I paid for the cheapest room and got that indeed. However, the air conditioner was broken and the staff did not hesitate to move me to a more comfortable room (that evidently costs more). For this I rate them 5/5. The pool was excellent for relaxing since it has a large area with a depth of only 1 foot... perfect for sitting in the water and enjoying […] cocktails. Dinner at the restaurant was excellent as well... I strongly recommend any visitors to try the pumpkin soup (contains shrimp). The buffet breakfast had a wide selection of choices, and there are many restaurants within walking distance that offers a wide variety of food. The only negative feedback I can give is the outdated televisions (that still uses VHS tapes). The wifi compensated for this though. Read more

We stayed 5 days in this hotel during the week and overall the experience was a good. It started off badly however as we got there at 4 pm and the room was not ready yet. We had to wait 30 minutes for the room to bed ready as housekeeping were still cleaning. Other than this, the hotel was good the facilities were as advertised. The rooms were clean and well maintained. The rain showerhead in the bathroom was great. There's close to 100 channels on the television so you'll never be bored. Although we didn't spend much time in the room as there is so much to do on the island. The fitness center was a bit outdated but had working equipment. The only thing missing was a threadmill but you can easily run outside on the road. There is free wifi in the rooms and around the pool and restaurant. Our package included free breakfast which consisted of the normal continental breakfast with an island flavour. Made to order omlets, fresh local fruits everyday along with cereal, bread, potatoes and plantain. Pancakes and tarts were alternated with muffins and french toast. The hotel restaurant had a good choice of food at reasonable prices. We ate out every night though since there are many restaurants within walking distance to the hotel. Read more

We stayed for a couple of nights through New Years day 2013 due to the proximity to the beach. The parking lot for the hotel was difficult to find initially, as the entrance is just around the corner from the Ritual Coffee Shop, on the same parallel road as the Royal Palm and the other hotels on the beach. We checked in, and were told that all rooms […] were booked except for the one that we were given, which was not the room that we had selected and payed for over a month in advance. We asked to get the room that we requested and were told to come back the next day to see if one had opened up. Luckily, we were given a poolside room which was alright with us, however I would strongly urge anyone to call the hotel before arrival to verify that the room requested will be available. Other than this mishap, the experience was great. The location is about a 10 minute walk down the road to the beach. The pool is great, though a little colder than the ocean water. We loved the poolside room where you could take a dip right out the patio of your room. Highly recommened after seeing the other hotels in Gros Islet. Read more

The staff at the hotel are very helpful. Nice folks all around. The hotel itself is nice enough, but more of a basic property which is in line with their prices. We stayed for a fraction of what it would cost to stay on the beach at a pricier hotel but had to make some sacrifices which I'm not sure we would do again. First the water pressure and temperature […] are terrible. Our shower was a cold trickle with a surprise of scalding hot bursts thrown in here and there. Second. the noise form the band outside at night is very loud and would keep us awake until after 1am. Lastly, the Rodney Bay area is a bit run down and seems to be in some sort of transition. Some of the beachfront hotels have been vacated and the ones that are open seem to be in need of repair. There are some great restaurants within walking distance of CoCo Palm but the bar/club scene is 99% local. Fitting in from the US or the UK seemed quite awkward at night so we retreated to our (very loud) room. All in all, if you can live with some of the downside, you can stay in St. Lucia very cheaply but when we go back, I think we will likely stay at another property. Read more

I stayed at the Coco Plum for a few days for a business trip. The hotel itself is locally owned, relatively new, and very well maintained. The staff was great. We stayed at the swim up room and we really enjoyed it. The location is unbeatable with the casino next door, the mall around the corner, and a 5 minute walk to the beach. Our only negative was the food. I suggest eating at one of the many restaurants and cafes that surround the hotel. Great fun!!

Have visited St Lucia on numerous occasions and have overlooked Coco Palms due to the negatives reviews. I took the chance to but the hotel because of its central location. For me, I like the fact that I was a couple steps away from the road, Bay Walk Mall, bars, bus stop (I used public transportation which was cheap as dirt) and supermarket. This was my second trip to St. Lucia and my second stay at Coco Palm. It is conveniently located near Rodney Bay, Reduit Beach, and excellent restaurants. The staff are wonderful and the hotel is great! The "swim up" room is particularly fun! I would highly recommend this hotel.

We were in the Kreole rooms in the older building, they were clean and the bed was comfortable. The shower had plenty of water pressure and the AC kept the room chilled, we even had to turn the temp up a little. We had a room with a wrap around balcony which was very nice, we used it nearly every evening for a night cap. The only negative was that their […] is very limited space for clothes, we ended up mostly living out of the suitcases. Also, the Kreole building is right on the strip of restaurants and bars so you have some noise and music until about 1am each night. If you are a light sleeper you might want to stay in one of the other buildings, or just stay out to 1am! The pool is really nice with plenty of lounge chairs, we always were able to find a pair when we wanted to hang out by the pool. We only ate at the hotel restaurant once, we asked for some vegetables for a snack and they tried to charge us $9 US for a couple pieces of carrots and broccoli. I am not much for hotel restaurants anyway so that sealed the deal for ever eating their again. The staff that cleans the rooms were very friendly and helpful, the rest of the staff was alright but didnt really go out of their way for you. The hotel is very close to Reduit beach if you would rather not hang out near the pool, you can take the back way and pop out at one end or you can walk up to the public access near Spinnakers which is about the center of the beach. The hotel is really well located, it is close to everything in Rodney Bay. We would definitely stay at this hotel again because we felt we got a good room at a great price at a great location. This hotel had a great location near Reduit Beach. It was about a 10 minute walk from exiting the hotel to the beach. The beach itself was calm and pristine, absolutely perfect! Hotel is also close to Pigeon Island park which was great for photos because of all the ruins. We walked from the hotel to Pigeon Island along the main road for exercise, but […] i recommend taking a cab. It was about an hour walk there. Cabs are also very plentiful around there and the hotel will be happy to set up excursions. I set up one to hike the Gros Piton, which is an hour and 45 minute cab ride away. So be prepared for long rides if you wanted to check out Soufriere. But the rides are enjoyable and the drivers will happily stop at nice views along the way. The food at this hotel was delicious and the pool was fantastic. It had families and couples alike stay there. The rooms and bathrooms are spacious with balconies. There are also restaurants and supermarkets/pharmacies all within 5-10 minute walking distance. Overall, I would stay there again! Read more

Well, the whole trip started off on a bad note. The airline lost out luggage, we almost missed our connecting flight because of a delayed flight, and when we got checked into the hotel, we did not get the king size bed I had asked for, they told us to call back the next day to see if one had opened up. Not a huge deal, but when so many things had already […] gone wrong that day, we weren't too happy about it. The kreole room was fine, nothing special. AC works, but leaked fluid all over my shoes one day, they fixed it quickly, but it was still an inconvenience. There were not too many people staying in the kreole building, but whoever it was, or whoever the staff was working there slammed doors there so loud the walls of our room shook, and this happened ALL through the night. Then, we got ants. Lots of them, and they bite too--so be careful. The pool and bar were decent, probably the best priced drinks in that area, but the food, like anywhere else on that island, is very overpriced for what you get. The walk to the beach isnt bad, but COVERED in broken glass and trash. If that isn't upsetting enough, the local homes that line the entrance to the beach have a security system set up that is very unsettling. They take cement and coat the top of the cinder block fence that surrounds the house and then stick broken glass shards on top...I've only seen this one other place so far, and that was in Ecuador. I wouldn't stay there again, or anywhere else on the island really. Read more
