"Near to park and metropolitan office building"
Good bus shuttle service and 5mins drive to city. Near the park and metropolitan tower for free city viewing. Bus shuttle service should have longer duration till 1130pm. Room is clean and spacious but lack of proper wardrobe and limited free tv station.Genuine Expedia guest review
A good value tokyo option 10 minutes walk from Shinjuku station. Has resturants, convenience stores and the new york bar all within a minutes walk.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Nice hotel with good breakfast. Convenient shuttle bus to Shinjuku station, however it doesn't run between 11 & 3. Twin room was spacious compared to other hotels.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Pleasant Hotel,in Shinjuku."
The hotel is quite well run,and the breakfast buffet was not bad.The advantage staying here is the shuttle bus service to Shinjuku station and back.Overall it is a good hotel with pleasant staffs, especially the housekeeping on the cleanliness of the room is excellent. I wish that the bed for two should be bigger for two,and the check out time a little […] later. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"A pretty good choice"
The location is great. 10 minute walk to Shinjuku station, or 5 minutes by free hotel shuttle. The park out front is lovely and peaceful. The hotel itself is in no way fancy, but it's good enough for the price.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Good price. Room decent."
Only hotel out of 5 in Japan I been to had someone who could speak English. About 10-15 Min walk to shinjuku station but the free shuttle is very good.but will be better if shuttle bus finishes later say 11 or 12 at night. Room is clean and standard.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Probably the worst experience I have in Japan"
The hotel looks out of date. I have booked two non-smoking single rooms for myself and my friend. When I arrived, the staff told us, we have been upgrade to bigger rooms. As I walked into my room, the room was obviously a smoking room. I went to reception to tell them that I have booked non-smoking rooms and showed the guy my Expedia booking, he told […] me it is written there that it is a request (I think he tried to say they don't necessary have to oblige it). He told me they have gave us a better rooms than the rooms I booked, despite why do I need two single beds in my room just for myself. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Walking distance to important sites"
My stay was wonderful. The staff were extremely polite and helpful. The breakfast was fantastic. My son and I would want to stay at Shinjuku New City Hotel next time we are in Tokyo.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Excellent Affordable Hotel"
I stayed at this Hotel 3 times within two weeks and each time the room was perfect. The Staff were very helpful.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Second time back"
It's close, well priced, good breakfast, shuttle works well, lovely park and food close by. A great place to stay in Tokyo.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The best part of this hotel is the free shuttle to Shinjuku Station. Its most welcoming for weary legs. We had booked the semi double room. While the room is spacious enough, the bed is a tight fit for 2 adults. The Tokyo Metropolitan building is a short walk away and the night view from the 45th floor is simply a must see!Genuine Expedia guest review
"Relatively inexpensive hotel"
We stayed 4 nights. 12th-floor room was comfortable and larger than some in Tokyo, with tiny bathroom with good shower. It was stuffy despite cool outside air, but we could open the window to let in fresh air. Everything worked.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Great hotel to stay at Shinjuku"
This is a small hotel situated in the busy Shinjuku city. Small hotel but equipped with full facility. I had a pleasant stay in this hotel for 5 nights. Bathroom was clean and equipped with Shiseido toiletries. A very good hotel experience in Tokyo!Genuine Expedia guest review
"Nice hotel which is near an important transport hu"
Had a very helpful staff member go out of his way to help resolve a problem for me (unrelated to the hotel).Genuine Expedia guest review
"A great hotel"
We arrived to japan from London and found the hotel really fast using the trains and then a short walk It was a great location and only a 7 minute walk from the main station The staff were really helpful and provided free wifiGenuine Hotels.com guest review
An enjoyable stay at the New City Hotel! The shuttle bus service was very good and staff always friendly.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
stayed 4 nights in December. Good location in Shinjuku. Walking distance from Shinjuku train station. Free shuttle bus to/from train station ran every 30minutes but we just chose to walk. Clean room. Good breakfast for both western and oriental tastes. Nice restaurants and 7eleven convenient store nearby. Washing machines available. Staff were very […] helpful and courteous. It would be better if they arrange sightseeing tours. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Check in time is too late (3pm) whereas check out time is way too early (10am). Staff are pretty friendly, but definitely need more English speaking staff around. Free shuttle bus to and fro Shinjuku station: efficient and on time. Only thing is there is a break in between 10am-2pm. WiFi connection: free, fast and reliable. Convenient location. Family […] mart; 5 mins walk. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"good hotel, but a bit far from station"
Hotel is far from station, but there is a shuttle bus available.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great For Family Bonding!"
