"Convenient to downtown"
GreatGenuine Hotels.com guest review
My son and I stayed here for one night and we had double beds. He woke up the next morning with bed bug bites all over his body. The toilet leaked pretty bad from the bottom. This hotel is a 5 minute walk from the convention center and pretty close to eating facilities. The decor inside is very old fashioned and needs an update. The price is not worth […] the stay. They do offer bagels, juice and coffee for their continental breakfast but everything in this hotel seemed so gloomy. I wouldn't choose to stay here again. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
I was very surprised with the shilo inn. It was immaculately clean. Their service was prompt and professional. The location to the moda center was prime. The mini suite was more than i expected. It had a king size (very comfortable) bed with a microwave and fridge. I oved how check out was at noon so i didnt feel rushed. The only thing i would recommend […] is that breakfast last till 10 rather than 9. For 70 bucks, i got everything i needed and was very happy. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"great location for convention center events"
This was a great hotel for the price. Location was perfect for the convention center. Starbucks across the street and a few restaurants nearby. Staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. Our room was very comfortable and clean. Also very quiet. We would definitely stay here again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Totally worth it!"
My stay at The Shilo was extremely enjoyable. The service staff should be awarded for best customer service in Oregon because they were seriously the most friendly and helpful people I had dealt with my entire trip. Hotel had everything you needed and was nice clean. If I could make one change it would be to upgrade the television or possibly swap out […] swinging door for sliding door to bathroom in room. Was a tight squeeze. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Overall this hotel is okay. The continental breakfast is only from 6-9 am. The first morning we missed it. I couldn't find anywhere the times for breakfast so we had to ask. The staff is friendly but the best part is the location of the hotel.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Close to event"
Bed was hard. Breakfast was what I would expect from a lower cost motel. I will spend an extra 20 bucks to stay next door.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Clean and comfortable"
Very reasonably priced, clean, and comfortable. I will lost likely stay here again next time I'm in town.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Close to the Rose Quarter and Convention Center. Room was good for the price, but beds not as comfortable as I would like. Decent neighborhood with a Starbucks close by.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"close to rose garden"
breakfast was lame. Not much thereGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Not much for breakfast"
Everything about our stay was great except breakfast. We walked in over an hour before breakfast was over and our options were bagels, muffins, oatmeal, oranges and apples. The coffee was empty, there was one juice left and there wasn't even cream cheese for the bagels. My option for the bagels were jam or butter. It was the worst breakfast I have ever […] had at a hotel. Other than the breakfast it was a very nice place and close to the location we needed. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Staving and disappointed."
There was an uninviting smell in the hallway. :( We had to move rooms because the toilet handle broke. There was a dirty scoop in the ice. Standards seem to be held low and lax. I use to feel safe with Shilo but this experience made me question whether I will stay there again. It might just be the location I stayed at and not all Shilo's. The breakfast […] was more than disappointing. Choices were rare. And even then, There was no cream cheese available for the bagels. There was no milk for the oatmeal. I've never been anywhere where the choices of breakfast was so small with condiments. Who eats oatmeal without milk? We also over heard a conversation. A lady asked a friend, "how was your shower?" The reply, "the handle broke off." I think this particular hotel needs to be looked into. It was also unrealistic and ridiculous. I only give harsh review because these are simple things that can be improved. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Nice and very clean."
