"close to sights/shopping"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 5, 2012
We loved it - great location, staff and breakfast. Lovely, large second floor room.
"Nice Place"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 5, 2012
The Hotel was clean and comfortable. Wi-Fi was free in the lobby. It was a short walk from where the airport bus dropped us off and shopping/restaurants. Most of the tourist spots are a bit farther, but still very walkable.
"Good Value"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 5, 2012
The Ardmore is a clean, modern hotel that has power showers and staff that are friendly. The food served is well prepared and affordable. For the money it can't be beat, but if you want nice pillows, soft towels& cozy bedding then you should spend the extra money to get them. Those of us who prefer value over the little "extras" would love this hotel. The 15 minute bus ride into downtown wasn't bad unless you JUST missed the bus and have to wait another twenty minutes to get on. It is a great location for a first night into Dublin or your last because it is only 15 minutes to the airport!
"Close enough to everything, far enough for quiet"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 3, 2012
Very pleasant. We stayed directly in temple bar 3 nights before and wanted one night of quiet before we left. Receptionist was extremely helpful and even mailed a postcard for me so I wouldn't have to walk. Would stay again.

"Great!"
Lovely hotel. The location is great if you need to be close to the Financial District, but not as good if you're wanting to be close to the Dublin City hotspots (Temple Bar, O'Connell, Grafton). The walk is about 10-15 minutes and by cab (for those typical Dublin weather outbursts) is roughly 8 euro. Not too bad, really. It's a nice place to get a good […] night's sleep. The amenities in the hotel are good, the staff is helpful, and it's kept very clean and presentable. Not a lot of restaurants and pubs nearby, though, but the hotel restaurant and pub will do if you're really not looking to go too far out for food and drinks. As with most hotel restaurants and pubs, prices are steeper. Read more

"Excellent, clean hotel...with best swimming pool!"
Hotel was new, clean and conveniently located. Plus - if you're active - it has the best swimming pool (super warm)!! Only ate breakfast there but again, clean, lots of options. Would definitely recommend.

"4 Star? Hmmmm er NO."
Our main gripe about this hotel is that it really wasn't any different to a Premier Inn. Room was nice, very simple and nothing to shout about. Everything about the hotel was little different to a Premier Inn apart from the price. Nothing wrong with the hotel, but definitely not 4 star.
"Maldron Hotel & Leisure Club Cardiff Lane"
Facilities & service-wise, there is nothing to complain about. It is a comfortable hotel, clean, with full amenities, including ice machine, with free wifi in the room. Location-wise, it is quite far from the town centre, about 20 min walk or a 4.5 euro cabfare, so those intending to spend most of their time in town should consider staying somewhere […] nearer to the town centre (whether Temple Bar, Viking area). It is next to the Grand Canal Theatre & the docks / new business area, so if your business brings you to these venues, by all means, choose this hotel. Read more

"Id say 4.5 out of 5 over all"