Good for Tokyo standards. Moving around wasn't a hassle. Free Shuttle bus service from hotel into the heart of Shinjuku was a great addition for our family of 4!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Don't recommend to anybody. I don't understand how this hotel got a score of 3.9. Dirty, old, not welcoming etc etc... All negatives!!! EwwwwGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Free shuttle bus provided by the hotel to Shinjuku station is excellent. Staff at the reception is able to communicate in English well which is really a plus point.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Even though its an overnight stay before we moved to our next destination, the service was great. The transport provided at the Shinjuku station was really helpful in saving us the trouble of lugging our luggages to the hotel.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Very Good Service"
Bus shuttle to and from the metro station is very helpful.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Shuttle bus. Decent rooms, nice view."
Given a room facing the park, very nice view on higher floors. Shuttle bus makes the location seemed near the train station. Room is not too small.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Nice hotel 20 min walk from Tokyo Railway station"
Very helpful staff. let us leave our bags there while we travelled to KyotoGenuine Expedia guest review
Didn't get dropped off right at the Hotel so Appreciated the well lit up sign. ?whether they are doing it up, it's not all that nice inside - needs updating. Staff were very good. Breakfast included had a good range of food to choose from. Room was clean & comfortable beds.Genuine Expedia guest review
This chain of hotels is good. Not great, good. They have good standards and good facilities. Good wifi, good breakfast, good locations, good staff. Like a lot of hotels in Tokyo the smoking area is in reception and so you are greeted with a smell of smoke, and breakfast is served in this area too but that is the way in many hotels in Tokyo. If this […] is the area you want to be - close to Nihombashi for the airport train and close to Tsukiji for the wet market, then I would not put you off booking as it is probably the best value (economical to quality) in the area. "Hotel accomdation and resturant"
I was surprised it required me to make the payment immediately when i checked in the hotel, we need to carry our own luggage to the hotel.Genuine Expedia guest review
This hotel was a good find. We had 2 park view rooms on the 6th floor. Was great to look at trees and an opening window with access to fresh air a bonus. Beds were okay, pillows flat but that's japan. Shuttle bus fantastic. But last morning shuttle is 10.30am then a break until 3pm so no sleep-in's. Family Mart 1 minute walk to the right of hotel. Big […] 24hour supermarket 5-10minutes walk to the left and then cross to the right at the traffic lights. Government buildings across the park have observation level for free. Caught the Limo airport bus to and from the Hyatt Regency Shinjuku across the park 10 minute walk to/from hotel through park. If travelling with kids, in the park opposite big play area in the corner of park on next block to the right of hotel. Age range toddler to pre-teen. Other features of park is big bitumen meeting area near waterfall with entertainment on weekends. As for rooms they were nothing flash, reminded me of 80's style hotel room. A bit dated, but location wins and rooms were clean. This hotel seemed to have alot of large tour groups and athletic clubs staying. Saw a wide range of age groups staying, could hear people walking around above and next door. So rooms are not as soundproofed as modern big hotel chains. This is a dated building. But you are in a big city, with big city noise. Advantages outway the dis-advantages from my point of view. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
Reasonably close to the Shinjuku station. Has an old hotel vibe though everything was acceptable and there was nothing to complain about. Staff were efficient and helpful, as we experienced everywhere in Japan. The free station shuttle pick up/drop was very useful.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Overall a good experience at New city hotel. It's a busy hotel with manny international guests. The staff at reception were very pleasant and helpful. The room I stayed in was clean and had everything you need for a comftable stay. The only drawback is that the bathroom was a bit on the small size but that's Japan for you.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Nice base of operations, walking distance to Shinjuku station.Genuine Expedia guest review
"amazing new city"
Pleasant staff - helpful. Aircon in the room felt a bit weak at times. shuttle bus to shinjuku st made a huge difference. definitely a repeat customerGenuine Expedia guest review
"Great hotel for the price. Compact but adequate"
Nice hotel and staff could not have been more helpful. Room itself is compact but certainly is adequate. Location fine with pleasant park outside the hotel which we overlooked. Hotel bus service every 20 mins to Shinjuku station, though its easy enough to walk in 20 mins or so. Staff very helpful.Genuine Expedia guest review
Nice hotel, and the staff were quite friendly even though they spoke little English. The best feature of this hotel would definitely be the shuttle bus to Shinjuku Station as it can be quite a walk after a while, especially in the heat.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Cosy & convenient place to stay - value for money"
The check-in and check-out process was quick and hassle-free - plenty of staff at the front desk on the ready, and there were no problems with communicating with them; the rooms were small (which is the standard in Japan) but everything you need is available, and the amenities were plentiful; room was always very clean, safe and secure; free shuttle […] bus between hotel and Shinjinku station was a bonus but fills up very quickly; plenty of shops by the hotel for to pick up convenience items for your room, and any real shopping can be done in the main Shinjinku district. Hotel was great value for money Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Shinjuku New City Hotel is "just" a middle class hotel in superb location. Placed a few hundred meters form Metropolitan Goverment Building (with subway station, Tourist Information Center (with free guides booked by internet) and free observation floors), a few minutes walk form Japan Railway Shinjuku station (the world's busiest passenger station) […] and Keio Bus station. That means you can start almost every journey inside or outside Tokyo in a few minutes. A lot of shops (including electronic stuff stores), bars, etc. in the station area. What about hotel? Friendly staff with good/acceptable english skills, clean rooms with air conditioning (the rooms were cleaned every day) , bathroom with not-much-complicated toilet ;), comfy beds, japanese/western style breakfast for resonable price, free shuttle bus from station to hotel. For me Shinjuku New City Hotel was a perfect choice for my 2 week stay in Tokyo. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great budget accommodation"
Very well priced hotel, fairly good location especially if you take advantage of the free shuttles to the train station. Rooms fairly small but not uncomfortable, everything seemed to work well. Would recommend for anyone wanting to stay in the Shinjuku area and not wanting to spend a fortune.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Perfectly acceptable hotel for a family."
