"A big, warm hug!"

In April when I booked my stay at the Trumbull House, I had been dealing with a very cold and depressing winter (2013-2014), just like the rest of us on the east coast. I was desperately in need a a nice, big, warm hug! And...that was the feeling I had during my stay at the Trumbull House! Even the dog made me feel warm and toasty. He smiled when I arrived and continued to do so every time I came in and out. (of course, he smiles at everyone! Quit amazing!) The B & B was very clean and the room was comfy, warm and inviting! I invited a friend of mine, who lived in the area, to come visit me and have breakfast one morning and the Trumbull House chef made her feel welcomed indeed! I loved my stay and would be prepared to go back after the winter of 2014-2015 for another warm-hug feeling!
"A comfortable, relaxing B&B"

My wife and I recently spent four nights at the Trumbull House, staying in the spacious White Room on the second floor. The room was clean and well-appointed. The mattress was a little softer than we like, but that's a matter of preference. The breakfasts are as excellent and varied as people have said. Lloyd, who cooks and serves them, is a gem. He also was very helpful in recommending restaurants in the greater Hanover area. Trumbull House is well-located both for its easy access to Hanover and proximity to sites in both that part of New Hampshire and Vermont. It's also a love place to just sit and read. We would return happily.

Clean, comfortable, and spacious with excellent service. It was a treat to stay at the Trumbull House! We had alternate breakfast plans so I cannot speak to that but it smelled wonderful. I would recommend it and hope to visit again.
"Pleasant serene b&b"

I have stayed at Trumbull house on several occasions over the past 5 years. It is well situated to attractions of the area, Dartmouth campus and Medical Center, the Conn river and some nice hiking. It is a quiet and peaceful alternative to staying in the heart of Hanover or Norwich. The rooms are nice, clean and comfortable. There is a spacious living room, a small pond and outdoor chairs for relaxing. Has WiFi too. The breakfasts are good. The one thing that is lacking, which is why it gets 4 rather than 5 stars, is that at my favorite B&Bs the owners engage more with the guests at breakfast, with interesting stories or recommendations about sites to see, things to do etc. However that is a minor complain as the place is an absolutely great place to just slow down. I have stayed for both business trips and trips for pleasure and would stay again if the opportunity presents itself
"The epitome of a B&B experience"

A friend and I stayed here for two nights while we attended baking classes at nearby King Arthur Baking Education Center. The Trumbull House is so well marked, we had no difficulty finding it. Everything was ready when we arrived. The common areas were welcoming and comfortable. Our room was clean, cool, and well- equipped. We found the small hand-painted bouquets on the door jambs a charming way to locate the rooms - which are named for colors. The inn- keeper was on vacation during our stay, but we were well cared for by her two daughters (Margaret and Vicki) and Lloyd, the relief innkeeper. It was a real treat to be able to request breakfast at our convenience between 7 and 11. And what a breakfast. Beautifully served with every detail covered, from cloth napkins to long spoons for the assortment of jams. We were served fruit, juice, and coffee while we munched the day's freshly-baked treat ( I loved the chocolate chip scones!) and perused the menu. We spent some time wandering on the inn's property, following trails through woods and into the meadow above the pond. There was fish food available to toss to the fish. They even had towels available if you chose to take a dip. We also spent time sprawled on the living room sofa enjoying the soft classical music that played while we read and did crossword puzzles. It was, as others have said, a peaceful place. The linens and towels were soft and cozy. The lighting and electrical outlets were plentiful. There was no hair dryer in our room. Not a problem, just something to know. Plenty of parking, too. I would go back in a minute.
"Cute B&B with excellent breakfast"

Very cute B&B with comfortable rooms and nice surroundings as well as great options for breakfast. A little isolated and out of the town and no one was there to greet me when I arrived but as I was only there for a night this wasn't really an issue. If you don't have a car, you are far from any restaurants and taxis are unreliable.
"Nice and relaxing"

We liked the setting, relaxing and peaceful. There's a nice little pond with chairs where we sat in the evening and enjoyed the peace. Some nice trails are close by which provide as much walking as you'd like. Breakfast was superb and you have a menu to choose from. On the other hand, be aware that this place is a few miles from town. I don't know when the owner shows up, but it was left in the hands of a caretaker while we were there. Our room (Yellow Room) is average at best. If you are anything close to large, you don't want to stay in that room. Temp in the rooms is comfortable, but the hallways have no ac and are unbearable.
"Our favorite place to stay!"

My husband and I returned for another stay at Trumbull House in June for two days. We love the location (close to Dartmouth and hiking) and the accommodations are superb. We always feel relaxed and rested when we stay at Trumbull house. Sitting by the pond in the early evening enjoying the beautiful grounds was such a treat. We can't say enough about the breakfast. You are offered a choice of breakfast every morning and everything is absolutely delicious. We plan to stay at Trumbull House whenever we are back in Hanover. It's become our home away from home.

My husband and I just stayed at the Trumbull House Bed & Breakfast for three days for my 25th Dartmouth Reunion. Most of the other guests in the six rooms were also Dartmouth alumni at their reunions. We stayed in the Suite, which was very spacious, clean, comfortable and easily could have accommodated four adults and a child or a couple and three singles (one child) in the two rooms and two bathrooms. It was like staying in the personal home of a family friend with good taste and manners. The hostess and her family were discreetly there in their own part of the house, never intruding or being pushy. Every evening we indicated what time we wanted breakfast the following day. We were offered a choice of several sumptuous breakfast meals, fresh juice and coffee every morning. The Keurig machine downstairs allowed us to make our own coffee, tea and hot chocolate any hour of the day or night. The hostess also provided umbrellas, thoughtful suggestions and an invitation to enjoy the extensive hiking trails on the 15 acres. Located only a couple of miles from campus, this is the ideal location from which to enjoy the college but also a very restful and relaxing sleep. A business center upstairs provided a computer and printer for guest use, and free Wifi was very much welcome as well. We would recommend this place to any guest visiting the area, and hope to stay here again ourselves in the future.

This was our first visit to Trumbull House Bed & Breakfast and already we can't wait to return. Close to Dartmouth and King Arthur Flour Co. There is a lovely pond on the grounds and several adirondack chairs to relax and enjoy the peaceful setting. Breakfast was delicious, with many choices and you are given the option to sign up for the time you will want breakfast each morning. The common room offers books, dvd's, and puzzles as well as a Keurig for a quick cup of coffee. Very comfortable bed and thick towels. All in all, one of our favorite B&B stays ever!
