully booked. What a mistake! The corridors smelled badly, the room smelled musty, there was nowhere to move the coffee table in front of the sofa in the living area where our daughter slept and we had to turn it on its side. Our biggest issue was with the mattresses - the sofa sleeper and king bed were both dreadful and none of us had a good night's sleep. The AC unit cycled on and off all night, and was very loud when it shut off. None of the bedroom outlets worked, nor did the bedside lamps. The drapes were shredded (they actually had cuts in them), the bathroom door had chipping paint, the towels were like sandpaper. We asked for hand towels since there were none in the room, but no one ever brought them. When we checked in, the person helping us at the front desk was extremely rude, but then someone else stepped in who was more civilized. Breakfast food was under par, even for this caliber motel. I would stay far, far away from this Ramada!

I will preface my comments by saying we will probably stay again. However, the shower in my room was not working properly; it was either very hot or cold. I'm sure the management would have worked something out if we were staying a second day (they had made accommodations the previous night when we got there) but unfortunately it was a one night stay.

A great stay for us. It was on a weekend, so there is no public transportation but the $22.00 taxi ride each way to Beacon. Within Newbough it's $6.00. During the week you can take the Fairey or the bus. This something Hotels.com fail to mention. Eating places within walking distances. Which is great!! Overall our stay was great.

Be warned, there are many little flights of stairs to drag your bags to your room, so use the driveway to get to your room and it will make your arrival much easier -- the front desk does not tell you this upon arrival. Beds were new, room was spotless, bathroom was clean and new as well. Not sure why, but hotel collects a very strange clientele spanning the gamut of bizarre. The bar/disco is a riot on Friday and Saturday. You will see people with ZERO sense of style or fashion. We laughed our butts off and considered doing a TV show about this place. Comedy aside, a great little place to sleep and clean up -- otherwise no real attraction here. You are in the armpit of New York don't expect much.

The lobby and hallways were pretty outdated and in need of cleaning (paint and lighting?). Stained mattresses tucked in hallway ends. The room was fine and the bed comfortable. The sheets and bedding were comfortable as well.

Mystified by the number of small (1-3 steps) staircases that made it difficult to manage luggage. (We are Seniors.). No elevator to 2nd floor. Pool was nice, clean, in a tranquil setting - big, beautiful trees. Front desk staff person not welcoming- all other staff friendly and helpful. Bed very comfortable-plenty of hot water. Cont. breakfast needs improvement. Lovely view of surrounding mountains from front entrance. Convenient to restaurants, shopping, gas station. TV was great! Would return most likely.
