This is a great hotel. The grounds are fabulous. The rooms are a little dated, but still nice with a great view. The staff was great and very helpful. We will definitely stay again.

I stayed at the Roc Illetas Playa for 2 nights in a single room. My room was pretty small, but since it included breakfast and dinner it turned out to be a great deal. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and the hotel overall was in pristine condition. It is not in the hustle and bustle of Palma, and is very secluded and quiet, but beautiful beaches […] and cliffs within a stones throw from the hotel. It is about a 35 euro cab ride from the airport, or you can take the 1 and 3 buses for 4 euro total (takes about 20 mins vs. 1 hour though). I would definitely recommend this hotel to others. Since its our first time in Mallorca, finding the hotel was a bit difficult. After a turn from the main road, a series of single winding one way road leading to the hotel lead us there. Great balcony with ocean front and view. The 2 twin mattress bed is terrible. Very hard. Water pressure in the shower is great except that the hot water broke. That is bad. The location of the hotel is on the cliff edge with great waterfront views and snack bar. If you leave the hotel via the beach walk, there is small beach with plenty of restaurant to visit. The hotel was what I expected given the usefulness of the reviews I read. It was clean, bright and spacious. The apartment was a two bedroom, two bath with a full kitchen. It could have used some healthier options. The outdoor pool was freezing which was a disappointment as that was important to us, so we went to the beach instead. This hotel does not live up to the four star rating it touts. We stayed in the deluxe sea-side view room and were appalled by not only the lack of amenities but also by the lack of cleanliness in the room. It was literally a bed, bathroom, and a balcony.... The furniture was approximately 20 years old and well-worn. No iron, coffee maker, or even an […] alarm clock were in the room. The TV was 14". The telephone was a standard phone and to call the hotel operator, you had to read the binder in the room to find the number. To borrow an iron requires a 20 Euro deposit and the hotel does not have an ironing board (receptionist told me to iron on the bed). We found 6"x4" of mold under the soap dish holder in the bathtub and the vents were caked with dust. Housekeeping did not refill the soap dispensers during our 3-night stay. There is no room service nor bellhop. There are no jetted tubs in the rooms as advertised. The hot water in the shower constantly fluctuated between searing hot and ice-cold. The indoor pool is not heated. We were woken up every morning at 8am by housekeepers dragging carts down the stairs. Things that were good at the hotel: Location on the bus route (stops at entrance of the hotel), friendliness of most of the desk staff, and the buffet breakfast and dinners were VERY well done. Also, the flamenco dancers during the evening show were very entertaining. Overall, this looks like it was a magnificent hotel about 20-30 years ago but it has not been updated in a very long time. If you are looking for a cheap place that is quiet with a great view on a bus line you will be happy. If you are looking for a hotel with good service and comfortable rooms this is not the hotel for you. Read more

WE loved this hotel even though there were some problems with service and things working in the room. 1st of all Benito at the front desk was very unhelpful and when we went back to ask someone else for help he was making comments in Spainsh, thinking that we didn´t understand, that were rude about us already asking for help. Nice, clean, friendly hotel. We booked one night at the hotel roc. We booked one of their standard rooms. It was a nice size room, comfy end, nice bathroom with bath and shower. Great location and facilities although in late October some of the facilities that were available during our September stay were no longer available, ie pool bar and outside dinning. I have Stayed twice. The hotel is good and the staff excellent, helpful and friendly. On my first visit I was given a 2 bed apartment which was excellent in every way. Second visit was in a standard twin bed room which was not much like any 4 star room I have ever been in. It was OK but fairly basic, much like a stardard Travel Lodge. Shower over bath, […] no thermostat on shower and without hot water for much of the time. Balcony was large but provided with a table and two hard, upright, slatted wooden chairs. Other rooms provided with loungers and larger balconies. I have stayed in better rooms in 2 star hotels. I would sugggest booking a Superior room if you want a more," Four star experience." The hotel is on several levels running down the cliff to the sea and finding your way around is difficult. I would not recommend it for children due to the confusing levels and lack of access to a beach. Despite the drawbacks I would go again. This is a nice hotel in a pleasant location. In general the communual areas in the hotel are kept in a reasonable decorative standard. The terraced gardens are lovely with views over the bay of Palma. The room we stayed in the main part of the hotel was large but of a very low standard for a 4* hotel. The hotel is very tired and in desperate need of refurbishment. Its more like a 2 star hotel and reminded me of the 3 star hotels of Goa 20 years ago. Our room was large but basic with little furniture. The bathroom had clearly been fitted many years ago. The bath was small, chipped and rusty; the enamel was shot. Since our flight was at 9:30pm and check out at the hotel is at noon, we asked to extend our stay. Reception told us that they couldn't tell us until the morning of our departure. On the day of departure we were told that the hotel was busy. This was strange since it appeared to be at least half empty. However, we were told that there was a courtesy room that we could use to take a shower - fine. When we came to use the room there was a pile of used towels on the bathroom floor and no clean towels. When I asked for towels at the Reception they gave me a used pool towel which was also torn and a damp bathroom towel which had also clearly been used already. They claimed that this was the best they could do. I was disgusted. On the upside, breakfast was reasonably good with plenty of cold meats and cheese. The beach nearby is lovely. We didn't use the hotel pools and it doesn't have a beach of its own. I would definitely never stay here again! Read more

Our experience at this hotel was very good. Room decor was a bit dated, but the room was a good size and very comfortable. One problem we had was that the shower water took a very long time to come through hot, but friends on a lower floor had almost instant hot water - I think that we were at the end of the run up on the top floor, and it did eventually […] copme through hot if you waited long enough. After paying extra for a sea view we were put in an apartment block at the back of the hotel, past a bus stop and across a public street! Going back to these apartments from the hotel pool (quite some distance away at the bottom of a hill) would involve passing through the hotel reception, past a bus stop, across a public road, into another reception […] lobby and up another lift!! Not very convenient..... we complained. We were told that the hotel was full and we could not swap our room. We made the booking in Mid January! The original sea view room we had been allocated had been given to someone else! We eventually got a swap, which involved us having to re-pack all our cases! We talked to other holiday makers who made bookings in the weeks previously and they were also told they had full sea views; and ended up being put in this rear apartment block. The booking is a big blot for a hotel that has great features and location, and WONDERFUL food. The hotel also has entertainment laid on, but if you are in the rear apartment block the volume is deafening!! My tip for this hotel would be to play to its strengths, and not pass off rooms that has a partial view of the sea as FULL sea view, it isn't full sea view if there are buildings in from of your view! Hotellet ligger på ett bra läge vid havet och nära Illietas Playa med busshålplats utanför dörren. 20 min till palma. maten var mycket bra och personalen serviceminded. rummet var under all kritik sängarna stenhårda. Badrummet var hål i taket, badkaret trasigt. allmänt mycket dåligt skick. det var 7 trappor ner till rummet som hade en stor terass mot […] havet. tack vare terassen och trevlig personal och ett bra läge kan jag rekomendera hotellet. MEN gäster måste veta före de kommer att rummen är av en sämre kvalitet än hotellet i stort. I stort alla gäster klagade när de sett rummen.