Our overall experience was great. The hotel was within walking distance of the convention that we attended. The room was clean and very homey. Lots of room to walk and it even had a desk to work at and a table which 4 people could sit around to eat. We saved money as we got microwavable food so that we could eat in the comfort of our room and not have […] the hastle of going to find a place to eat with everyone else that was waiting for service. The staff there was very nice. Extended our checkout time to accommodate the time for our lunch time so we could eat in our room at the hotel, check out and then walk for the afternoon session of our convention. The price was right also. Thanks for an enjoyable weekend. Will definitely stay there again. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Unpleasant Staff - Nice Room"
So, the first thing I have to say is DO NOT TRY TO CHECK IN EARLY! They won't allow it. The late (4pm) check in time cannot be waived for any reason, and they WILL make you wait in the lobby. That is, if you're lucky enough to get 1 of the 3 chairs, and don't need to use the restroom. I got there at 130, carrying my 25 lb bag after having gotten lost […] trying to find the place! As I toppled into the lobby, the guy said I couldn't check in until 4 pm. After the trouble of getting lost finding it, I was livid. I asked if I could at least use the restroom and he said "we don't have one". After prodding, he suggested that I go to a Wendy's restroom 3 blocks away. Thanks >:( Once I finally did get checked in, the room was pretty nice. The bed was comfortable, the bathroom was very clean. The staff was generally kinda shady looking, so I avoided them. The breakfast was nothing to write home about, especially since it appeared that they did not restock during their breakfast times, you just got whatever was left if you came in late. I ended up staying in bed watching TV most of the morning to make up for their bad service. So, room gets the stars, the rest of it is a big thumbs down. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"clean, accessible, free parking!"
We were looking for a less expensive, passable hotel in Portland area that was not too far from the nightlife on the west waterfront side, and decided to try the Shilo Rose Garden. It was totally fine, easy to access, clean and under $100, with no parking charges! We will stay there again. Even though it was on the east side, cab fare to our favorite […] nightspots on the west side were always under $10. The desk staff was very helpful and pleasant with everything we asked and needed. Convenience store just a block away, with lots of eating establishments and Lloyds Center within just a few blocks. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"24 hour trip to Portland"
Shilo Inn was the perfect location to the venue of a concert we came to town to see. The front desk person was friendly, and helpful. We found our rooms to be nice, quiet, clean and affordable.Genuine Expedia guest review
The shower room was difficult to maneuver because the door blocked the shower and toilet. to open the door and get out you have to almost step over the toilet. The bed was surprisingly comfortable and it was nice to have a mini fridge in the room. The TV was very much out of 1990's and could use an upgrade to flat screen. Overall, I was rested and refreshed […] when I left. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Perfect location, excellent staff"
SO close to the max line. Plenty of grub within walking distance. Carpet trashed, but otherwise everything was tasteful and clean. Sauna area was sketchy and washing machines need to be cleaned and swept around.Genuine Expedia guest review
Nothing special - 2 star hotel at a 3 star price. Front desk very pleasantGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Smelled old, but it is, so what do you expect. Staff very polite and efficient. Breakfast left much to be desired.Genuine Expedia guest review
Rooms need to be updated. Still have tube TV, no flat screen. Air conditioning way too loud and too cold and no way to adjust. High cost of hotel reflected location not quality.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"decent but smelly room, nice staff"
The lobby smelled like BO and the room was a musty, smoker smell. Other than that the room was nice enough, appeared clean. Was very warm but helped after we opened the window for a couple of hours. Great location near the convention center (I was in town for a conference). Surrounding neighborhood is a little shady. Check in staff was very friendly. […] Wish they had told us that the front door would be locked after hours but someone was there to tell us how to get in through the side door. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
The hotel staff were friendly and helpful from the minute i checked in until my checkout date. Room was clean and comfortable. Its a great area and close to the pearl district and downtown. I will be staying here again on my next visit to Portland.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Close to the convention center"
We needed a place near the convention center since we were catching the bus to Seattle for the Timbers vs. Sounders match. The employees at the front desk were very friendly. The room was big enough for us, was clean and we had no complaints.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
This is a pretty central location that works for me while I am in town for work. The hotel is decent. Nothing special, but nothing horrible either. Pretty basic rooms, with comfy beds and pillows. My only complaint was the air quality. I tend to get puffy eyes/allergy symptoms in hotel rooms with the window AC units. I missed the breakfast, but the […] coffee in the room isn't too shabby for a little pod. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Convenient location to transportation available"
We had a group of 8 that were going to the Hillsboro Hops Baseball game and had a great time. Road the rails to various areas and had some great meals. Hotel room was nice and beds were great. Bathroom little hard to get in to and close the door but it worked.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"A good value near Convention Center"
The hotel is a bit shabby, but very clean, and service is good. Location is convenient to convention center and to light rail. Breakfast is not much, rooms were just fine.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Close to my daughter home and work."
