"Anniversary on the lake."
The proprietors are very personable and informative on the area amenities. We were in the honeymoon suite, some of the decor was a bit cutsie for my tastes, but the room was very comfortable all the way around!! Breakfast was tasty and very ample! Great coffee! Despite extreme heat outside the room did not require AC on, the ceiling fan was effective. The lake breeze was gentle, waves were relaxing to hear.

"Quaint place, not much around"
Room was clean. Location is on Lake Michigan, they have a nice little "beach" area. They have picnic tables and a fire pit. Algoma is a little far from most of the other Door County attractions. Owners were super friendly and really nice. If you had any concerns or issues they were more than happy to accommodate. They cook breakfast in the morning. I personally, was not a fan of eating with everyone and would rather of had some sort of spread laid out to access at my convenience.

"Great location"
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Water's Edge B & B. Kari was very welcoming, breakfasts were delicious as well as the conversation. The sound of the waves from Lake Michigan was a wonderful sound, especially for sleeping!! The only disappointment was the sunrise each morning was covered with clouds. Unfortunately, Kari had no control over that!! If we ever venture to that area again, we will definitely put it on our list to revisit.

"Great B&B to fall asleep to the sound of waves"
This hospitality of at this hotel is second to none. Kari, the owner makes you feel very welcome and part of her family. Her breakast made of fresh pancakes or quiches are the perfect way to start your day. The squirrels and chipmunks even come to greet you as you are having breakfast. Plus\the historic town Algoma is a great base to explore the rest of Door County.

"B & B"
Nice people and beautiful view. The worse problem was the noise of other guests...not much could be done I suppose. But, maybe explaining to other guests that after 10:00 it is time to be quiet. Couldn't hear the lake splashing on the shore if we wanted to as we had to keep the window shut to help with the "people" noise. Bed was not made very well the second day?? Thought that was kind of strange.

This was our first Bed and Breakfast experience and it was wonderful. The owners were very nice and helpful. The location is great right on the waters edge with lots to do if you just wanted to relax there without venturing out to see the sites.

Our stay was pleasant. The weather was unseasonably cool for July. Algoma is usually 10 degrees cooler than the towns located North up the peninsula.

"Waters Edge Resort"
Our stay was nice. We had a late booking and Dave and Kari were awesome. I had some dietary restrictions ... and by that morning she was able to accomodate us. There is something about sleeping with the screen door closed and hearing the surf of Lake Michigan lap the shores. the view is amazing ... We didn't arrive unitl well after 10 p.m. but they left the check in door open and a little map on how to get to our room in the dark...It was perfect. It is very close to Door County and I would rank it a high number. We had the honeymoon suite above the garage .. It was private and just lovely. The decks all connected and that lead to the dining room.. not typical but again you are walking along the lakeside. We only stayed one night but definitely will come back again.

"Close to Door County."
The owner was very friendly and helpful but the breakfasts left a little to be desired. The view from the rear deck was unbelievable except that it was a pity that it faced east and therefor could not not take advantage of the evening sunset . Nothing that the owner could have done about the direction the house faced. Plenty of off road parking and easy commute up to Door County.

"Decent b & b"
Great views from the deck! Good size room and clean. This is an older b&b. Bathroom was small but adequate. Not for the handicapped due to small doorways and stairs to upper rooms. It is a very quiet area and you can have as much privacy as you want. Owners are very nice and there is wildlife present in the mornings. The breakfast fills you up and the coffee is good. Tea is also available. The room is comfortable with patio and front doors open with screens. A nice breeze flows through the room. The rooms are not air-conditioned. But, don't go there expecting to sit on a lawn chair at the beach. The area is covered with round slippery rocks and "muck" is at the water's edge. You don't want to get into the water at that place. However, it is only about 1 & 1/2 to 2 miles from town where there is a very nice beach with volleyball nets. The restaurants in town are a bit pricey. Overall, a nice place to stay.

