"Great hotel, great price."
The staff was very friendly and helpful. They are great with restaurant sightseeing advice. Generous sized rooms and comfortable beds. Good water pressure in the shower and a nice kitchenette. Great location, right next to the beach and restaurants.

"Abandoned"
This is a quirky litte motel which was pleasant enough but the check in closed a 6pm. After that you were stuck if you had a problem as there was no one on site, no phone in the room and no contact details if you needed any help. No information of any kind in the room. We were the only people staying on the first of our two nights. Once the receptionist had gone that was it if we had a problem (which fortunately we didn't). Not many places to eat and the three different people we saw on the reception desk whilst we were there were friendly enough but not up to speed on the answers to (basic) questions.

"Wonderful place to stay with a history"
The owners of Spindrift are great - they made it worry-free for us when we had to check in late. There was a lot of room for our family of 5 to stay & a big bathroom. This Inn has been in business since right after WWII, so to say that it is quite old, but so clean & comfortable, is amazing. It's within 50 paces of the beach. We wanted to stay a second night, but unfortunately they were booked up & I can see why!

"friendly, cute, and clean!"
10/10/15 Steph S Yachats, Oregon
We stayed for only 1-night in a pet friendly room, and it was super cute and clean! The Inn is directly across the street from the pub and pizzeria, and a short walk to a gorgeous stretch of beach in one direction or shops the other. The staff was very accommodating with a late arrival (being tourists and stopping along the coast) and late check-out (receiving a massage at the spa) request. We highly recommend staying at the Spindrift...and heard that it's going to be renovated soon...can't wait to see the changes! It couldn't have been a better place to spend our first vacation night. Thank you so much for a wonderful stay!!!!

"Two blocks from the beach"

This is a small rambler style hotel, perhaps 10 rooms. Some rooms allow pets and I know at least one room has a kitchenette. This hotel went under new Management two years ago. They have made some nice and terribly needed improvements: new roof, exterior painted and the room we always get had a new shower put in. I have some adjustment pains with the new Management. Because my husband and I vacationed this hotel each year the old Management gave us special discounts (i.e. we only had to pay for one pet stay and not two and we would receive a discount for being regular with out visits). We don't have the same rapport with the new Management. I was disappointed in the cleaning staff who refresh your room each day. They failed to resupply our coco, tea, sugar and coffee mate. The hotel does offer your pets a watering dish, food dish, a couple of towels and a sheet to use either on the bed or floor. The hotel offers free DVD movies to use from their library as each room comes with a DVD player. The movies are old, but still really good movies.

We had stayed at the SpinDrift inn in Manzanita, OR, for the previous five years always making reservations from five or six months ahead of time to stay there in late August. We have always asked for Room #10, a corner room, and have always gotten it up until this August. When we checked in we were told that Room #10 was already booked and we would have to stay in Room #15. After explaining our frustration with the lobby person we were told that there was no other room with a mini-kitchen available. Reluctantly we agreed to take Room #15 not knowing nor explained to us that it shared a common wall with a Mexican restaurant. We heard noise from the restaurant from before noon until about 10PM every day and night of our four night stay. We checked back at the front desk after the first night and were told that #15 was still all that was available with a mini=kitchen. In hindsight, we should have asked to be moved to another room after that first night or we should have left the hotel to stay elsewhere. Later in our stay when complaining to a different person at the front desk, they reduced our bill for our stay by 7 1/2%, a nice jester. Whatever any wanting to stay at the Spindrift does, do not accept staying in Room #15 unless you are deft.

"Nice, well-located old-fashioned motel"
08/25/15 MadmomMadison_WI Madison, WI
Nothing fancy, but very comfortable, clean, and well-located. Even the standard/smaller rooms seem to include a microwave, fidge and (more unusual) silverware. Rooms are large, the beach is just a couple blocks away, and there's a gym right next door that has one-day memberships if you want to work out.

"Simple, clean throwback. Repeat guest"
08/15/15 WildBillSeattle Seattle
We always stay at Spindrift. It used to have all or mainly kitchenettes in rooms all in a row, like the "cottages" of old. Kitchenettes are still available and so are "pet rooms" for a few extra bucks. No amenities but iIntermittent wifi, TV, coffee maker and fridge, but walk 5 minutes to everything great about this little village without paying for stuff you probably didn't come for anyway.

"Pleasant stay"

Efficient check in upon arrival with great recommendations for eating in Manzanita and nearby. Not fancy but clean with good bedding and mattress. Excellent free wifi and TV reception. We would stay again for one nite. If we were staying longer would want a bit more space to sit and a more comfortable couch and additional easy chair. Beach a block away which is a plus and it was quiet at night. The little courtyard is in need of a bit of landscaping. The toilet is the very low style and difficult for older visitors.

"Good, basic beach room for kids and dogs."
05/27/15 Katy1400 New York
Absolutely nothing fancy about this place. It's an old fashioned motel built and decorated to stand up to kids, a pet, and the sand and water that will be tracked in. Rooms are small, everything was clean, no smells at all in our pet friendly room, and the location is just a block from the beach. (No views.) It is totally average and totally acceptable for what it is. We took what we could find for 1 night on Memorial Day weekend, but $185 for such no-frills accommodation seemed a bit steep.

"Great Location"

This is a great location for in town Manzanita. Close to the Sanddune pub which is good and bad, can be loud at night from music, but just bring earplugs or go listen! We did both. It's a short block to beach, close to a great pizza place and coffee place right next to it. I'm giving it 3 stars because the bed was pretty hard and oddly shaped that made it difficult to sleep, fine for one night but more than two might leave you uncomfortable. Did appreciate the taffy and kitchen in our room. We did not get to meet Bob in person, we met someone new and when calling back and forth I left a message while traveling and instead of listening to the message before hand they called me immediately back and therefore it defeated my call in the first place. This happened a couple of times and was a little frustrating. We will be coming back and rooming with friends for a special event so maybe we will get a room with a better bed this next time, other than that a clean, nice place.

"Great place for a fun weekend at the beach!"
05/25/15 Gayle M Portland, Oregon, United States
We recently stayed here to celebrate our daughter's birthday. It was such as cute room and very comfortable. The beds were amazing and it was nice tho have a kitchenette for making food. Loved having salt water taffy available in our room and at the front desk. Bob was very helpful with getting videos for the kids and with suggestions for places to eat. The location was excellent, close to beach and town. Definitely will be back!

"Perfect Weekend!"
05/19/15 Keikermann Denver, Colorado
My daughter and I spent a lovely relaxing weekend at the Spindrift Inn. Bob was wonderful with recommendations and advice everything from where to eat and where to find sand dollars! We spent a few hours in Cannon Beach but much preferred the quiet streets of Manzanita.
