No delay in getting additional towels. Also, the morning clerk recommended a Diner for breakfast that was the highlight of the trip. Stellas. Great place. Great food. Genuine local clientel. At first was weary of booking this hotel because of some comment posted but I don't have any regrets as our stay was very comfortable.

It turn out great, the parking behind the hotel was not bad as there is a back entrance and there is a surveillance camera. The staff were very help full in giving direction. We were very comfortable, the bed and pillows, well that up to one's preference, we were very comfortable. The dual shower head I liked very much. I'd recommend this hotel

When we arrived we saw that the bathroom had not been cleaned well. We reported it and left for dinner. When we returned we checked the bathroom and the floor had been mopped, but there was still a toothpaste cap on the floor. They also removed our washcloths and did not replace them. The bedding had a huge stain that could not have been missed by staff when making it- should have been replaced. Large rooms, friendly staff at front desk, and good location.

This is a charming hotel. I loved everything about it. Our room was roomy, comfortable, and very clean. My only complaint is that I requested a wake up call at 5:30 am, and never got it. I called down to the desk at 6:00 am to complain and they did apologize. I had to be at a nearby hospital at 6:45, so if I hadn't woke up on my own I would have been in trouble.

We had 2 rooms during our stay. My elderly parents had a spacious room with a small kitchen. It was perfect for their needs. My room was comfortable and clean. The coffee maker supplies were restocked each day and their were always enough towels, The room was clean, the air conditioner worked well but was a little noisy. This was probably our only conplaint. The staff were polite and professional. We will stay here again when we come up to visit our daughter at SU.

Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on Aug 23, 2009
From other reviews I was expecting something a better experience than I got. The location is central, right near the highway. First, when you drive up, the entrance is in the front on the street, but the parking lot is way in the back. You can't get in the back door without a key so we dragged our luggage all the way around to the front. The room looked lovely upon our arrival, and the air conditioning was already on, so I was pleased. The problem was that the tub did not drain properly, so by the end of each shower we were standing in a foot of water. This should have been picked up on by housekeeping. Second, I don't like a really soft bed or really soft pillows. Every time my husband moved in the bed, it created waves of movement so that I almost felt like I was on a water bed. The pillows were so soft that they afforded almost no support. We won't be going back.

I saw the plaque stating the hotel was built in 1926. Someone told me it was refurbished a few years ago. Almost art deco in appearance. Rooms are great. Not huge but nicely laid out. First time I experienced dual shower heads. Real tile in the bathroom. TV in room is almost comical. Slightly larger than your computer monitor. If you lie in bed, you may be able to watch if you have exceptional vision. Refridgerators in all rooms, I think, which is a convenience. Not a lot to do in the neighborhood and it gets a little seedy if you wander too far in any direction.

The Parkview Hotel is owned by the same people as the Genessee Grand Hotel, also in Syracuse. I have stayed at both and quite frankly I like the Parkview more. You get a larger room (King vs. Queen) for less money. Also, things like a fridge for drinks or food. The Parkview does not have room service, though. However, they do have a very nice coffee bar in the lobby with anything you might want.
