"LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 5, 2012
This little hotel has location, location, location! It is less than 5-10 minutes walking distance to the Spanish Steps, Trevi Fountain, Pantheon, Piazza Navona, & Tempolo Adriano. It is about 15-20 minutes from the Coliseum, the Forum, and Vittoria Emmanuelle, around 25-30 minutes from Piazza del Popolo, and a half hour from the Vatican. Seconds away from the main artery Via Del Corso, you can’t get a better location for a more reasonable price. The front desk staff is wonderful and Tomosso in particular will not hesitate to recommend the best restaurants and tell you how to get to all the sites within Rome. He recommended fabulous restaurants and mapped out a walkable itinerary of sites daily for us. If you don’t care to walk, the hop on hop off bus is two minutes away. What really sets this hotel apart is the 5th floor outside deck with a panoramic view which is used for breakfast in the morning and a possible night cap at night. What a way to start and end a day. It was beyond gorgeous and really a delightful highlight to a memorable stay in Rome. The rooms are big enough to accommodate two easily and are clean and neat. The only difficulty I encountered was that I was unable to connect to Wi-Fi but instead used the downstairs computer. Some of the rooms on the upper floors are only accessible by a short stairway which is difficult with heavy luggage. Other than that, our stay was perfect and I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel.

Excellent, convenience to airport was essential.

We did not get information that payment by card was not accepted. The breakfast was poor, bread from yesterday, cerials too sweet. The juice was more like lemonade than fruit-juice.
"Would stay there again"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 5, 2012
Had a great experience. Our triple room was clean and bed very comfortable, including pillows. 40 inch hd tv with all the sky channels with the options to switch to English language. Filled a form with time and choices for breakfast . Arrived on time and plenty of food. ( Italian style breakfast) . Front desk nice and helpful. Near American embassy, hard rock cafe' , villa borghese park( very nice!) . Would stay there again and reccomand it to friends and family

Room was so small that we could barely walk around the bed and there were no drawers in which to put clothes. The buffet breakfast, however, was outstanding and the location very convenient. Front desk staff could be friendlier. The room was much smaller than the photo for that level of accommodation

"It's not a hotel, it's a hostel ."
Forget about services. Air conditioning not working, poor breakfast, no fresh towels and change of bed sheets. Be careful and don't trust the staff . Everything is fake. Even you have to pay additional hidden fees....If you are only looking for a shelter is ok for one night, but nothing more. Not a bad location for Rome.
"Residence Aurelia Antica in Rome near Vatican"
This is an order building that was once a residence of small apartment. It is very convient to the Vacatin and bus line. We rented one of the apartment, while some in our group had reserved rooms. All but one couple in our group were given apartments because the had run out of rooms, but weren't charged any more. We found them to be sufficent for our […] needs, but were disapointed that none of the apartments had any utensil, glasses or plates in them. Also the hot water pressure was almost non existent at times with only a smal trickle of water coming out. We also were informed on the night before check out that we had to pay the new city tax before leaving. This was never mentioned on line during the resevation process or when we checked into the hotel. It was a small amount, but annoying since it was not mentioned until then. The price was fantasic. We compared it to other hotels in the immediate area, and it was less than half of what they were charging. They also called a local restaurant for us. They restaurant sent vans to pick us up and bring us back to the hotel more than 3 1/2 hours later. Italian dinners go on forever the amount of food in way more than most of us good every consume. "Family gem for ease of Vatican Tour/surroundings"
We were initially surprised by the hotel b/c it was an apartment building w/permanent residents that also doubled as a hotel. We were pleasantly greeted and the hotel front desk clerk arranged for us to get picked up for dinner. We were AMAZED by the price, quality and full experience of the dinner. It was a local place, w/local prices and amazing. […] There was no pickup fee. The front desk helped us find the bus stop (about a 3 minute walk) and the bus ride was about 10 minutes and we were dropped off at the Vatican. The bus dropped us back in front of our hotel and again, the front desk arranged for us to be picked up for dinner. All in all, the hotel was clean, basic, but very affordable and the convenience of getting to restaurants and the Vatican made this place a choice find. Parking was secure and plentiful. Read more

"Aurelia Antica, ok if you want to sleep only"
The hotel reports fascilities such as pool and tennis court. The pool is open July to Sept, why can't this be detailed on their site or in the overview it's not as if it is not known in advance. The tennis court requires you have your own rackets, who brings tennis rackets and again this should be avaiable in the overview. Traveled witha teenager so […] the pool and tennis were meant to be a break from being a tourist in a fantastic city. The hotel is clean and public transport drops you near to the Vatican (15 minute bus ride), after that you can walk everywhere, if up for it. If you are looking to park you bags and just sleep there the hotel is fine (although you can hear your neighbours very easliy). Reasonably priced for Rome, just don't expect anything more than a basic hotel. Read more

"Residencia Aurelia Antica uden aircon og pool"
Aircondition virkede ikke og den lovede pool på hotellet var ikke åben for adgang selv om det var midt på sommeren.
"Residence Antica there is no swimming pool !"
Sadly this hotel is a sorrow, there is no swimming pool at all even it was a must in orden to book it. The whole decoratiom, the carpets very old, trashy, the staff could not answer for anything because they "were waiting for the manager, who does not work saturday and sundays" (?). We knew that breakfast was not include but we were informed about a […] dispenser:no sandwichs only sweet stuff. The window shields were broken so we had a bunch of mosquitos duirng the night, almost imposible to sleep , a nightmare! Read more
"Uima-altaalleko?"
Varasimme Rooman keskustasta hieman kaukaisemman hotellin juuri uima-altaan takia. "Residence Aurelia Antica"
Quiet neighborhood, decent rooms, bus stop at 100m, metro station at 10-15 mins walk (4 bus stops), clean rooms, old furniture. Breakfast a little too expensive for what it offered, I would not recommend it. Overall a pleasant stay and a good value for the money. If chance will occur, I will consider returning to this hotel.

Read more

Satisfaction globale , bonne situation au calme avec un arrêt d'autobus très proche. Les volets roulants de notre chambre fonctionnaient très mal.