Perfectly good hotel in walking distance of Shinjuku. Rooms were e small but we didn't spend much time in them. Breakfast was busy but good. Wouldn't recommend it if you needed to spend a lot of time in the hotel.Genuine Expedia guest review

"adequate hotel for the average travellers"
Pros: great location in West Shinjuku area, next to Hyatt and the Metropolitan Govt Bldg. Walking distance to Shinjuku station and shops = great choices of restaurants and shops. Room bigger than lots of other Japanese hotels. Breakfast very decent and inexpensive (after a 30% hotel discount). Staff all speak great English and are more than prepared […] to help. Cons: nothing flash. Air-con not working properly. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"My first visit to Tokyo"
We had a nice experience in the hotel. It was across a nice park and for the price, it was not a bad deal. Although there is a free shuttle from the hotel to Shinjuku, but the schedule was quite limited. They don't have a late morning / noon service and the last trip going back to the hotel is also quite early. We also requested for two non-smoking […] rooms on my booking with Expedia and at the same time reminded the front desk to give us non-smoking, but we were given smoking rooms and we were not informed properly. We were quite tired already so we decided to stay in the rooms given to us. But it was an ordeal for us since I have a son who is asthmatic and had to open the window at night to let the smell of cigarettes out. The cleaning ladies were efficient in making the rooms tidy. The size of the room is big enough for Tokyo standards. If I go back to Tokyo, I will still stay in this hotel but I have to make sure that I get a non-smoking room. "firs time to tokyo"
new city hotel, i would say is a cheap hotel, but if you are looking for clean, daily necessity prepared this hotel is good enough! the only down side is this hotel is far from shopping areas and the subway/JR is about a 10 mins good walk, alternative they provide free shuttle service. Since you are going tokyo I would suggest paying slightly more to […] stay somewhere more accessible will be more worth it. Lastly it is a old hotel, but they did maintenance well. : ) Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Pleasant but not exceptional"
Helpful staff, small rooms as per Tokyo norm. No real faults just not outstanding. Shuttle bus was welcome as the walk to Shinjuku becomes tiring once done a few times.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Brilliant location and great value accommodation"
My husband and I stayed in January 2013 for 9 nights and paid just under £550 for a Semi-Double. The Shinjuku New City Hotel was excellently positioned and exactly what we wanted. The lobby had a well staffed reception desk and a free luggage scale. The room was large enough for us to open a very large suitcase and keep both it and our smaller suitcase […] stored out of the way. It was very quiet with the window closed, not too noisy with it open, and the drapes effectively blocked the light. A hair dryer, fridge, kettle and hotplate were provided. The bed was comfortable and just wide enough to not feel cramped. The bathroom was small and compact, with the usual amenities provided. The bath was not very long, but the depth allowed a comfortable soak, and the shower had reasonable water pressure. There is a mediocre Chinese restaurant next door, Dominos delivers to the room and a Convenience store a few doors down. Shinjuku Station is a leisurely 20 minute walk away, or 5 minutes by the free shuttle bus. The Station is surrounded by a many shops and restaurants. The Narita Express and several metro and train lines allow access to most of the city. Shinjuku Central Park and the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Offices (with a wonderful free 45th floor view) are very close. Shinjuku Gyoen National Garden is not too far, and was well worth the 200 yen entrance fee to wander in. I suspect our Winter visit showed the Garden at its dullest, but it was still very peaceful and beautiful. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
