"A fish out of water at a beautiful resort!"
I accidentally booked this thinking I was booking a resort I had stayed at earlier in the year. I was a little apprehensive when I realized it was part hotel and part timeshare. A bit of a retirement community vibe here (and I'm a single business traveler under 40!) BUT... I loved my experience. The staff was extremely friendly, the room was HUGE (the […] smallest was a two level villa with full kitchen, W/D, Fireplace, spa tub, upstairs loft and upstairs balcony overlooking Camelback Mountain. Beautiful. Everything was spotless.. the staff was phenomenal and they mapped out my morning run which turned into a trail run up Camelback which was 1.2 miles away. Breakfast was included and was meh but friendly, but the grounds were amazing, the neighborhood safe and the room fantastic. No complaints! Oh, and they have resort activities planned and live music a few nights a way. Super cute. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Check the A/C and the secondary bed."
Great place, great location....... The room itself was clean and well maintained. This was a 2 story condo. The A/C was just not as good as it should be, we set it to 72 degrees but it felt warm in areas, especially the master bed area. The secondary bed which my son slept on was hard as a rock. Overall I think we would go back but only after checking […] the A/C and the comfort level of all of the beds. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Fine, but not what I expected"
This was clean and adequate, but I realize that I have been spoiled by other hotels offering more amenities.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The location is good but it's old and needs a facelift in every way! The restaurant is the worst. I was there for a few days on business and like room service when I get back to my room. They didn't have any and it was just terrible quality bar food. I only recommend this to older people or families to stay, you can get groceries since it has a full […] kitchen. Not recommended for hip business travelers. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Room was nice. Very spacious and comfortable. Full kitchen was nice. Bed was comfortable. No late night restaurant for food. Check out was posted as 10 am on the back of the door. At 10 the front desk called to push us out of the room and when we asked for a little extra time to get our things together since we had just woken up, they said No you missed […] late check out and had to leave. 2 minutes later the maids were banging on the door. opened the door in a towel and told them I was busy and would be out in a half an hour. Staff at this Hotel was the worst I have ever come across and I stay in 25-35 hotels year round. Unfortunate because the rooms and location were great. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Older property, well maintained, pleasant staff, weak breakfast and food choices!! Coffee was not replaced each day, not a big deal unless you like to have a fresh cup when you wake without making the track to the pool area. overall not a bad experience. comfortable room with lots of space and a full kitchen, washer and dryer, ideal for a family staying […] for several days. "Nice location and lots of space for the $"
I would give this hotel a 3.5. The location is ideal and you get a lot of room for the $ including a kitchenette and a separate bedroom. However, they only cleaned the room once during our 5 night stay. I don't consider making the beds and wiping the counters cleaning. They didn't vaccuum or put the dishes in the dishwasher. Also, the tile in the bathroom […] had mildew/mold in the grout. I went out to get tile mold and mildew cleaner. A few sprays and it looked much better. I left them the bottle for future costumers. The continental breakfast was lacking and not so appetizing especially for $7 a person. I would recommend that they include that with the stay. Lastly, our tub had a very slow drain. I notified the front desk on the first day of our stay - they fixed it on the 4th day. Would I recommened it? maybe is a better answer. We, fortunately had friends staying at another place so we spent our entire vacation there and only stayed her to sleep. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
Villas are really spacious, and location is very convenient. Facilities aren't luxurious or ultra-modern, but they're comfortable and a great value.Genuine Expedia guest review
Overall the stay was comfortable. Had a couple of staff members who could have been MORE hospitable regarding our requests. Facilities were above average.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Relaxing and close to fine mall shopping."
The villas are very nice. Staff are very friendly and helpful. The pool is adequate. I did not use the tennis courts or hiking trails. The gym is adequate. The spa could be more private.Genuine Expedia guest review
Amenities and breakfast are very bad, good is not appealingGenuine Expedia guest review
It wasn't good or bad really. Both the phone and bedside alarms were preset to ring in the middle of the night which was irritating. The room was dark. You had to search the place for light switches for dull lighting. The TV was way across the room from the bed and the remotes reach couldn't turn the channel. Continental breakfast was a continental […] breakfast - cereal, yogurt, fruit, etc. The pool area was good, the overall feel of the place was safe and clean, the front desk was helpful enough. Otherwise it had a large living area, a kitchen, a large bathroom, the second bed was upstairs which would be nice if it was 4 folks, and a deck which was great because the weather was beautiful. "Resort hotel in Scottsdale"
