This is a resort for just relaxing away from the hustle and bustle. The closest major town, Hua Hin is about 40 mins away by car. Locally there is a traditional Thai night market geared to locals rather than tourists. If you want to explore the locality there are bicyles and small bikes to rent. The signage to the resort was practically non-existent and we had a hard time finding it. The woman on the phone talked us in efficiently, and once we arrived we were graciously received and carted to our room. The resort is a huge complex of structures on a massive tract of beach property. I understand that everything is made of sustainable materials, […] such as bamboo and mulberry wood. The grounds are wonderfully maintained and it is a delight to wander them at any time of day.The rooms are designed in a rustic island style which is comfortable but less than luxurious, and many finish items such as toilets and shower heads are overdue for replacement. High season and New Year's weekend mean full occupancy -- extremely busy. Unfortunately, the staff is either inexperienced, or incorrectly trained and managed, so the level of service was often disappointing. Breakfast was excellent, once you find a table, and other than the omelet station (which was great) it's all self service so no waiting. This was my second visit to this resort. The first time being 6 years ago. We like the pool villas because once the room has been serviced for the day, you can lock the door and be in your own little vacuum that lends to a very relaxing atmosphere. The fact that you have your own pool is magic. The outdoor bath tub is devine as are the outdoor showers. […] You can be at one with nature while still having all the comforts just a few feet away. There is a personal butler that is asigned to you on check in and if you require anything, all you need is to pick up the phone. I feel that while it may be a bit pricy when compared to the regular standard rooms, the cost doesn't enter into the picture when you consider there isn't another place in the world that provides the experience that you get with this package. The staff, while not usually part of the experience, is so here. They are very happy to be employed there and it shows. We didn't find one employee that wasn't smiling and these were genuine smiles, not pasted on ones. All in all, we will return and hopefully it won't be so long between visits. Read more

We enjoyed our stay here so much we extended it whilst we were there for another 4 days. Our villa was beautiful with its own private pool and sunken sala. I strongly recommend booking one on the Six Senses side of the resort as these were much bigger and more private than the Evason pool villas. I loved the decor of the room but be aware of slipping […] on the floor following a shower or coming in from the pool. We had very little reason to leave our villa and in fact only ate out twice in the evening of our 9 night stay. The staff are incredibly friendly and professional. The food is excellent and I loved the bikes that you could hire for free to get around. There isn't much locally to the hotel but take a bike ride down the coast its nice for photo opportunities. I went to this hotel in December 2012 with my girlfriend and I loved everything about this hotel since my first step there. The environment was incredibly good. They have a lot of amenities, such as, archery, kids zone, thai boxing, etc. I can guarantee that you will never get bored at this hotel. The food was amazing! The most peaceful and beautifully made Spa resort I've ever been to... The moment you set foot here, you know you'll return completely relaxed. Superb location by the sea and away from all the hustle-bustle, nicely appoointed rooms, great campus, excellent food and cocktails, sensational spa, good service... The only negative in my opinion was the swimming pool flooring. Almost everyone in our party of 8 carried several bruises on the knee […] and on the underside of the foot due to the abrassive flooring and similar walls.
