Room very hot, no air con, hotel not impresses I had not booked directly with them, and so would not include a discount on breakfast. My feelings on this is, why then are their rooms available on other sites?

My room backed onto the area where staff seemed to be taking their breaks, it was also the delivery area and I was woken at 6am by the reversing alarm of a lorry, this noise as well as the continuous noise from the motorways made for a very uncomfortable night, no air conditioning in a stiffling room with no fans available. Also braekfast was extra which I think is a rip off

Lovely staff and hotel, food was good but the shower was awful. No water pressure at all so the shower did not function properly you had to stay under a long time to get wet!

Reviewed by R of Newcastle on May 5, 2008
Rooms were reasonable - but the TV channels are very basic with no sports channels available. It was Euro semi-finals night and the match was only on Sky Sports. This was not available in the rooms. This should be addressed ASAP. The hotel meal from the Restaurant was disappointing (on both nights) and did not taste "fresh". Pre-prepared and re-heated!! Overall a decent hotel and reasonable rooms - but nothing special.

Excellent location for NEC. would go back again. Cleaning routine needs to be addressed. Room was not ready for our check in time. Maids came in before we had checked out and started strippping beds and tea tray not very well stocked.

out of value="5""Great hotel - nice and near the NEC"
Reviewed by J of Margate on Mar 9, 2008
Stayed here for a couple of nights. It's about 10 minutes walk from the NEC and Birmingham International (rail station - also a link to the airport). Got a petrol station with shop next door. Numerous shops and eating places in the station / NEC, including a couple of bars (Weatherspoons in NEC and another bar in the station that does pizza!). There's leisure facilities (gym, pool, etc) in the hotel, included in price. Didn't use them - should have packed trunks and some gym gear. Room had flat screen TV. Shower (over the bath) nice and powerful. Good sized room. Heating / air con. Double glazed - no noise. Great hotel if you need a room near the NEC and don't mind a walk. If you're needing halls on the other side (Halls 10, 11, etc), allow an extra 20 minutes to get there - NEC is huge! Access to NEC is via the rail station.

Chose the hotel because of the pool facilities - watch out , it's a leisure club with a small pool and lots of non residents using it. The reception staff are very pleasant but leave a good half hour to check in and out as nothing seems to run smoothly. The room doors do not have a deadlock or chain, neither do they fit well, so the fainthearted may have disturbed sleep. Breakfast is a bit of a free for all - OK if you're a seasenoed hotel stayer but not easy to work out if you are a novice.