The hotel exceeded our expectations. The staff was phenomenal (especially Andrea at the front desk and the bartender in the evenings (never got his name)). They were very accommodating - allowed us to use the resort before the room was ready (we landed at 8am) and let us stay all day after check-out to play tennis and relax by the pool. The pool was […] fantastic - salt water and 80 degrees. The tennis courts were in decent shape and free to use (we brought our own racquets). The room was great - much larger than expected and had a small kitchen w/ fridge to keep supplies. The only complaint was the mattress was too firm for my liking. We will be back and look forward to staying here again. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Not getting better..."
We have stayed at the Resort for several years, & I have diplomatically mentioned how uncomfortable their beds are. After all, vacation with a sore back is not too appealing. Well, the beds are supposedly new, but feel like padded plywood to me. The showers are minimal, and the complete lack of shampoo-type amenities (unless you ask & wait for them) […] is ridiculous. Sorry, we'll be looking elsewhere. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
really enjoyed my stay....great room, friendly staff. Will definitely return!Genuine Expedia guest review
the hotel was fine, but not what we ex[ected. It's circa the '80s time share motif. To be fair, it is in Scottsdale close to great shopping and restaurants but has a very low key, apartment like atmosphere. The breakfast was marginal, all carbs.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Enjoyed the stay and really love the casita style dwellings. The only complaint was that in our unit, the water heater didn't supply enough hat water to fill the Jacuzzi tub and we had to boil water in the kitchen.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Richard's BD & six years in Sedona, AZ celebration"
Scottsdale Camelback is centrally located for the things we like to do. Some of our favorite restaurants are nearby. It's very close to Old Town with its history and art galleries and restaurants. Close to shopping, but "out of the way."Genuine Hotels.com guest review
I brought my daughter and her friend here for a birthday weekend. I liked that we were able to walk to Scottsdale Fashion Square Mall for shopping and movies for the girls. I knew this resort has been around a while, so I think I was prepared for it to look as though it had been as well. To my surprise, everything was incredibly clean and very well […] maintained! No chips in the tile, wear patterns in the carpet, pool was pristine and perfectly maintained. The rooms were very spacious, pool was heated, and food wasn't awful.... "Well located resort style accommodations"
I can't say enough good things about this hotel to match my satisfaction and surprise with the comfort level of the rooms and the facility. "Wonderful Resort and Excellent Staff"
07/06/14 Christopher788 Gibsonville, NC
We traded into this resort through RCI and we loved it. This resort is BEAUTIFUL and the villas are clean, modern, spacious and well furnished. At check in, we asked Patrick for a view of Camelback Mountain from our private courtyard, and he searched until he found us accommodations on the back of the resort with a beautiful view. This resort offers world class tennis courts, a 9 hole putting green, a 1.5 mile walking trail enclosed within the walls of the resort, a movie theater, beautiful outdoor pool complete with fireplace and hot tub, and a wonderful poolside bar and restaurant. When you check in opt for the breakfast buffet which is a bargain at $80 for four guests for the week. The bar offers daily drink specials as well as happy hour, and the restaurant has great daily features each afternoon. The restaurant staff are friendly and offer outstanding service. Also this resort is well know for it excellent spa and fitness center. Close to world class shopping, golf courses and sporting events, this is a wonderful resort to visit when in the Valley of the Sun!
"Not a resort, don't stay here under any circumstances!"
07/04/14 regluke Prata di Pordenone, Italy
Booked a weekend over the 4th of July thinking we were getting a god deal. This was definitely a situation that fit the old adage: "you get what you pay for". All of the facilities are old and rundown. If you have ever stayed at a real resort you will not enjoy this place. Upon arrival at 1500, we were told we would be unable to check in until 1600. We had booked for two days and the clerk argued and said we only had one until I showed her the reservation. She told us we could go to the pool until 1600, just lock are belongings in the spa changing rooms. None of the lockers had functioning locks when attempted to do so. The pool is very small and only had one bartender/server from 1500 until 1900 when we left pool area. He was unable to deal with the amount of business at the pool. Not to mention he often ignored customers when they walked to the bar, too busy to leave his private conversations. The room was large, but old and needed renovations. The ceilings were filthy, as well dirty and worn carpets. The final straw was when I had waited a ridiculous amount of time at the pool bar to order beer. After the wait I decided just to take the beer to my room. Hotel staff stopped me like they were the police apprehending a rapist, and directed me to take the beer back to the pool, alcohol could not go tot the room. Nowhere was this posted and I was simply told this was policy. I ended up just leaving the beer at bar and going back to room. Also beware even though my room was fully paid for on arrival, they still put a $200 incidental charge on my card. They said this may take a week to go away. PLEASE AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS!!!!!!

