Service with check-in and check-out is bad... People at Registration Desk are not friendly. I signed paper by their request that I will be responsible for lost or damaged items in the rooms. When I check-out I told to the Service people by the Registration Desk to go to the rooms and check if everything is OK, but they refuse to do so.... I also discover […] additional big charges on my credit cards. I call to the Service Desk to have explanations. They refuse to talk with me and hang up the phone. We were on a trip with friends down the California coast and we were so glad we stayed at the Madonna Inn. The staff was so friendly and kind and we throughly enjoyed the hotel. Definitely a fun place to stay, good for those who are looking for something a little out of the ordinary.

First of all let me state that the young lady at the desk was great on checking in. When we arrived at our room#206 We had to make our way around the people filming some sort of documentry light boxes in the narrow hallway cords and such to get in our themed room. It had a old water fountain in it that did not function properly the pump was louder than […] the water trickling in . The roof on what was suppoe to be a house of sorts had more dust on it than highway 101. The rocks along the head board of the beds appeared dirty. I felt like motel 6 would have been a better choice for my other half 60th birthday. Visited this place while on a drive up the coast, rediscovering central california. A monument to kitsch with hints of Gaudi and Disney. Still, somehow it works. Friendly staff, huge rooms, nice pool.

We loved this place. It was the most fantastic kind of tacky luxury. The pool area is amazing with its view and the waterfall. The cafe was also pretty good and the chocolate bar had very good sweets. We will definitely be returning.

I know it's the Madonna Inn. Room was beautiful. I'm used to a fridge, microwave, bath tub, coffee etc. and the room was all show. Bed was comfy just would have liked a few extras for the money. The restaurant was very expensive but don't let that deter you. My lamb was amazing. Worth paying for. Make sure to hike over to the lake.

Rooms are themed and have fun being over the top. We stayed in the Indian Room. It may be worth it to go directly to the hotel for reservations as you will be able to work with someone directly who can help you select the best room theme for your group and occation.

I've wanted to visit for 30 years. Was terribly disappointed that the Inn is "tired." It needs some serious renovations. How a 50s room could not include posters of Elvis, others and be more than just pink and aqua. The food in the main dining room was terrible and no effort was made to offer something other than the chewy, dry pork steak other than […] to give us free cake for dessert. Within 5 minutes of arriving at our room, an attendant stopped by to give us a bottle of champagne to help us celebrate. The españa room was nice, dark wood ceiling, exposed brick walls, 2 bedrooms, sweet bathroom with a heated toilet seat. The bed and pillows were very stiff and uncomfortable. My only major complaint was the noise... we enjoyed our stay at Madonna Inn. The room was clean and service was good. It's hokey but fun and clean. Think disneyland. The location is very near Cal Poly as we stayed here while getting our son settled in school. The pool and area was clean and inviting with a great view.

We stopped here on a 4th grade field trip to SAcramento and my fourth grader was all about coming up here to stay during the summer. We thought it would be fun, so we booked a room. We had asked for a room with two beds and were sent to one with only one, but the hotel staff was very accommodating in changing us quickly to a two bed room. We stayed […] in the Victorian Room, and even though it was a bit worn, the accommodations were clean and comfortable. We ate in the coffee shop and you can order off of the dining room menu in the coffee shop, but not vice versa. My husband had a great steak and I had the veggie plate, which was very tasty. Dinner was served with some crudites that were very filling and delicious fresh-baked bread. Great service and great food and we ate here for breakfast, too! (Try the breakfast sundae! yummy!) The pool and spa were very refreshing and there is a huge waterfall that roars for about 15 minutes on the hour. Overall, the hotel is a bit cheesy, but filled with history of the area. We are looking forward to booking a larger room when we come for graduations from Cal Poly in a couple of years! Read more

The food was both overpriced and inferior. There was an inexplicable resort fee added to our prepaid bill. The shower wasn't great, internet connection slow and ethernet cable broken. Service staff was hopelessly undertrained and emptily cheery. Way overpriced.

The Madonna Inn is an excellent hotel. It is a bit pricey to stay there, but if you want a unique experience and don't mind spending extra, then this is hotel for you. Every room has a specific them. The restaurant is very good. My husband and I had steak dinners. Again, it's a bit pricey, but the food was good and plentiful. I would definitelys stay there again. One word of caution, however. If you have a disability or have difficulty with mobility, make sure you let them know so that they can reserve a ground level room for you. There are no elevators. Our room was on the second level so we had to go up two flights of spiral stairs to get to our room. There was also a way to drive around to the back of the building and walk across a bridge and then go down one flight of stairs, which was easier for me, but having a ground floor room would have been best.