Very satisfied will be staying there every time I plan to come to Portland. The rooms where clean the service was wonderful and close to a lot of places.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Shilo Inn Convention Center"
Excellent room at a great price and no charge for parking. Rooms very clean and comfortable, maybe little small but for overnight for a concert can't be beat. 10 minute walk to the Rose Garden. Cancelling room at Doubletree next month stay here again. Staff friendly and helpful, breakfast nothing to write home about but great coffee.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Room smelled of Meldew."
First thing we noticed when we walked in the room smelled very strongly of Meldew (wet towels). It seemed fairly clean though. The bed was ok. Bathroom was nice. One thing that really bothered me though was that the door did not like to close on it own, you had to make sure and pull the door closed when you left the room.Genuine Expedia guest review
"overall very good"
The staff was very nice. The room was actually fairly large but the bathroom was slightly small, but clean. The hotel was a little too far away from Downtown for walking so driving/biking is probably your best option. Overall great hotel with free parking at an affordable price! It is also right by a Starbucks and 7-Eleven if needed.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great basis downtown hotel"
Helpful staff - room was pretty small, but had all the basics and was clean. All that I needed for an overnight in Portland.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Good value with all the basics"
There isn't much in the immediate area of this hotel but it is located very close to the MAX rail which is great, and only a few blocks from the river which you can cross to access all of the restaurants and venues of downtown Portland. Our particular experience was a bit less than idea, but nothing terrible. We had a group of six people with reservations […] for three rooms, two beds in each room. Unfortunately when we arrived we were told that our rooms were ruined by a wedding party from the night previous, so we got downgraded to rooms with just one bed and a pull-out sofa. No mention of any discount or any effort to make up for the inconvenience. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Fine for the price"
For the price, it was fine. The room needed to be aired out to get rid of the smell and the floors both in the hall and in our room clearly needed to be vacuumed. The room wasn't filthy-- we stayed several nights. The breakfast was adequate; the people working there were polite; the noise level was low. If cleanliness is your number one requirement, […] this is not the place to stay. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
The Shilo Inn Rose Garden is an ok hotel. The rooms are a little small and the bed was a little uncomfortable sometimes to sleep in. The neighborhood isn't the greatest either. Still, it is close to the light rail line and has a very friendly and curteous staff. Still, I would look to stay somewhere else before staying here again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great for the price"
The hotel wasn't very far from the Convention center when my event was taking place. It wasn't the newest or nicest place I've ever stayed, but the room was clean and the staff was nice. Portland was a beautiful city, and I look forward to visiting again.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Very quiet. Attentive staff."
I arrived a little before check in and was permitted to check in. The man at the desk was friendly and answered all of my questions. I heard no noise the entire evening even though I went to be early.Genuine Expedia guest review
Whenever I travel to Portland for any activity at the Convention Center, this is my choice. It is a short walking distance for half the price of the large hotels that are closer.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Very please with the Hotel, will stay there again."
Very easy to get to. Places to eat near by, 7-11 right on the corner. Close to the public transportation, Farmers Market.Genuine Expedia guest review
All good except when room doors close shut they tend to slam which is very noisy.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Clean and very friendly staff"
Shiloh Inn exceeded our expectations in every area except the breakfast. Otherwise, the location is great, the staff helpful, and the room clean and spacious. Highly recommend it. We had breakfast at the wonderful Good Earth Café downtown Portland, so it was all around a great experience.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Excellent place to stay and great value!"
The staff were so friendly and welcoming. The rooms are tastefully decorated, clean, and quite spacious. I would have liked more of a selection at breakfast, but it was adequate.
