"Over priced for the quality of the room."
I'd never stay there again. Not worth the nightly room rate. The rooms are outdated like the rest of the resort. Pictures are not a true representation of the property..Genuine Expedia guest review
"Excellent hotel stay"
We could not have been more pleased with our hotel stay. We found the entire staff very pleasant and helpful. The grounds were well manicured; pool area very inviting. Room was spotless. Appealingly decorated. We have already recommended this hotel to others who might be visiting Scottsdale. We really wished we could have stayed longer.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Very well maintained, quite, personable staff"
There were no issues... Staff great, facilities clean, very quite, location perfect!! Very pleased!Genuine Expedia guest review
Although the staff were amazing and accomodating we had bug problems. Our 1st initial room had a wask hive out on the balcony. Our 2nd room had little black bugs coming out of the kitchen sink. Our suite was pretty and relaxing. Only downfall was the little critters trying to befriend us.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Very comfortable place we all enjoyed. Booked two rooms for the family. Had one of the best breakfast.Genuine Expedia guest review
We stayed here the first week in June and liked the location and size of the unit. It was just two of us but could have easily accommodated two more people, as there was a loft upstairs which we didn't even use. Housekeeping came everyday to clean and replace towels which was nice. We didn't get to enjoy the pool area because we spent most of our time […] site seeing. There was record heat that week so we were mostly indoors or in the car. There is a nice little workout facility that has weights and treadmills etc., so it was easy to get a workout in the morning. The location is close to the main roads, and highways, which makes for quick access to Phoenix and Mesa etc. We didn't have any trouble parking our car right outside the condo. It is an older resort, but kept up well and very clean grounds. It was a great deal for the price and we would definitely stay here again. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

Nice facility near upscale Four Season shopping centre. Residents need a car to explore the area. The resort is a little bit older however, well maintained. Granite countertops were a pleasant surprise.Genuine Expedia guest review
"A fish out of water at a beautiful resort!"
I accidentally booked this thinking I was booking a resort I had stayed at earlier in the year. I was a little apprehensive when I realized it was part hotel and part timeshare. A bit of a retirement community vibe here (and I'm a single business traveler under 40!) BUT... I loved my experience. The staff was extremely friendly, the room was HUGE (the […] smallest was a two level villa with full kitchen, W/D, Fireplace, spa tub, upstairs loft and upstairs balcony overlooking Camelback Mountain. Beautiful. Everything was spotless.. the staff was phenomenal and they mapped out my morning run which turned into a trail run up Camelback which was 1.2 miles away. Breakfast was included and was meh but friendly, but the grounds were amazing, the neighborhood safe and the room fantastic. No complaints! Oh, and they have resort activities planned and live music a few nights a way. Super cute. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Check the A/C and the secondary bed."
Great place, great location....... The room itself was clean and well maintained. This was a 2 story condo. The A/C was just not as good as it should be, we set it to 72 degrees but it felt warm in areas, especially the master bed area. The secondary bed which my son slept on was hard as a rock. Overall I think we would go back but only after checking […] the A/C and the comfort level of all of the beds. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

The location is good but it's old and needs a facelift in every way! The restaurant is the worst. I was there for a few days on business and like room service when I get back to my room. They didn't have any and it was just terrible quality bar food. I only recommend this to older people or families to stay, you can get groceries since it has a full […] kitchen. Room was nice. Very spacious and comfortable. Full kitchen was nice. Bed was comfortable. No late night restaurant for food. Check out was posted as 10 am on the back of the door. "Nice location and lots of space for the $"
I would give this hotel a 3.5. The location is ideal and you get a lot of room for the $ including a kitchenette and a separate bedroom. However, they only cleaned the room once during our 5 night stay. I don't consider making the beds and wiping the counters cleaning. They didn't vaccuum or put the dishes in the dishwasher. Also, the tile in the bathroom […] had mildew/mold in the grout. I went out to get tile mold and mildew cleaner. A few sprays and it looked much better. I left them the bottle for future costumers. The continental breakfast was lacking and not so appetizing especially for $7 a person. I would recommend that they include that with the stay. Lastly, our tub had a very slow drain. I notified the front desk on the first day of our stay - they fixed it on the 4th day. Would I recommened it? maybe is a better answer. We, fortunately had friends staying at another place so we spent our entire vacation there and only stayed her to sleep. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