"Remarkable Staff!"
The Maldron Cardiff Lane, could easily be reviewed as a nice-but-nothing-extraordinary, clean and efficient good-for-business hotel. However, the remarkable staff pushes the value of this hotel up a few notches. While you may feel the four-star-quality in the rooms and amenities, you will get five star service from the very charming and impeccable, […] primarily eastern-European staff. In a city like Dublin, known for generally shoddy, couldn't-care-less service - the great service here is a welcome blessing. Highly Recommended. Read more
"Away from bustle"
This hotel is a bit off the center of Dublin but close enough that most things you want to do are a 15 to 30 minute walk away.
"Nice Hotel - Filthy Leisure Club"
Hotel was great. Leisure Club was filthy.
"Standards Have Dropped"
I stayed at this Maldon several times in late 2009, and based on excellent experiences, I booked again when returning to Dublin for a short visit. This stay was very disappointing - primarily due to the poor upkeep of the Leisure Club and Spa. The staff is still friendly and the rooms clean and comfortable. However, the Leisure Cub and Spa, once immaculate, […] is now downright scummy - and seems to cater to an exceptionally trashy local element. The floor in the pool area, workout area, and locker room is filthy. There is visible mold in the showers. Lockers are dirty and reek of mildew. The pool (on more than one visit and attempt to get a lane) was filled with screaming, unsupervised minors. On one visit, I observed a parent bringing a diapered child into the water. The steam room is slimy and smells badly, and the sauna is barely functioning. Hopefully management will get it together and bring the standards of the Leisure Club and Spa back up to that of the hotel. Until then - avoid or pack some anti-fungal. Read more
"Maldron Hotel & Leisure Club"
This hotel was lovely. We went to see a concert and it's located so close to the 02. The staff were so friendly and I would highly recommend it to others. It was clean and spacious.
"Maldron Hotel in Dublin"
First rate hotel with very modern appearance. Many amenities including nice restaurant and separate bar; spa, concierge, etc. Location is above average; just below the River Liffey; it is a long walk to key "downtown" sites such as St. Patricks cathedral and Temple Bar area. I do recommend this hotel as pricing is also very reasonable.
"Great Place...."
Great place, lovely hotel especially the pool downstairs. Location lovely on the waterfront and nice not to be in the centre of Dublin.
"Maldron Hotel - Poor customer service"
Check in was great, nice friendly. The bath tub had not been cleaned and the sheets on one bed had not been changed, there was hair in the bath tub and on the sheets. Took over an hour to get someone to clean the tub and bring clean sheets. Phone did not work properly and we received attitude when we asked about it. The street had some construction […] going on, it was very noisy and it is very busy with many buses due to the the theatre across the street. It was very hot in the rooms and there is no air conditioning. There is a very good restaurant within walking distance of the hotel - Ely, good food, good prices. I will never use the Maldron again but will go back to Ely. Read more
"Great Room - Excellent Staff and Fitness Facilities"
This hotel is a real pleasure - impeccably clean and well serviced. The staff was helpful and always willing to accommodate - and the pool and fitness facilities are top-notch. Unfortunately, there are a few drawbacks for a hotel of this quality - you may have a bit of a wait for a taxi - as taxis don't seem to regularly line up outside. However the […] staff is eager to assist in phoning one for you. Also, the area is a bit undeveloped and dicey - but no doubt that will change with the opening of the new convention center across the river. And the wireless internet only allows you to download 50 megabytes of data - at which point it shuts down and you need approval from the provider to reconnect your service - which will take some time. This made doing business from the room somewhat difficult. Still on all other levels the hotel was exceptional. Read more
"Quiet location reasonably priced"
Nice hotel in a quiet location and next to Grand Canal Square which will be lovely when finished. Several restaurants in walking distance in the square and quite useful if you do not want the 15 - 20 minute walk to Temple Bar every night. Use the "Liffey Flyer" little yellow dinghy to go across to the otherside of the Liffey, great fun. Only complaint […] on the service of the hotel is that they did not replenish the teas and coffees in the room one day and when we phoned to ask for them, it took almost an hour to receive them. "Comfortable hotel in good position to the centre"
The hotel is about ten minutes walk along the river from Temple Bar so great position. At present close to redevelopment of the docklands area but this did not affect us and there was no noticeable noise. The hotel is clean and rooms are comfortable and spacious. The staff are efficient but could be a little friendlier. Only thing missing was air […] conditioning in the rooms but we were there on a really sunny weekend so probably not really necessary in general. Read more
"HOTEL MALDRON CARDIFF LANE DUBLIN"
The hotel provided good service and facilities, when the new bridge and other building work in the area are complete it will be in a very good area. By using the existing foot bridge and cutting through the old Dockland area north of the Liffey you can walk to the central bus station in a very short time. I will recommend the hotel to my friends.
"Business visit"
Regular visitor to hotel; standards as good as ever. However, several large tour parties spoilt this trip due to disruption they caused in restaurant.
"Good location if you don't have a car"
The hotel is near the central of Dublin easy access to the likes of Temple Bar. Parking was poor as there were no prior advise that this hotel does not provide parking facility and the nearest parking complex does not open 24 hours. The room was very hot as there were no air con in the room and once you open the window you can hear the worker’s machinery […] noise. The service was good but just been let down a bit by the points above. Read more
"Good"
The hotel itself was lovely. Staff were very nice and helpful and the rooms were very nice. The down side was that its location is not centeral as stated. It was a 25 min to o'conall st. And the hotel charge you 5euro to hire a swimming hat so that you can use the pool. We found this a little unfare as it wasnt a cheap hotel.
"Popular hotel"
The hotel was in a good location with a 15 minute walk to Temple Bar and close to o2.
"Great location"
Used hotel for u2 in croke park. 10 minutes from o connell street. Only 40 minute walk from croker. Breakfast was good value at 10 euro. We got an early check-in at 11 am smoking room but room was fresh and airy. Hotel staff were friendly. Will recommend
"Pleasant stay"
A little further out of the city than we anticipated but buses were good and not too far to walk if able. A lot of development going on in the area. Will look good when finished. Good restaurants nearby in Grand Canal Square but a lack of places for breakfast if not using the hotel dining room.
"good impression"
it was a pleasant stay, very good and clean atmosphere, friendly staffs but room for improvement, break fast menu choice are limited especially fruites (N/A), prefer semi-skimmed milk (only full creamed milk available). As a whole very pleasant stay and I recommend to any one. I will come back again next year.
"Last Minute Trip into Dublin"
We were two relatively young (28yo) travellers circling around Europe...stayed at this new, modern hotel...very impressed with the concierges and the rest of the staff...food + drink a bit pricey but what can you expect nowadays in great hotels..room very quiet, and beds comfortable..construction around area was a drag but that shouldnt last forever...totally […] recommend Read more

