The Concierge was excellent! Housekeeping was interesting sometimes short towels,other times other items were missing, could have been a bit cleaner but overall was a very comfortable place -not quite the view I expected since it shows a view overlooking the Thames on Hotel.com web site - not at this hotel!

This hotel is a wonderfully decorated, clean, spacious room. The location is right off the river but a little (15-20 walk) out of the way from London Eye and Big Bend. Cosy rooms, very friendly and cooperative stuff. Good restaraunt. The only inconvinience - it takes some time around 15 min to get the nearest underground station. When weather is bad it can make you be upset. But when it.s shining it's going the big plus, because surroundings are beautiful.

Overall, the hotel was okay. The lobby and entry portion of the hotel are very nice, clean, well-kept. When I arrived, the doormen and the front-desk manager and personnel were friendly and helpful. The entry hall was narrower than most, so I felt like I really had […] to squeeze myself and my luggage through the entrway; similarly the waiter when he came in with a room service tray... it was so narrow, I could barely hold the door open for him while he tried to enter the room. But more to the point was that it felt to me like the staff were not very well trained at all. A small poster in the elevator advertised a daily tea in the hotel restaurant. I called the front desk to ask about it and whomever was there at the time had NO idea what I was talking about. She didn't know about the tea, she didn't seem to understand what I was asking, and she continuously asked me if I wanted to "order tea in my room." Not what I was asking. This kind of disconnect happened several times with several different hotel personnel interactions. I would rate the hotel as just okay, given that I believe service should NEVER be skimped on, and when it is, I attribute this to poor management, as it is their responsibility to hire and provide adequate training to their employees. Beautiful hotel in a great location on the Thames River. We had an interior room with no view, but for a price you can have a view. The only problem is that the tv had a line down the middle, but we were so busy sight-seeing that we didn't have a chance to ask them to fix it.

Traveled from the US and Stayed 3 nights, 2 rooms. Very clean, modern, very nice hotel and a good rate with Expedia. We are quite fussy with hotel quality and you can rest assured this one is very nice and comparable, if not better than most 4 star City hotels you'll find State side. Hotel is a 15 min stroll to Westminster underground station & Big […] Ben, 10 mins to London Eye, all of which are easily accessed with a nice walk along Albert Embankment. Room service food was very good & reasonably priced for London. Don't be affraid to book this hotel, it really is well worth the rate and for those who don't like the 15 min stroll to Westminster Underground can take a cab there for $6.00, and we found that a Cab ride into most major tourist sites from this hotel was generally £10.00 or so, (to the Palace, the Abbey, Trafalgar Square etc.) In fact we never paid more than £12.00 to cab ride anywhere, but mostly enjoyed the river stroll to Westminster Underground anyway, where a £7.00 Underground day pass takes you anywhere. This hotel sits right on the south side of the Thames with views to Westminster in a slightly quieter location than some comparable hotels and therefore avoids some of the hustle & bustle madness of the tourist routes. We loved this hotel! We had a good view of the Thames and Big Ben. The staff was great, although we paid for a room that included breakfast and they had no record of it. If it weren't for this hotel, we would have probably been on the first flight out of London. The service was impeccable, they gave us a prompt wake-up call, had our taxi waiting for us early in the morning for our departure, and the room was spotless. On our last morning, the fire alarm was sounded around 10am and the entire building was evacuated for over an hour. The staff was excellent and made the inconvenience much easier than it could have been. Free breakfast at Chino Latino was a nice touch.

Most awful hotel I have stayed with the most incompetent staff ever. Check in, we upgrade you to an Executive Room - I ordered and payed for one. First night 2 Fire alam past 11 PM both no fire but 10 flights of stairs barefoot in sleepwear keep in the freezing/raining cold for over an hour. Hotel no coment. I have given other Park Plaza hotels in this group good ratings in the past. However, this particular stay had a couple of issues, which made it unpleasant. Firstly, I noticed that the door to the room would not click shut. I had been there a whole night before realizing this. It seems to me that security, management or housekeeping should have been […] aware of this. Safety and security ought to be paramount. They attempted to fix it and it appeared to work for a while, but it soon became inoperable. By the time they offered a room change I had only one night left. Secondly, the air conditioning system would not work unless I was present in the room, and even then, was ineffective. This meant that when i was out, the room was baking hot. They suggested opening a window, and did provide a small, ineffective desk fan. However, as the room overlooked some railway tracks, the rattle of trains going past every 10 minutes was unpleasant and did not make for a peaceful night's sleep. The hotel's management needs to ensure that all of the rooms are in a secure and habitable condition before offering them out to guests. Read more