The villas are very nice. Staff are very friendly and helpful. The pool is adequate. I did not use the tennis courts or hiking trails. The gym is adequate. The spa could be more private.Genuine Expedia guest review
Amenities and breakfast are very bad, good is not appealingGenuine Expedia guest review
It wasn't good or bad really. Both the phone and bedside alarms were preset to ring in the middle of the night which was irritating. The room was dark. You had to search the place for light switches for dull lighting. The TV was way across the room from the bed and the remotes reach couldn't turn the channel. Continental breakfast was a continental […] breakfast - cereal, yogurt, fruit, etc. The pool area was good, the overall feel of the place was safe and clean, the front desk was helpful enough. Otherwise it had a large living area, a kitchen, a large bathroom, the second bed was upstairs which would be nice if it was 4 folks, and a deck which was great because the weather was beautiful. "Resort hotel in Scottsdale"
The hotel exceeded our expectations. The staff was phenomenal (especially Andrea at the front desk and the bartender in the evenings (never got his name)). They were very accommodating - allowed us to use the resort before the room was ready (we landed at 8am) and let us stay all day after check-out to play tennis and relax by the pool. The pool was […] fantastic - salt water and 80 degrees. The tennis courts were in decent shape and free to use (we brought our own racquets). The room was great - much larger than expected and had a small kitchen w/ fridge to keep supplies. The only complaint was the mattress was too firm for my liking. We will be back and look forward to staying here again. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Not getting better..."
We have stayed at the Resort for several years, & I have diplomatically mentioned how uncomfortable their beds are. After all, vacation with a sore back is not too appealing. Well, the beds are supposedly new, but feel like padded plywood to me. The showers are minimal, and the complete lack of shampoo-type amenities (unless you ask & wait for them) […] is ridiculous. Sorry, we'll be looking elsewhere. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

the hotel was fine, but not what we ex[ected. It's circa the '80s time share motif. To be fair, it is in Scottsdale close to great shopping and restaurants but has a very low key, apartment like atmosphere. The breakfast was marginal, all carbs.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Enjoyed the stay and really love the casita style dwellings. The only complaint was that in our unit, the water heater didn't supply enough hat water to fill the Jacuzzi tub and we had to boil water in the kitchen.Genuine Expedia guest review