"Comfortable Hotel--20 minutes from the action"
This hotel is near the new convention center/business area, and about 20 minutes' walk to O'Connell Street/Trinity College. Everything is excellent at this hotel except the breakfast, which included watery powdered eggs, cold sausage, and white bread one had to toast oneself--all at twice the price of a delicious Irish breakfast in most restaurants. […] Still, a wonderfully comfortable hotel. Read more
"Great Location"
The Maldron Hotel is within easy walking distance of both the O2 (about 25 mins) and into the city centre (20 mins). Staff very pleasant and happy to help. The facilities at the hotel were first class and I would book the Maldron Hotel should I be in Dublin again.
"enjoyed my stay"
we stayed here because of its location to the O2. Its a lovely hotel. we had dinner one of the evenings in the bar in the hotel- nice food. found it a bit unusual that there was no small refridgerator in the room, but besides that the room was well kept.
"OK very can be better"
The hotel is modern, located in a renovated part of town; the facilities are well-kept and generally clean but the personel is not very friendly or very professional --there are lots of room for improvement in these areas.
"Excellent location to O2 and Bord Gais Centre"
The location was excellent for O2 and Bord Gais Energy Centre Theatre. Rooms clean and spacious. Hotel staff good. We were a bit disappointed with the Vertigo bar after the show. Crowded, not enough seating, very modern decor but cold not cosy ambience. Bar staff need more training. Music in bar very irritating.
"top class"
close to theatre
My stay at the Maldron was excellent. The staff were very helpful and kind. The room was very clean and comfortable. The food at this hotel was excellent and i will recomend any body to come and stay at this hotel.

"overnight to attend Grand Canal Theatre"
Treated two relations in their 80's to a overnight in the Maldron and was delighted at the response of the staff who were very helpfull especially a man called Martin I think he was a security person He offered the ladies help and carried both their overnight bags to the bed room and next morning he enquired how they had got on the night before at a […] musical in the Bord Gas Theatre. These little gestures mean a lot and make a huge differance to the outcome of any stay anywhere. I have already recomended this hotel to family and friends. Read more

"Maldron Hotel Cardiff Lane Dublin"
Absolutely fantastic location as it's across the road from the Bord Gais Energy Theatre (formerly known as the Grand Canal Theatre). The staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was delicious. Next time I'm up for a show I'm definitely staying here again, couldn't fault the hotel at all.