"Great location and excellent hostess."
08/24/15 Rainetta Birmingham, United Kingdom
We had a great 2 night stay as part of our circular tour of Lake Michigan. In terms of location, it's only 2 minutes in the car from downtown Algoma and so you can't really walk to the nearest restaurant. However, this means it's in a nice quiet location and although there's a main road outside, we were not affected by any noise at all from outside. The views across the lake are breathtaking and it's lovely to sit either in the garden or at the lakeside and kick back and relax. We stayed in the Tropical Room and it was a good sized room and the bathroom was a decent size too (shower only, no bath). The room had a microwave and fridge and even a bottle opener, which was a nice touch. We had two really good night's sleep. Kari is a fantastic host and goes out of her way to make your stay the best it can be. She lent us maps and even her GPS, which was great for touring around Door County (especially when you're not used to the US roads). Breakfast was fantastic - fresh fruit each day, as well as a freshly made choice. There was too much food if anything. The Wi-Fi worked fine too. We were warned about the lake flies, but as long as you shut your bedroom door, they didn't present us with any problems at all.

"A Comfortable and Beautiful Place"
08/20/15 toes5 Rochester, Minnesota
We spent four nights at this Bed and Breakfast in celebration of our 50th Wedding Anniversary. Kari was such a warm and welcoming hostess and gave us some great conversations at breakfast as well as good food. Each unit has it's own theme and ours was tropical. She is an artist and had decorated it in that theme. The bed was very comfortable (even though I had to use the steps to get in it) and we had a beautiful view of Lake Michigan. The weather was perfect so we could have the windows open and were put to sleep with the sound of the waves. I would highly recommend this place for your trip to Door County. It is out of the hustle and bustle of all the "hot spots" and yet easy to access Door County by driving some miles.

"Great mini-getaway!"
08/12/15 Sue W Round Lake Beach, Illinois
This was my boyfriends and I first weekend alone in 2 years. Neither of us had been out to Door County and were looking for something just outside there, away from all the touristy stuff. Well this is the perfect place! Our room was clean and romantic, just as advertised. Kari was awesome, from the great breakfast to the Door County advice. Not to mention the spectacular views of Lake Michigan! It worth it to get up and watch the sunrise! We will definitely be coming back!

"Homely, quite bed and breakfast with great views"

We had stayed here for a weekend and had the honeymoon suite. We did not make use of the whirlpool bath tub but instead really enjoyed the marvellous lakeview when getting up and the sound of the lake when going to sleep. The room itself was spacious and full of slightly cliché decoration which was not entirely to our liking but set a positive atmosphere. The breakfast was great, we were served cassarole and french toast, always accompanied by orange juice, coffee and fresh fruit. The garden of the bed and breakfast is also large and invites anyone to sit outside, similarly does the deck. There is also a direct access to the lake. It is located just off the road to Algoma, which is about 0,8 miles away. If we went up to Door County we would probably try and stay closer to Sturgeon Bay since Algoma did not speak to us that much, but all in all we had a great weekend.

"Very nice B&B"
06/30/15 Barbara S Oshkosh, Wisconsin
The view is amazing! The building is rustic and clean. The owners are very nice. It's a very laid back atmosphere with everything you need for a relaxing stay. You do not have to share a bathroom. Each room has their own. What you see on the web site is exactly what you can expect. We were in the Northwoods room on second floor and it was very nice. Loved the room. This room is not handicap accessible, but there are rooms that are. You don't need to be on the second floor to get the amazing view. First floor will do fine. You can hear the waves crashing on the shore. There is no curfew because each room is accessible privately from the outside deck. There is no A/C, but being right on the lake just open the window. You may even need the heater! The breakfast was very good! Only 20 minutes from Sturgeon Bay. We will go back again.

Kari, one of the owners, is awesome. She makes you feel so at home. You are right on Lake Michigan, there is no beach area but walking along the shore is fun and there is a place to sit and relax by the waterfront. Breakfasts are phenomenal, all homemade, nice to talk with the others staying in the place. Chipmunks abound, saw some babies that were adorable. Room was very comfortable. Quiet area. Sunrise over the lake, beautiful.

"Quaint, comfy, nice property"
06/02/15 dmh724 Dousman, Wisconsin
This place is on the shoreline of Lake Michigan. My wife and I stayed at the honeymoon sweet. There was a whirlpool tub. Decor was a little cheesy, like a 15 year old girl designed the room. Beds were comfortable. Place was very quiet. They have areas outside where you can sit and stare at the lake or set up a small campfire. Every morning they serve breakfast and you sit with all of the other guests. I was not a real big fan of this, but if you are it is alright. This place is sort of out of the way if you are planning on going to do stuff in Door County. Overall I thought it was a nice place, but a little overpriced. Owners will bend over backwards to accommodate your requests.