We had a great time here. The pool was great and the rooms were clean and comfortable. It is in a great location. The lock on our door broke - things happen, but the staff made this easier by doing all the work moving us to another room. We had an unexpected death at home. The staff gave us an office to make phone calls from and were super helpful in terms of making arrangements to get home. They were so kind and went above and beyond! I would stay here again in a heartbeat.
"Great Place to stay!!"

This place was awesome, We arrived early they let us into our condo early, we were pleasantly happy with the condo , 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, great size for the 4 of us there. Seriously really nice, the main pool area was perfect especially when its 97 degrees out, everyone is pretty laid back, they had great little shop there to eat at and drinks were just across at the pool . Front desk ladies were amazing anytime we needed direction they would print them ot for us so nice to go that extra step, the fellow working however was complete opposite and shoulnt work in the industry I thought it was just me but he was the same to my hubby and mother. Location is perfect like 5 minute drive to old Scottsdale and to shopping etc
"A perfect place to unwind in very tranquil surroundings"
06/11/14 Louthster Welwyn, United Kingdom
We went here for a week after spending 7 days at a ranch as we just needed to crash out & chill after our week of early mornings & bashed bums & this was certainly the place to do it, the surroundings & grounds are idyllic & so very clean & well kept, the staff on the front desk are some friendly & helpful & they seem to have little direction hand outs to everywhere u may want to go :) the food onsite is good & well priced & the pool area is good (probably gets a bit tight in high season) we had a studio room so I was a bit apprehensive re how it was going to be but when I went inside I was amazed re the space it had, the full kitchen set up, big bathroom & an extra bedroom upstairs with its very own sun terrace area, we had a fantastic stay & believe me we spent a lot of time in the room as it was soooooooo hot everyday, (110 nearly everyday) would highly recommend
"Very Late Review (Nov. 2009) - Wonderful Resort & Friendly Staff"
I am very late sending this review but am doing so, anyway. We stayed at this resort due to the fact my friend knew about it and gave excellent comments regarding it. We were there for a week, in November 2009, and it was our first time vacationing in Arizona. Our resort room reminded me of a townhouse layout and was quite comfortable, spacious and relaxing. The room was clean, had nice furniture & decor and was quite spacious with a full size/updated kitchen (full size refridgerator, oven, washer & dryer, dishwasher, glasses, plates, cutlery, cookware, small size boxes of Tide, Dawn Dishwasher Detergent, pot scrubber, sponge, etc.). There was a bed (with a pull-around curtain for privacy), on the same floor of the living room/dining room and there was a bed upstairs where the walkout patio was (facing the miniature gold course). The bathroom was very large and nice. There also was a fireplace, in the living room, and a nice TV & DVD player and radio with good speakers on it. There were many cable TV options. The icing on the cake was the oscillating fan in the room! I love sleeping with a fan on and I had never seen this included in my hotel room before. The room also had it's own thermostat if the the room needed to be cooler or warmer. There was a small window which could be raised too, to let fresh air in. A mountain is in back of the hotel, which is scenic. We ate at the restaurant on-site and the food was good and reasonably priced. We also played miniature gold and had fun. The resort offers many games for guests to play. There was also a tennis court. Ample free parking is available. Scottsdale is beautiful and we are glad we decided to stay there, at this resort, when we came to the Phoenix area to vacation. The weather was perfect and it was easy to navigate around Scottsdale & Phoenix by car. The resort staff was friendly and attentive. The resort is easy to get to from the Phoenix International Airport and it did not take long to get to and from there. The resort is located near where upscale shopping malls are, nice restaurants and other attractions in Scottsdale and not far from downtown Phoenix. We would definitely stay at this resort again and have highly recommended it to others if they travel to Scottsdale/Phoenix.

We stayed in one of the 2 bed/2 bath condos. We chose this resort because we had friends getting married at the Phoenician (which is right next door) and this place was much more economical for 4 people. The pictures online looked okay, a bit dated. I don't know know if all the units are this nice but ours was great. Soaring ceilings in the living room, large dining table, redone kitchen and good layout. For the price, in this location, it is excellent. Pretty good free breakfast was included. Pool looked nice & clean. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Very clean. The only thing that prevented me from giving it 5 starts was the bathrooms had some grout/caulking that could have used replacing - but it was minimal & not dirty. Nice grounds and Camelback Mountain is in your backyard.
"close to everything"
I stayed here because it is close to everything, the rooms are large, my unit had a second floor, a jet tub and small kitchen (no oven but full size fridge) my only issue is that they nickel and dime you to death, 50 cents per call, no laundry soap or shampoo and conditioner in the room. they are fussy about checking in before 4:00. the rooms are clean and beds are comfortable.
"Great resort and staff"

Our stay here was great and we were well taken care of and the facility and grounds were great. Family games such as minature golf, crocket, pool and other actvities are available at the resort. They even show movies daily.
"Kids loved it!"

This was a real treat! We came along with Daddy while he was here on business. Gorgeous place. It was BLAZING hot so we ventured out in the evenings mostly. The pool was beautiful and warm at night after the blazing heat of the day. There are pool noodles available along with towels and water with lemon. Lots of friendly staff to help you. The cafe serves healthy meals and shakes and will bring them poolside. There is even a splashpad for the youngest travelers or just the young at heart! We ate at the restaurant, too. The fish tacos were really yummy along with the grilled corn. The breakfast buffet was delicious - made to order pancakes, waffles, omelets. The grounds were pretty, but to me it all looked alike. This was a BIG problem with finding my way around. Do not be afraid as surely you have more sense of direction than I do, but be aware. There are many signs, but I managed to get lost even still. I must not be the only one as scattered around are phones that you can use to call the front office. ;) This sits in the shadow of camelback mountain. If you look at it really hard and squint...it looks like a camel. ;) The kids had fun with it. Also, there is a mock up of an old cowboy town. We visited and pretended to have shoot outs. Lots of fun. The hotel uses it for events. I visited the spa and had an amazing mani/pedi. Besides the usual you would expect there was a special cream of some sort that left my skin soooo soft. Very relaxing and wonderful stay. Would recommend it!