I brought my daughter and her friend here for a birthday weekend. I liked that we were able to walk to Scottsdale Fashion Square Mall for shopping and movies for the girls. I can't say enough good things about this hotel to match my satisfaction and surprise with the comfort level of the rooms and the facility. "Very disappointed :("
On our vacation to Arizona we decided to book one night in a place we thought would be a little more upscale. Firstly, we had a little trouble finding the entry way to the resort. Upon entering we thought it actually looked pretty with the fountain by the entrance. The girls working the front desk were really nice, even getting more help out front when […] a line was forming. They were helpful in telling you how to find your room, but was disappointed to not get any info whatsoever on other aspects, like where the restaurant was, or about the other activities - I had to ask. We set our belongings in the room and without staying more than a minute were on our way to get some supper, only to come back to seeing a ton of ants on the kitchen counters! The front desk was helpful in sending maintenance over, but seeing more ants, we decided to switch rooms. The other room was the same set up, just a few doors down, but the only problem I had with the rooms is that upstairs, the door leading out to the balcony does not have proper locks. This lead us to be uncomfortable having our young sons upstairs (since we have a curious 3 year old), so all four of us landed up sharing the bed downstairs. The washer and dryer however work amazingly well! Since we only stayed the one night we did not get a chance to try the pool, and didn't bother going to the restaurant. Overall it may be a good stay for more than one night, and maybe not for small children. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Customer Service Disgust! Charged for a room I didn't even stay in!!!!!!!!"
11/18/14 travelbuff85 Mount Vernon, Washington
“I am in complete shock right now, of the lack of customer service that I received from this hotel. It was booked by mistake (2 hotels with the same name in the same town) and I was not offered a refund. Instead, I am being forced to pay $191.99 for a room that I won't even be using and is more than the price that I actually booked it for. So not only am I paying for a room that I will not be staying in, I am being charged MORE than what I was told when I mistakenly reserved it. I have worked in customer service my entire life and have never been treated so poorly by a company. HOTELcom and this resort. Their manager should be ashamed of the way that I was treated. Not only will I be writing a letter to the "Resort", but I will also be posting this review to every review website I belong to, so that other people will know what poor quality customer service you people give. I am astonished that any company would treat someone this way!!!” I can’t believe that I am being charged MORE than the rate I booked for, absolutely WRONG!!!!
"I had mixed emotions going in....."
11/09/14 NayRyMimi Atlanta, Georgia
Honestly, when we booked this place after I read a number of the reviews I was not certain what to expect! There was such a mix of reviews that I went in feeling a bit of hesitation but to my complete surprise, I was happy overall! We were in a very nice villa (toward the back as recommended by reviewers) with all the amenities of home except for my sleep number bed! I went home with a very sore neck from the firmness of the mattress we endured for numerous nights! The staff was wonderful, polite and very helpful with all of my questions and concerns. The grounds were well maintained, the pool/hot tub area were quiet and the bar was a nice lunch place (even though we only ate there once). We did not make it to the onsite movie theater but it looked nice from the outside. The spa was currently being renovated so all services were occurring in one of the villas (I did not make it there either!). We had a beautiful view of camelback mountain and did walk the path behind the villas all the way around the property, it was very nice and very peaceful. I would stay here again and hope that the bed being a rock was due to a new mattress and maybe it will be better broken in next time, lol. The villa itself was very spacious and clean (as per the pictures on the website). I am glad and relieved that our stay was very pleasant.
"Under Camelback Mountain"
11/07/14 Robert155019 Toronto, Canada
We have just returned from this resort. It is a 20-minute drive from the Phoenix airport and a 10-minute drive from the centre of Scottsdale. Resort is well kept with many amenities (swimming pool, shaded wading pool, whirl pool, tennis courts, putting green, outdoor bar, BBQs, walking trail with exercise stations etc.). Apartment villas are spacious, clean, bathroom with jacuzzi, well equipped kitchen (stove with oven, microwave, dishwasher, large fridge/freezer, plenty of dishes and cutlery), washer/dryer, fireplace, several TVs. The weather was just perfect – max. 25 - 28 C and sunny. Downtown Scottsdale has many restaurants, galleries and shops – interesting place. There are at least 2 spectacular short scenic drives nearby. We liked the drive on Apache Trail to Roosevelt. We also took a tour to the Grand Canyon (almost 4 hours away).
"Relaxation and very good customer service."

We stayed in the 2 bedroom "Seville" unit. Beautiful with soaring ceilings, fireplace and very spacious. This resort is actually right on the border between Scottsdale and Phoenix. Our unit was about 1400 sq. ft., very comfortable, 3 t.v.s, stereo, 2 bathrooms, granite in the kitchen, etc. The pool was very nice also, as was the poolside bar. Large hot tub, and open at night, which we enjoyed.Lots of free onsite parking. Friendly, relaxed, customer service.Small business centre with free internet.Good food and reasonable prices at the poolside. I would recommend having breakfast somewhere else. The unit has all the appliances for cooking and there are barbecues on site (which I did not use).My only complaint was the noise from the patio of my unit, as it backed onto Camelback Road. The inside of the unit was quiet with very good air conditioning. The bed was a "Serta", and was very comfortable. I would definitely stay there again!

This is a place where one can really relax and enjoy the surrounding area. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean and well supplied with all the necessities. The pool was very clean and a lot of towels were available and the bar was close by. The food was very tasty and the drinks were very reasonable at happy hour.
"Ok for what we needed...but lacking in customer service"
10/07/14 Kris H Chino Hills, California
We recently stayed at Camelback Resort while on a quick golf getaway. We found a good deal on groupon and decided to give it a try. Check-in was easy but not welcoming by any means. We were not told of any of the amenities that were available to us at the resort. The rooms were nice, clean and equipped with the basics (even a washing machine with laundry soap). The studio offered two beds, one downstairs with a privacy curtain and one upstairs in the loft. Attached to the loft was a cute little balcony area. The first morning, we went to their breakfast and it was alright. They had your typical continental options of cereals, breads, yogurt, fruit cup and waffles. The second night we were there though, all of us were bitten by bugs (and all of the doors and windows were shut because we were not in the room all day). We collectively got bit about 30 times (on 3 people). Then we went to book a treatment at the spa and we were told the concierge was gone at a meeting and would no one would be available to help us. This property has the potential to be a 4 star if they would improve their customer service. Overall, if you are just looking for a place to rest your head, this is a good option. If you are looking for a resort that will go out of their way for you, pay the extra money and stay at the Hyatt recency.
"Wifi that does not work"
10/06/14 Sal C Sydney, Australia
I have booked this resort for a business trip and of course I need wifi. Well this has to be the worst wifi I have ever experienced and the staff don't give a dam in helping you. They say it must be your iPhone. If it only happened to my iPhone that would be ok but my iPad and laptop have the same non existent wifi signal anywhere I go including the reception. I would not recommend this place to anyone on business travel.
"not the best, lack of guest services"
10/01/14 Masterrocket Phoenix, Arizona
I purchased a week with my timeshare exchange and was greeted with blantant disrespect from the moment I walked thru front door to a very rude desk clerk. I have traveled many places and stayed at many resorts in 20 years and never been treated this poorly, abusively, and unprofessionally. If you are having a bad day then don't take it out on a guest! The Villas were nice but kitchens not stocked, no pans or broilers so my marinaded steaks went to waste as I had nothing to cook them. Front desk staff said "too bad housekeeping went home already". I slipped in shower as no mat provided and not sealed, hurt my ankle. I was told they were supposed to have non-slip surface... nope they dont. Pool nice but bartenders too involved with tv and football games get you a drink or take your food order. My sons were bored because there was no activities. less than exciting place!! good for old people or tourists. Mgmnt non-existant as well... so don;t have a problem because it will never get fixed here. The wifi never worked for 2 days then I spent 2 hours on phone with Cox to get mine in villa to work. Staff at resort knows nothing. It was a waste of $$ to me and we will probably not return. The charge for everything too, even mayo or ketchup, or to get a volleyball to play with!
"Wonderful place to relax!"
10/01/14 MusicMan42 Glen Allen, Virginia
We visited this resort during the month of September 2014 and found the accommodations as well as the staff to be excellent. Since this was the pre-high season, the rates were very reasonable as compared to the winter months when Scottsdale rates really go through the ceiling. This location was very convenient to many of the attractions surrounding the Scottsdale area. The restaurant on site is very modest with a limited menu. If you stay at this location request a room on the backside of the resort facing the mountains due to some road noise towards the front of the resort near the main street. Although the villa unit we were in had two bedrooms plus a living, dining, and kitchen area the second bedroom was on the smaller side and the bath adjacent to this bedroom was rather small. Our family unit consisted of two adult couples. Overall, we would definitely recommend this location to anyone traveling to Scottsdale for a relaxing trip to the southwest part of this country.
